Most electrifying 2yr stretch in Georgetown history! From his first game vs Arkansas til his last one vs Umass, A.I. was must see TV. Salute to Big John for letting him do his thing
Big john 😢
Not better than the Patrick Ewing years.
@Bo Stephens I'd probably put Sleepy Floyd as a starter but that's an unreal team!
@Bo Stephens I was living in Houston when Othella was playing there. He was great. Georgetown has had some incredible players over the years. Too many to count.
Yes
The most beautifulest thing I ever saw.. Iverson balling in 11s. I watched this dude feverishly at Georgetown... When I seen him hop step and throw it on 2 Bigs.. I knew his heart was as big as his game. 💯Salute A.I.
@Patrick J Mims 💯🔥💪🏾 Best kicks ever to play ball in. Atleast any pair from 2001 on back.
I’m wearing the Easter emerald 11s right now and when I seen AI wearing the 11s it made me smile big af
That boy was fearless!
@Dunn Dallas And Growing up in VA
Coach Thompson loved Allen more than anyone.. Allen was his heart.
Allen was devastated when Coach passed away.
@@theunthinkable1021 because John Thompson saved his life by recruiting him after he went to jail.
Iverson was DOMINANT in college and the NBA!
The most amazing thing was that he really had to make near to zero adjustments in order to play in the NBA. This was his game. And it worked.
Arguably the most athletic NBA player of all-time. He wasn't blessed with the size of Jordan, given his size against bigger competition.. it's crazy how impactful AI was.
The handle was amazing. He had the best ball control we had ever seen, his speed was also impressive.
They all agree; super quick
Yea, But AI lost his Amazing leaping ability at an extremely young age because he refused to condition his body. Had he done that IMO he would've been 10X better... But around 24 or 25 his a HOPS were pretty much gone.
AHMAD2423 still was averaging 30+ ppg lol
That ok made he wasnt blessed with Jordan size Jordan wasnt blessed with ai speed AI made jordan knees buckle lol after that Jordan realize he needed to retire lol
Well he's an Eastern conference champion which is the second biggest thing in NBA... To me that's a great accomplishment!
Big Iverson fan!
Helleva time in college basketball.. A.I, Camby, Ray Allen, Kerry Kittles, John Wallace, Marbury, Antoine Walker, Victor Page , Tony Delk ... str8 ballers ... U see Iverson with the fresh patent leather J’s ...RIP to Coach Thompson
Don’t forget Rasheed Wallace,
Jerry Stackhouse. Iverson scored 21 on them in 2nd half of ‘95 sweet 16
A.I, Victor Page, Othella Harrington, Jerome Williams. Man when I first saw A.I play I was hooked. Watched dude thru G-Town and the NBA. Dude was definitely ‘The Answer’...
You couldn’t guard him without fouling. Unlimited stamina and athletic ability . I think Iverson, Jordan, and Rodman had the most stamina of all nba players
so true
Pure talent, heart and skill
Pound for pound the greatest basketball player of all time. Imagine if he was 6 foot 6 inches...
GREATEST VERY CLOSE IF HE HAD JUST KOBE WORK ETHIC NO HEIGHT NEEDED
@@dopemoney23: He's 6 feet tall 160 pounds. Kobe is 6-7 inches taller at 220 pounds. Even if AI has stronger work ethic, I think he's probably maxed out. Now if he was a little bit taller, he'd be scary.
I remember AI sharing a story about having dinner with Kobe once in LA. When they parted ways AI said he was going to the club, & Kobe said he was hitting the gym. He could’ve took “practice” (lol) a little more serious. But still he’s the best player 6 feet or under in nba history imo
@@MVRBFree Practice? LoL
Iverson didn't touch a basketball the entire off-season and he had no pregame warm up routine. He was naturally great moreso than anyone besides Shaq.
A.I had the step back years ago 4:04
Walking bucket 25ppg as a sophomore!
Luka had more
@@alexham28 he's much larger that AI
Shot 36% from 3 that year too
@@alexham28 luka ain't played no college ball man
The angles that he takes on those layups are unreal.
3:24
B4 the Eurostep, it was A.i. regular wiggle
Edgar Padilla, Carmelo Travieso and Marcus Canby, coached by a young John Calipari. UMass was the bomb back in those days.
watching his game, he’s one of few guys who can strive whichever era he’ll play.. even with today’s game.
