I know this is an old series from you but my son turned me onto the game and recommended this playthrough to get me started off with tips and what not. I love watching how you are playing the game as a village planner instead of just a gamer and everything needing to be optimized for performance. Fun to watch and appreciate the content
You’re doing a great job man - voice is poised, enthusiastic yet not hysterical or over excited like other RUclipsrs. Keep it up man, gladly subscribing and commenting so it helps your channel
i have rewatched this series countless times and still find anno hard to process. its fight between growing your population and supplying them with their need. Love this series. It made me fall in love with strategy games. Keep it up please.
47:55 another reason not to overuse propaganda is that your citizens will eventually riot… like a lot. I was dealing with massive riots constantly until I realized this.
Your potato/grain village idea is brilliant. I am definitely stealing it. Already learned a ton from 2 videos. You've done a great job. I definitely prefer realistic, aesthetic and beauty building in these type of games rather than worrying about optimizing everything and filling every available square block with something. I imagine this series will provide a ton of great ideas for that.
I love the way you build your cities and the slow, chill approach ! I'm just a little concerned about the tier-3 AI. She's probably going to go all out on the offensive soon.
The commentary, random tips here and there, gameplay all come into one great video and series. Only on part 2 so far but gosh dang I’m gonna buy the game first thing tomorrow. Can’t believe I’ve never come across this game but I have now. Keep up the good work!
I was hugely into Anno 1404 and my brother kept telling me to buy 1800 and I was like nahh 1404 is the best Anno, but then I did it and now I'll never go back!
I just started watching you, I played the first Anno many many years ago (I guess around 1997/8). Its amazing what the game has become now. The way you are building is really a beauty. Thx.
This series is the best thing I've found this year.. Brings me so much joy during lockdown! Thank you for putting this time into this and can't wait to watch them all. 👌
Two grains to one windmill, 2 pigs to one soap factory... That explains so much as to why I cant keep up with my products no matter what. Took me 30 hours and watching this to figure it out🤦♂️ Jesus
Gasparov isnt a communist, he is an artist striving for perfection in form, stuggling against the chaos that is life and human nature. Love how his islands look
Never too late to start joining a let's play from 2020 haha. I had my doubts that I wouldn't enjoy the cozy style with basic explanations etc, but boy, I'm hooked!
A little late but I'm glad I found this series. Already liking the farm setups from the previous episode. They look way more organic than others who go for the fully efficient approach.
I absolutely love that you don't push for efficiency but show a slightly different side of the game by focusing more on the beauty aspects of the game and trying to give certain areas meaning, like you did with the farmers area in the first episode :)
One hint for posterity: Public buildings extend their range with road quality. So instead of plunking down the 2nd market you could have paved the road. With 94% satisfaction that building would have been well in the 100%.
I wish there was a way to expand the minimap, and pause the game without losing your HUD. It's all a lot to take in and the game seems to enjoy keeping the player a bit in the dark. I know there are fires happening, but I can't respond to them unless I go on a needle scavenger hunt.
If a fire happens a notification appears, click it and itll go straight to it. If its ruins you’re looking for, then J cycles through all ruins. Hope this helps!
So in part one when he said he was using Irish town names from the east coast I shouted “LUSK!!” out loud as it’s where my Irish heritage is from and I’ve visited it a couple of times, once to spread my gran’s ashes. And now we have a LUSK in game 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 pretty ecstatic about this
Just got this game coz of the sale recently. I love watching your videos and learning a few tricks that help me in my own game. Keep up the videos dude.
sometimes while i'm having a mental breakdown I remember something cringe I did which leads to another mental attack and then the mental break downs cancel each other out.
Although Markets and Pubs go well together when you set them right next to each other, they do have different ranges. Also in the interest of not making the "rural" areas too standardized, I recommend putting some distance between the two. Let people walk around a corner to go from buying to drinking, or have a street with houses between them.
just a heads up right mouse click has faster build options. also check out ctrl shift R...enters first person mode which is nice to get a feel for the town/village.
The grain silo not having grain usually happens because you have no extra grain being produced. At least that is what I have deduced. I was having the same problem you were having so I turned off anything that uses grain as a product and after a few seconds a cart finally took some grain to a silo.
Personally I never play anything min/max try to grind out things at full efficiency. This is exactly the way I like to play Anno as well. I little bit of a challenge but making cities I like the look of. I’m the same in RPGs as well. When I played Witcher 3 I never put any old clothes on for the stats. I wore what I liked the look of.
Hi loved the channel. Small suggestion, the algorithm brought me directly to your episode 2 rather than your episode 1 on your other channel. Maybe a link from episode 2 to 1 would help others in a similar case. Chers.
15.14, Noticed it will take a long time to supply the bakeries, no direct road link. Also, grain silos were not invented until 1873. Would there be the technology and machinery around capable of filling a tower Silo?
Hi! I'm new to the game. I don't underatand a thing. Why are you placeing houses in yhe middle of the fields? Aestetic reasons or game mecanics(pesants work faster)? P.s. love this series.
This guide tells you how the game works in a really easy to understand way ruclips.net/video/b1xdE_6C_JU/видео.html As for the farms and houses in the fields, I just did that to make it look nice

Thanks Bill!
Love the time-lapses, allows you to do the city how you want and spares us the boring moments!
I agree with this so much, instead of showing us the boring part in a whole, you make it short and really fun to watch!
Bad boy
That grain village is incredible. Loving this series!

