She is a Contralto!! That is her voice, no gimmicks! Diana is called "The Queen of Goosebumps". She had a tragic childhood. Was left at a bus stop alone as a child with a broken collar bone. Was in several orphanages, didn't speak until she found her singing voice. She is amazing!! You will want to continue down the Dimash & Diana rabbit hole....trust me!!

Diana has what might be called natural polyphony. Standard polyphonic (or overtone) singing uses the tongue to manipulate the resonance of the vocal tract to amplify one of the overtones of the fundamental being produced by the vocal cords (see ruclips.net/video/UHTF1-IhuC0/видео.html ). Diana in contrast has a vocal tract structure that naturally amplifies her overtones, so they're much louder than with most singers, and she doesn't have to use standard techniques to create polyphony. That's not to say she isn't extremely skilled, she has a level of control and breadth of timbre that I haven't heard from anyone else.

Thanks for getting the correct video up for the reaction. Yes that is her voice. As you can see from the other comments (and as you have begun to experience for yourself) she is beyond exceptional. She has an incredible story and she is a very charming person. She has turned down offers from major producers and taken a lot of criticism for it. She realizes she is very young and is in no hurry to become a super star before she is ready. She is finishing her studies at a prestigious performing arts school in Moscow, where she lives in a small apartment with her adoptive mother that she was gifted after winning a major televised youth singing competition. She is still experimenting with different genres and sounds and has a huge catalogue of songs already and is always putting out new material. If you want to begin the journey a good place to start is one of her legendary performances on the "You are Super" contest show when she was 14 and then 15. A supporter of Diana named Kwstas Vagias has a lot of videos not available on her channel. It is not monetized and is intended to get Diana's works out there. Enjoy the journey. Last thing I will say is that on a personal note, I have been listening to all types of music all my life and this young singer is the best thing I have come across in my view. I discovered Diana half a decade ago...listen to her daily....addictive voice. We love her in Texas. Diana has all kinds of frequencies and fragments she produces in her voice...and yeah, it's special...magical. She is 18 here and is currently 20 years old and in the last semester of University studies at The Russian Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow (GITIS). If you want to see something nuts find her DUNE movie soundtrack performance with a live orchestra she released a few months ago. I'm sure the Arrakis mother ship came and picked her back up after the show

Greetings from Scotland! Diana is 20yo currently but I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! You need a little back story to understand what helped "create" this unique phenomenon:-
Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. At 13yo she held her 1st solo concert and one of the songs she sang was in a very rare Sephardic Jewish/Spanish dialect, a song called "Me Voy" (I'm leaving) with a power and emotional commitment that staggers belief! ruclips.net/video/-9_c5fPrqno/видео.html
She was already winning every contest in Russia and other countries that she could get to. Then at 14yo Diana took part in an amazing Russian project "You're Super!" for abandoned/disadvantaged children (because Diana spent time in an orphanage) The 1st song she performed shocked the judges and audience so much, it went viral. D'autre youtuber ont regardé à l'analyseur de fréquence le champ spectral des harmoniques produit sur cette dernières partie. N'ayant pas ce matériel, je vous livre leur contenu.
"Les 3 harmoniques après l'harmonique majeur sont de même énergie", ce qui jusqu'a là est du jamais vue. Les harmoniques sont normalement décroissant (série de Fourier).
"Les harmoniques audiblent vont jusqu'au 7 ième (au moins)", ce qui là aussi est incroyable.
"Dû à tout ces phénomènes, vous entendez effectivement plus d'une fréquence vocal distincte. Certain parle de 2 notes, mais (comme expliqué plus haut) c'est 3 à 4 simultanément."
Des analystes vocal en déduisent que cela est dû à la forme de résonance qu'elle arrive à produire. C'est comme si à l'intérieure de sa george quelqu'un chantait dans une grande salle qui réverbère.
Son larynx et la largeur interne de sa george son unique au monde. Ce qui rend tout tentative de l'imiter "impossible".
Le son réverbère de partout entre la george et la cavité bucal, il sort de façon amplifié sur certaines harmonique par effet de résonance (ceux qui font du traitement de signale comprendront).
Diana l'exprime quand elle répond à Pershuta "Je raisonnais moi même et tremblait pendant ces notes et ne pouvais l'arrêter".
C'est l'une des caractéristiques notable de l'effet de résonance. L'autre est la destruction.

À un détail près c'est que tous les chanteurs Mongols et Chinois du Nord font aussi du chant polyphonique, ça s'apprend. Cela s'appelle le « khoomii » ou chant de gorge. Diana a aussi un PHARYNX en avant ce qui ouvre la caisse de résonance et lui permet la voix de basse.
Non sa voix ne "raisonnait" pas hahaha, mais elle "résonnait" , rien à voir, l'orthographe a un sens !

Alors oui, je sais, je connais. Mais sauf erreur et à moins que vous ayez des liens intéressant sur le sujet que je serais sincèrement ravis de consulter. Les champs polyphonique produise des ondes et ses ondes une fois décomposé en harmonique d'ondes, donne un résultat décroissant d'énergie. De plus la double note audible à une onde qui prédomine l'autre. Là on évoque jusqu'a 7 harmonique audibles dont 4 de même énergie. Ce qui pour une oreille normal n'est de toute façon pas évident à identifier. Sans le spectromètre j'aurais eu du mal à le concevoir.
Juste pour rappel, je ne fais que rapporter l'analyse d'un ingénieur du son qui travail dans le milieu musical et qui visiblement connaît aussi le champ polyphonique. Je ne suis en rien expert :)

The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard and successful to bring back the lost high notes and even expanded her vocal range, currently from C3-D7 (4,1 octaves!). Her genres are folk rock, folk pop, but also jazz, soul, blues, evergreens... and always in the unique Diana style... Tradition meets modernity.
Since singing a cover can be very expensive, Diana often sang very old songs. This secured her the love and gratitude of older listeners and revived the old songs. The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon Diana had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists to start their studies and promote their creativity. Diana won a scholarship and Igor Krutoy (Russian music titan, billionaire, juror and sponsor) gave her a small apartment (37m²/ 398.26 ft²) in Moscow. There she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020). Her Russian fans helped her and found a new voice coach: Alexandra Pismennaya (Sasha), who was a student of Prof. Donskoy. She and Diana are on the same wavelength and even became friends.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier as “normal”, applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is normal and healthy. Now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts (Juilliard similar to GITIS).
In October 2021 Diana was invited to her first adult contest on Russian television 'The ShowMaskGoOn'. She won!!!
In December 2021, Dianas released her first CD with great success. Maestro Krutoy had introduced Diana to the excellent singer, songwriter and producer Brandon Stone. With Maria Tarasenko (songwriter), the trio created the 9 songs of the album and received gold in June 2022.