I can't believe a kid that little was really doing those things in real life! Those highlights were unbelievable even if he never did anything else!
You do know that's Allen Iverson right? Lol
He only had a Hall of Fame NBA career after those 2 little years in college. Lol
@@warrenbii2363 it's hard to believe LOL he just looks like some kid who lives around the corner or something.
He is also elite at qb and db in football
He's 6 foot not 5'4
@@dogelife7901
5'10 for real real
I like him, he is a ncaa champion, nba champion, won fiba gold, olympic gold. i love basketball
Fearless! Best guard in NBA history.
I love this guy My goat A.I. & Mj forever 💪🏽🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Goat A.I Hoyas R.I.P. Coach Thomas
He had to play like that! He was wearing the shoes of a man he looked up to greatly.
Allen Iverson is the GREATEST point guard EVER! And I say that with no hesitation. And there have been great point guards to go through the ncaa, and nba.
My honorable mentions are Kevin Johnson, and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.
Man....AI was BOUNCY!!!!!!
Man he was killing in the classic pair of Jordan's!!!!!
I hope this kid can make it in the NBA..
Alkin Sansan lol
Funny!
I hope this not a real person with this comment.
He did!
some of y’all must be real fun at parties. It’s called a joke!
awesome highlight package
Iverson in the concords is just a different breed
As great as he was for the Sixers, I feel like prime Iverson was the college years and first couple of years pro in terms of explosive plays, unparalleled athletic ability, and non-stop motor/energy/hustle.
That man is the king of cross over of her era! 💪🏀Iverson show time🤗😄🔥🔥
For those of us that actually saw him live at Georgetown you could just see that there was something different about him.
nothing but the toughness
I feel like Iverson should have stayed at PG. Yes he was a natural scorer and amazing at it. I just feel like he was at a disadvantage guarding guys that are 6'5, 6'6 or 6'7 when he's only 6 ft. He lead the league in steals 3 times. If he was guarding guys his size that would have doubled. Then on the offensive end. It's kind of hard to get a clean look at the basked when guys that are once again 6'5, 6'6 and 6'7 have their long hands over you. Which is why his FG percentage was so low.
Dude, Allen Iverson usually guarded the other team's PG, Eric Snow/Aaron McKey etc would guard the opposing SG.
@J 2 I don't know where you guys are getting your information but A.I many and most times has guarded the other teams SG. He guarded Kobe in the finals. There's a video on RUclips with him and Sprewell going back and forth guarding each other when the Sixers played the Knicks.
@Rama Lurio But he did. Did you guys even watch basketball back then. Like X-Man just stated he remembers him guarding Reggie Miller and Reggie killing him in the post.
Lopez I agree with you I wanted him to stay a guard also but AI was so fearless he ran jerry stackhouse out of Philly and then assumed the sg role but even being undersized he still did his thing against taller competition!
X Man You not Correct.... Reggies wasn’t No post up Player. You did better saying Mark Jackson. Who was known to back down opposing Guards which was the cause to the 5 sec back to the basket rule (Along with Barkley)
The put back dunk 💪
The Answer. My favorite player when i was 8 years old.
My man "A". Dawg proving beyond a shadow of a doubt, that its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog!!!!! One fam NNVA WOOF!!
What a phenomenal player A.I. was @ Georgetown and in the NBA 🏀 🙏🏽👏🏾💪🏾🔥☄️
Guys like Iverson, Thomas, Stockton, Nash, Archibald + Manigault proved that you don't need to be tall and big to dominate. You can dominate with skill and talent.
Don't forget Mahmoud Abdul rauf. Formerly known as Chris Jackson. Small but pretty much unguardible.
Is it just me or was his jumper better in college
Ur bugging his jumper was wet especially in that 05-06 season when he averaged 33 ppg
4:04 the father of "back step", awesome Iversson
Iverson ballin out in the Jordan 11s is iconic 🔥
Was he wearing Jordan 11?
What a joy to watch.
For me the best point guard of hoya's history built like a lining back when he runs incredible energy on court great player
A.l. Got them long arms... makes him even more dangerous
@2:56 that putback tho 👀
That is when I started to follow NCAA basketball. What a talent
Iverson was a monster. One of the most talented ever
Personally I think with the impact he had on the game, on and off the floor culturally, he's top 10 all time. Period. Kobe too. They're in mine anyway.
