And they are all friends. It’s so cool to see how comfortable the guests are talking to them unlike an interview where they seem more defensive and rigid.
@@michaelholmes8848not huge in subscriber count but huge in value. There’s almost nobody that can get guests of this caliber consistently and that can extract so much information from them in a great conversational approach
I think what excites me the most about this podcast, is we are able to listen to him speak without getting on a plane to attend a conference. We didn’t have to ask for an analyst pass or spend weeks writing follow up emails asking for an interview. I really appreciate the format and all the topics you covered.
Interesting take. I think I agree...But what about Sundar Pichai? Or Eric Schmidt who scaled Google to infinity from basically a college dorm room startup.
Tim Cook has taken Apple from 200B to 3.75T. Neither CEO really oversaw the creation of anything astoundingly new they just monetized the existing products very well.
@@user-ow1bn6qv8q Well, that's not really fair to give Tim cook that credit..All of apples growth was primarily from Steve's work and it went from like 300b to 600b+ a month or two after he died and continued on that trajectory. But Eric Schmidt really was responsible for building googles advertising empire, which is where it's money even comes from, so I think he is actually responsible for a lot of googles present day success, because the advertising largely funds everything else.
Satya is so incredibly sharp. Not as public as a lot of other CEOs but incredibly refreshing to hear him talk more informally about the way he thinks the future will unfold. Excellent interview.
I love this long format interview. We typically just get the sound bite Satya Nadella. And this exposes so much more of his brilliance. I felt like I was in an actual conversation with him. His knowledge, long-term recall, forming new ideas together in a highly competitive and dynamic environment is really a clinic for anyone in tech. Just amazing.
At 34:30, Satya was in the middle of saying a super insightful and important thing about how Apple Intelligence approach is like what Microsoft will do for 365 - then Gurley interrupted to simply say he’s been using Apple Intelligence… this was a *terrible* interruption, as Satya was seemingly going to keeps talking about what that implementation would look like for 365! I’m wondering what more Satya would have described, and if he may have not said this anywhere before! Otherwise, BG2 is still my favorite pod by far, and I’m a huge fan of the focus on fundamental value and being an analyst - but wow this interruption stands out! Otherwise absolutely fantastic interview!
Love it how at 47:00 there is an editing cut just as Satya was about to reply to what he feels about Benioff badmouthing Microsoft. 😂. The response was so strong that Microsoft PR had to ask for a cut 😅
This is a very deep and througtfull interview. I've listened to it three times. There's so pure Gold nuggets in it. It's amazing that we can have access to interviews like this nowadays. Thank you guys for what you do.
Sathya comes off as a deeply thoughtful and analytical CEO. He’s not flamboyant like many of his peers but then his public persona is not dull, like a Pitchai. He’s exactly what every board out there is looking for, for a CEO candidate, who could reinvent and reinvigorate a legacy company - I’m thinking about the likes of Intel and perhaps even IBM. Oracle has Larry, but he’s pushing 80 years!
One thing with Satya I have found so intriguing… every time something big happens, go back to his keynotes at Inspire, Ignite and Build from 2 years before, and you’ll hear all the hints he drops so discreetly you’ll wonder if you heard it right. He’s an incredibly intelligent and thoughtful speaker and about 80 steps ahead of everyone else. It always feels like they’re later to the market but when they land it, they land big
I start to like this one more because its information i can use on the Market and Investment, I kinda prefer this than including politics to the mix (all in)
1:07:12 Satya was about to talk about tensions between OpenAI and Microsoft, which I think a lot of people are interested in and you may have gotten some nuggets there, but Bill cut him off.
And then Bill interrupting Microsoft CEO again at 1:07:19 when he was getting into the different point of view of Sam at OpenAI in regards to going for building more infrastructure! That’s a crucial topic to get into. Anyways, amazing amazing pod anyways - but please look for these key moments to go deeper.
Wow! One of my favorite episodes. Incisive and pertinent questions by Brad and Bill. Satya was a bit generic initially and the last 40 mins was fantastic!
FR right. Plugging something I don't care about when the interviewee is getting deep into a subject. Satya handled it right by just stopping to talk and nodding like: "You never get what I would have said because you don't deserve it."
This chat is an example of the amazing value being added to anyone with a viewing device. This access we gain to the people leading many industries is incredible. And the ideas we receive on our own investment journey. We get to learn what's driving these companies. Watching these is due diligence to any serious investor in these companies. Over the air BnB haha. Thanks guys!!!
Satya Nadella discusses Microsoft's AI strategy, investments in OpenAI, the future of enterprise and consumer AI, model scaling, and the balance between open and closed AI development. He reflects on his tenure as CEO and Microsoft's position in the AI era.
In terms of computers running actions with financial details, there needs to be more regulation and legislation in regards to who is on the hook for bad purchases and how purchases are refunded through the agent. Also, 4-seasons having an agent and there being a public agent non-affiliated with 4-seasons are two very different things.
Bg2 is my fav pod, but.... I think the reason why most people are turned off by these sorts of podcasts is because of the way tech bros in general talk. It seems like every other phrase is "you know" within a sentence. I'm not saying any of these guys are annoying on purpose, but if you were to ctrl+f you know, I bet it shows up at least 100 times in the transcript of this episode.
Better than Jensen Huang’s “does that make sense?”. And paradoxically, people who say that line only do it right after someone affirms their understanding. Person 2: “Ohhh right, I see!”, Person 1: “Does that make sense?”
Have you ever compared and researched Microsoft and AWS AI portfolios? Please post all the services that AWS and Microsoft supports. Then only comparison is possible. This discussion can be taken offline too.
42:52 when Satya is referring to Foundry, he means the Microsoft Foundry. However the real Foundry is from Palantir. Microsoft has recently renamed Azure AI Studio to Azure AI Foundry. If they can't beat them (Palantir), then try to confuse the people.
Can you think of any CEO (besides Jensen) in the top 30 most valuable public companies in the world, who understands AI at the core, it's past 50 years of history, and in context, and has a decent idea of a complex roadmap?
These guys seem to be missing that Tesla will have have a chat gpt moment in terms of stock appreciation due to an AI lead in full self driving and optimous, vastly more profitable than current AI companies.
This guy does not care if teams or outlook works for you. He cares more about the bottom line on the project. Microsoft products are suffering because they focus on b2b instead of the user.
This pod is huge, first Nvidia CEO, now Microsoft CEO! Yall outdoing it and I’m here for it

Too niche. All in is far ahead.

Why compare them?
All in is too political. Too srlf important
Yep. Switching over! This is how Allin was.
Not even close to the same thing
This guy did well and MS grown very well during his time. Another good thing is, he is not blaming other companies...
Question: Who else left All-In and is enjoying these deep dive tech interviews, rather than talking about over priced hats and sweaters?
All in is junk now. Chamath seesm unhappy there lol
Why do we have to sh!t on one thing to appreciate the other

Phenomenal work, Satya-innovative thinking that challenges even his own company.

“Sometimes it’s ok to fast follow” … I’m glad he owned that after an intro that failed to adequately contextualise his big wins. Well said.
