I agree, Carl's arc overall was not bad written, but it ended too soon. The series version of the character should have lived more to become a leader just like his father, the way he was written from the beginning was pointing toward this. This could have happened in Season 9 after Rick's "death", it would be awesome to see that annoying boy from the first season growth as a full man, taking the mantle of his father as one of the leaders alongside Daryl and Michonne. Even Negan's redemption arc could have benefit of Carl's being alive due to how they interacted in Season 8 and due to how Carl wanted a world of peace. His death, alongside Rick's leaving, led the series to not have a protagonist and for me, it was ruined because of it.
i know...i will as soon as i have money to spare on an actual decent one. The last mic i got was a shitty amazon mic that's just worse than my normal laptop mic.
I absolutely hated Carl. I found him irrationally annoying and him trying to be big and bad when Negan shows up just makes him 3x as annoying in my opinion. It was a blessing for me when he died.
Yea, a good chunk of the fanbase feels that way about tv carl. I love comic carl more, but i still love tv carl too, well i love him after his arc in season 2 and onward.
I’ll honestly never understand this opinion. If it was any ADULT character that tried to go to the source instead of Carl, everyone would love that someone was finally tryna take action instead of bowing down under Negan’s boot like Rick at the time. It’s JUST because it was a teenager instead.

KOORRRRRLLLL! That one repeated line is why he needed better plot armour. Just wont be the same without it.

This is obviously cap he wasn’t annoying at all. There was nothing wrong with his character until his death in season 8