Brandon Bryant Hardddd! To argue against that, all seriousness though.
I'd say top 20-25. Influence wise though, aside from Jordan - he had the biggest impact on the game of Basketball.
One of the most legendary basketball players of all time
Tht 1 Yr Run was other worldly 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Classic footage, respect 💪💖🤛💯.
my pound for pound Father
Amazing skills.
Favorite player ever to watch in college!
Before concords were called concords
PREACH WAS CALLED THE XI'S

What a time!!
I lived on the same dorm and floor at UMass with Marcus Camby. We use to talk a lot and I remember him telling us there is this player that gets into everyone’s head in basketball. It was none other than AI.
Young AI was the most explosive PG of all time.
@arronnov Westbrook is/was more explosive than Rose, but neither holds a candle to AI.
@arronnov You have no idea of what you're talking about.
@arronnov LOLOLOLOL. He's bigger, but AI is hands down the fastest dude in NBA history and it's not even close. He also played in a WAY more physical era. Again, you have *NO IDEA* of what you're talking about.
@@dy120481 you are speaking straight facts
dy120481 facts 💯
I miss this AI could nobody stop with his dribbling moves
Had A.I. Rookie Jersey in 96' in 4th grade. A.I. was that dude changed the whole swagger of the NBA as a young kid I ate it up.
We all did
Straight legend, I love you my brother..
AI this year is so athletic. This could be the best version of him
A.I. was a NBA legend in college 😂
All heart. Georgetown basketball misses him bad
iverson is the coolest basketball name.
PR backcourt and Marcus camby...Loved umass back in the day. Oh and that iverson kid was pretty good too
Carmelo Travioso and Edgar Padilla.
Aka “The Puerto Rican Dynamos”💯💯💪🏾
The definition of a pure scorer.
That boi A.I. invented the "corkscrew" lay!
THAT MAN😳😳😳✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾
Did he practice ?
AI was a beast, straight killer on the court.
I watched the UMass game live, still hurts but UMass had a great team that year.
Wyndamn FACTS ..me too!
Marcus camby was a beast. But Edgar Padilla was mad smooth as a guard.
Yeah Camby was the 2nd big man that year behind Duncan. Then they had those 2 Latinos in the backcourt in Carmelo Traviso and Edgar Padilla. They sure had a squad.
@@illmontic7word 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
@@bbryant9455yeah they had a complete backcourt.
The Man of all time my lil Shorty 💯💯💯
He changed the NBA ...
Thats my idol since 1999 until now 😎
For his height, he was blessed with speed and long arms.
I see an Iverson video, I click...someone please upload his highschool football highlights, please and thank you
Much Gratitude
Georgetown University will forever use Iverson as a recruiting tool. Once out of their system, he would have to pay for alumni services, if he stayed or went back to graduate. Everyone got what they wanted.
You know your team 🥶 🥶🥶🥶 when the whole squad got on concords
Allen Iverson is a Beast 💪💪👊✊
My favorite player of all time
in 2023 , I Love this guy !
So explosive
何がすごいって、毎試合ほぼフルタイム全力を出し切るスタミナと闘志だよなあ
Best player under 6foot in NBA history
AI waz 6’1 tho...
@@LifeGotIt lol nah Ai was 5'11 on a good day he even joked about it himself saying he's not really 6'0
Who was calling those last 2 games. Was that a helium voiced Gus Johnson and maybe Snapper Smith? The joy in those calls beautiful.

1:34 Have Mercy Mr. Iverson!
MEM-OR-IES🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ best tourney I ever saw growing up
Mama there goes that maaannnnnn!
We all wanted to be him in 96, 97…
Loook how small he was to be 5”11 I know guys 5”10 bigger than iverson an I’m 150 pounds at 5”7 makes it greater that he did that when he was so small
It wasn't for RUclips I would have never knew how good Allen Iverson really is or was I guess they made Above the Rim about him too because he graduated in 96 then got drafted above the ring came out 94.
Above The Rim was not about Allen Iverson
Goat💪💪💪💪
I have a whole bunch of Georgetown gear, and I can't picture myself wearing it with anything other than the 11s because of A.I.