This is very true and earned my subscription :).

Yea, he has a good channel. :)
Yes , I have a playlist with 10h of episodes that I have on at night just to be able to sleep :D

The best line of the stream, " Had to do it. I know, $300 for for that water tower but hey, it looks glorious."
""Welcome to my *cozy* ANNO playthrough"
Cozy indeed, so cozy I'm on a rewatch

Please, do a POV view of the city as a person, from time to time! I love to feel the city and how you can see it evolving over time
please tell me which button I need to press to , for being a pov?

The fire wagons would be called fire engines and that spread of fire is how the great Chicago fire spread wind blows an ember from 1 house to the next

I don't think I'd have the endurance and stress management you have, which is why watching you play is so relaxing. Voice plays a big part too.

So fun and chill to follow along again now that I am on my travels. Cheers Darren.
Stumbled across this let’s play and I’m very happy so far it’s interesting to me as someone who has never played this type of game
I always enjoy your unique way of playing. I always rush through things in these games and don’t sit back and enjoy it like you do.
Gasparov isnt a communist, he is an artist striving for perfection in form, stuggling against the chaos that is life and human nature. Love how his islands look
love this style of build. I can't get on board with the hardcore efficiency layouts. This looks great.
I'm so angry the soap boat isn't called Irish Spring xD

A bit late to the party 😂. Just started playing this game and loving it so far. Thanks for the great videos. Love the voice over 🙂👍
Love the videos and your voice, so nice just to lay down with coffee, chill and watch
Just started this series, so relaxing and enjoyable. Seriously considering buying anno now as well! Thanks for being a great host.
Anno looks great. Something to watch from you. Love the content, makes for good back ground noise and or chilling in the freezer. 🤣🥳
A little late but I'm glad I found this series. Already liking the farm setups from the previous episode. They look way more organic than others who go for the fully efficient approach.
I absolutely love the little farming villages. Definitely stealing that idea.
I absolutely love that you don't push for efficiency but show a slightly different side of the game by focusing more on the beauty aspects of the game and trying to give certain areas meaning, like you did with the farmers area in the first episode :)
I love this game, not playing yet. Always happy to watch you play.
Highly recommand to start!
Hey, just got the game and have been learning a ton from this series and it's great semi-background work watching.
Town looks great, looking forward to the next part.
When you come back and watch the let’s play for a second time cause it’s that good and entertaining. You make great stuff with this game!
Thank you!
This series is making me want to play Anno 1800 again.
I love how you design the city
Sausage rolls are very important ofc but don't forget to drink some water as well. Love the new series! Cheers :)
This is just amazing gameplay. It has helped me learn a lot more to the game and has given me inspiration. Thanks!

Just picked up the base game, can't wait to see how it plays out and slowly pick up the dlc spent hundreds of hours on 2070 and 2205

Darren your Irish and you needed a soap brand so you of course went with Johnson’s......... IRISH SPRING DARREN! IRISH SPRING!

It's a good point! Will try not always have them next to eachother all the time
Love it so far. Should do them more frequently if you could!
Some months late, but i am really enjoying the series and the build style ect..
Just found the new video and loved it so now im binging the whole series :))
This series is addictive keep up the great work!
Why did u put pubs and marketplaces in the middle of the farming zone? Just curious 🧐
Because the farmer households require it to be closeby
just a heads up right mouse click has faster build options. also check out ctrl shift R...enters first person mode which is nice to get a feel for the town/village.

Any water mills? Perhaps more fire brigades locations?
Can you talk about the pros & cons of upgrading your Port vs building a Storage Warehouse at the port
Enjoying very much
bonsoir,

Do any of the DLCS over go on sale? Or has it been a set price since release?

15.14, Noticed it will take a long time to supply the bakeries, no direct road link.

back in the day the fire trucks were called fire pumpers, pumper wagons, or just pumper
this game looks way better than it has any need to. absolutely beautiful
Best comment i've heard in a long time. Why did you not come op with silos earlier. I don't know DLC i guess XD
Should I buy the complete edition for $50 or just get the standard for $20, are the DLC's worth it?
i like how the city looks, the only thing i wish changed is how there's a long strip of 2 width wheat farm ;-P
When you say mill, as a hoi4 fan, i think of military factories (mils are a short word)
I have joined your channel. Well done on your videos. I have a question: what does 3/5 mean in Sheepfold Livestock Area? Thanks.
How nice of you to name a town after me
You deserve more subs
Why did you placed a market and pub near the grain farms?
I placed Farmer Houses in and around the farms because it looks nice, and they need a market and pub to be happy
@@WhatDarrenPlays oh ok, cool. Nice touch
Fire engine? And I'm pretty sure I saw an innocent looking granny bolting towards the woods right after the fire started.
Maybe consider a main blvd with all your municipal building located there?

Is this a specific DC? I like that era city building.
