- Today was such a fun day of summer steelhead fishing with Jordan, Popov, and Marlin. A bit of a late start turned out to be an epic day of steelhead fishing. Marlin also shows his favorite way to smoke fish. Thanks for watching ADX!!
Smoked Fish Recipe & Brine:
2 cups of brown sugar
½ cup of Kosher salt
¼ cup garlic powder
¼ cup onion powder
3 teaspoons white pepper
*This will make enough for about 4 medium salmon or steelhead fillets*
Smoking Directions:
1. Grab your Tupperware containers and cover the bottom of the container with a layer of brine mixture.
2. Then, place the fillets in the container, skin side down.
3. Once the container is full of fish, completely cover the fillets with the mixture with 100% coverage.
4. Refrigerate & brine for 24-36 hours, flipping every 6-8 hours.
5. Remove from the refrigerator and rinse your fish of all the brine.
6. Dry on a wire rack at room temperature for about 2-5 hrs, or until a slight yellowish film appears on the salmon or steelhead.
7. Smoke the fish at 150 - 180 degrees Fahrenheit for 5-8 hours to a minimum internal temperature of 145 - 150 degrees, held for 30 minutes. NOTE: The higher the temp of the fish, the dryer the fish will become.
8. Remove from the grill, and wrap in aluminum foil for about 15 minutes to settle the juices.
9. Now it's time to eat, ziplock it, or vacuum seal it.
10. Smoke fish will last in the fridge for 10-12 days or it can be frozen to last a lot longer.

This is one of my favorite Addicted videos. It was caos when Marlin's fish took him around the boat. Good to see that I'm not the only one to have Jordan as my "fishing boyfriend", and yes my husband gave him that name for me. Then that smoked fish! I want that in my life. Great job, guys.

Such a unique way to fish for the Summers, I thought you guys were back bouncing for them at first, Marlins how to reminds me of the good old days, you guys keep putting out great stuff every week!
I smoke my fish the EXACT same way. Only difference is you used a lot more garlic and onion powder and now I'm gonna try using more. 👍👍👍
I enjoy everything you do for showing us what to do you guys are fishing God's!!
I love watching you catch these beautiful fish. But I get a little bored when you don't do a catch and cook! Keep this up and I will watch every video.
I dry brine with a ratio 2 cups brown sugar to 1 cup kosher salt. Also pull the skin off and pull the pin bones prior. Next day, the filets get rinsed, dried on a wire rack in fridge then out for about an hour before hitting the smoker (pellicle formation; doesn’t stick to rack). I pellet smoke with apple heat and a smoke tube with cherry in the chamber. I’ll try alder next but this method is hard to beat; everyone loves it.
Really good 😃😊, and the smoked salmon looks amazing 🤩!! Great 👍😃 video and recipe!!
Great job, my guys! Thanks for bringing us with you!

👍💖 Wow Marlin, that was some good looking smoked fish. It was good to see your fur buddies.
10% of the Fisherman catch 90% of the fish, but you guys are rapidly changing that statistic. Thanks for the awesome videos and information.
It’s amazing how strong these fish are! Love the videos :)

Like your brining method. I usually do a wet brine but think I want to try yours. Thanks for putting it out there for all of us to try.
AWESOME Video 📹 👏 👌 👍. Good recipe for smokin.
Always love the adventures boys! Much love ADX! 🤙🏼🎣🔥
I got into fishing watching you guys. And thanks to your videos I was able to catch some prize fish (prize for me haha). Greetings from Puerto Rico!
What do you catch in Puerto Rico?!
@@AddictedFishing so this is the third time I type this reply haha, apparently I can't send links. I'm not knowledgeable in types of fish but I did some research and the list is huge. Some are: peacock bass, atlantic blue marlin, mountain mullet, brown bullhead, grass carp, common carp, swordspine snook, tambaqui, Mapiro (fat sleeper), striped mojarra, yello fin mojarra, bluegill, nile tilapia, burro grunt and the list goes on. Depends on what side of the island you go to.
basting with maple syrup works great also
Definitely gotta try that looks delicious!
Love the videos!! Keep them coming!!!
Killer steelhead Marlin !!👍🐟
Thank u!
Good job on that 1st fish,I wouldn't have kept him either. Not worth it!Tight lines brothers!
Drooling here!
imagine being the guy on the bank at 2:20, fishing, not having luck, then the addicted crew pulls up in a top of the line drift boat and bring in a big chrome hen right in front of you before motoring off.
Love you guys. Keep up the amazing work
Awesome as always my friends!!! Literally been struggling with fishing up here due to heat and hardly any rain. But as always after watching y'all's video it gives me what I need to keep on keeping on!!! About to fish in a few!!! Thanks for the videos and tons of useful information!
Look at Jordan not BLUSHING!! 😂😂
That’s how I like to brine and then air dry to make a glaze sealing in the juicy goodness!
I am going to try this recipe thank you.
Nice!!
Great shot of the eagles! Excellent fish fellas! 🤑
Looks very delicious.
Dry brine for sure. 6-8 hours. Pulls a ton of moisture out. Then pat dry and wait for a pellicle to form. Then into the smoker.
I will give your recipe a run it looks great! Keep the quality coming. They are great.
Looks delicious 🤤 I do a very similar recipe but also add powdered ginger and I baste with maple syrup…I’m getting hungry just thinking about it😝🎣
I want to try maple next time.
Fish on .
These contacts are a scam .not a legitimate give away.dont respond to these .no comment give aways.
Great video again! Gonna give that smoked recipe a try next time. Looks delicious!!
Put a fan on the cured fish and cut the time by at least 1/2. Good tutorial on smoking...Having a nice dried surface (pellicle) before going in the smoker is super critical for the best smoked fish...
I find that removing the pinbones is much easier post smoking. The meat shrinks away from the bones and the cooking loosens them up 😃
It's not always the early bird that gets the worm sometimes it's the dinner bird that gets the worm lol
I use a wet brine. After the pat down I rub maple syrup on them. Use some apple or cherry wood that I soak over night. Last time I smoked the trout I made earth oven. Delicious 👍
Isn't it weird though, how Popov asked Jordan to rub his rod! That deserves a shirt
I'd really love to fish with you guys one day, y'all are characters like my cousin and I when we're together fishing. Just to meet you guys would be epic. We're from Eugene
Marlin.....A little tip to make your life easier with the pin bones....leave them in when you brine and smoke the filets. After they've been smoked and cooled off you can pull the bones out really easily. They really protrude out of the filets due to the meat shrinking during the smoking process. I do a similar dry brine as yours and baste the filets with Tiger Sauce (Pepper Sauce) before covering them with the dry brine. And a honey/lime glaze like you do in the smoker.
I will definitely try that next time!
Smoked salmon season is here!
I’ll definitely give this a try
Dam that looks good awesome video
Swanny got a hold of it
🤣🤣
You guys are the best love the catch and cooks actually love all the videos thank you guys
Caught my first two steelys there on Monday and Tuesday!
Hi Nick! What river are they on? Thank you!
You guys need to do a challenge to see if any of you guys can circle the boat as fast as marlon did in this video 😂😂
Great video guys like always 👍 That's exactly what I do with my rainbow trout when it comes to taking the bones out, it does takes a lot of time, but believe me is worth it, special when you eating n don't get any bones ,
Its a pain, but definitely worth it! I share my fish with a lot of kids & I don’t want them to worry about bones.
