eye got stoned in Wandsworth in the naughties and walked across the common on a sunny evening towards Balham with this on my walkman (still got the tapes Domu, though some need splicing) and it brought me up like i'd just taken something significantly stronger. so many of the sounds were perfect for the sky. special.
Apparently Joshua Eustis is quite adept at holding down a fort. I adore ALL the transformations that have been endured in the last 17 or so years. CCW's passing was incredibly unfortunate. I like, how, within Joshua, the beauty and creativity lives on. Sadly, I have only known their music for 4 years or so. I truly wish that were a lifetime longer. Some of you know what I mean. Keep it real. Love the tunes you love. Throat-punch people who don't understand. Just kidding 🤣. Just give them a gentle nudge in the right direction... THIS direction. Be well, and remain well😃
You mean : Obviously. Not “apparently”. He’s worn many hats. Played with some of the tops. Produced some hidden gems. There no “apparently”. Just facts...
Very akin to some material of The Album Leaf. A great rolling key line, awesome percussive breaks, good low-end roll. Gorgeous composition and track! Great post! Thanks😊
The Album Leaf .. now there's a great band and a personal favorite .. very good comparison, too .. any other bands you could kindly recommend that share this quality?
At a loss, at this point. Dang, you called me out. The Album Leaf were all I had. I will attempt to glean summat and send, in the future. So sorry I could not provide any "new to you" goodies
Joshua Eustis works quite well with Apparat. If nol already done, you may visit some of their adorable goods and TTA remixes of perfectly good Apparat tracks. One remix comes to mind, in particular, kinda, maybe Apparat's. Ugh. Old add man here
@@nathanhammond667 thanks pal. Not familiar with Apparat (or any of the remixes) so I've got some fun homework! ;) Are you familiar with Blue States, by chance, particularly their first two records? Not that I am comparing them to TTA or anything, but they do make some very fine electronica with a cinematic feel. Reason I ask is because I am looking for similar bands from that era (2000s).
@@MrJeffreyromain _Kenotic_ by Hammock is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Album Leaf. Actually I'll just list out from here with some atmospheric work, and since someone mentioned Apparat, I'll include a bit of left-field electronic drone as well. *Hammock* - _Kenotic_ | I recommend a warm, lazy, late afternoon for this one. The one with hazy sunlight filtering through the leaves, shimmering. *The Dead Texan* - _S/T_ | Superb dronework of Stars of the Lid's Adam Wiltzie featuring Christina Vantzou. This leads me to the following: *Christina Vantzou* - _No.1_ *Stars of the Lid* - _The Tired Sounds of the Stars of the Lid_ and 2007's _And Their Refinement of the Decline._ | Early pressings of both of those vinyls fetch big bucks now. *Clogs* - _Last Song e.p._ | The National's Bryce Dessner has written great music for awhile now, with some of his work performed by Kronos Quartet. *Redhooker* - _Vespers_ | Plaintive drone with gorgeous strings. *Slow Six* - _Private Times in Public Places_ | Another great Brooklyn-based (at the time at least) addition. *Balmorhea* - _Rivers Arms_ | Full album available here on YT, their new album _Myth_ was released in February on Deutsche Grammophon. *Nils Frahm* - _Spaces_ | Great introduction to a now well-known artist, producer, and film composer. Full album on YT. Needs a dark room. You'll love this one! *Rival Consoles* - _Odyssey_ | On the same label as Frahm. Sometimes ambient, sometimes beat-focused. *Carl Craig* - _Versus_ | Detroit DJ / electronic producer meets accomplished pianist/composer Francesco Tristano. The remixes and beatless track are great too. *A Winged Victory for the Sullen* - _ATOMOS_ | Spacious, pensive, engaging. Another project featuring work by Adam Wiltzie. Not everyone that adores The Album Leaf will agree with some of the inclusions above, but nonetheless I hope you'll find a few of them soundtracking moments of meaningfulness in your life.
One of the best electronic albums ever made. The sequencing is pure mastery.
yap especially for the time it came out
I still remember hearing this song for the first time all those years ago. This and Prefuse 73 were so fucking far ahead of their time.
Yessss👏
True
Thank you for the reminder ❤
I love this song with all my being
This is so much better than I remember it being...
lost history of the best and most understated era of electronic music
素晴らしい曲。40のオッサンだけど20代から聴き続けています。

There's so much chaos circling the serenity, its genius
Absolutely genius. I'm still amazed by how far ahead of its time it was
Haven't heard this beauty for years, Thanks Ghostly xx
