Loved the Video it’s great how you make lite of your misfortunes 👍…also you should have tied that dead Caribou to that back of your Van and dragged it while driving to leave a sent trail maybe that would have helped your chances of seeing a Polar Bear up close 🤔🤔😂😂
Honestly, this trip was magical in a lot of ways but also very stressful. I’m sure you could tell I was a little stressed at some points 😅 We like to share the ups and the downs of everything and do our best to make lite of any situation we’re in. Hahaha! Yes that could have worked 😂
It does NOT matter what you set a diesel heater on, it starts up on HIGH until it reaches full internal temp. It is more than likely the intake is plugged up with ice or road grime, as I am sure you made the mistake of installing it with the intake outside. Hence, when you removed the small debris filter, it started up.
@@jbusley Propane has many drawbacks. If it is a RV furnace, they use extreme amounts of power for the blower fan, and a ton of fuel as propane is not energy dense. If you mean something like a Buddy Heater, well, 1 cup of water put into your RV for every pound of propane burned, which causes endless problems. In 6 winters I am on my second Chinese diesel heater and to be fair, my current one has been great for most of that time, but I did have to replace the glow plug recently. Chinese diesel heaters use 5X less power and 3X less fuel than a propane furnace and since it is exhausted outside it puts zero water into the air. All those channels make content to earn a living. Drama sells, and what can me more dramatic than "Oh NO it's -40 and we have no heat" ?
New guy here! Your leaving us hanging 😂 On a Side note, I'd Maybe have an electric heater perhaps can be plugged into the parking stall cords for Block heaters? In an emergency. Or maybe even charge batteries. You guys should also consider partnering up with Ecoflow or Bluetti Lithium power banks as a Sponsor. Cheers from Toledo you 2
Welcome! Hahaha this Arctic adventure series has left a lot of cliff hangers 😅 thanks for the ideas, we will look into it for our next Arctic adventure! We’re currently heading to the sunny south now! But these are great tips! Thank you! Cheers!
Our good, old paint job we did back in June definitely made it look more new haha! Yeah, It's storage space above, and it's pretty strong. We definitely want to make it more aesthetic 😂
We were spending our last few weeks in Alaska and wanted to get the most out of it while we were there so that meant less time working. We filmed 5 videos worth of content in 5ish days and we try to release one video each week, so they all end up pretty spread out. We are currently catching up on a lot, and will be trying to release videos within a few weeks of filming. It was also hard for us to get access to wifi at times during our time in Alaska so we had to be strategic about it 😅 I hope that answers your question! 🤗
Writing from Redding, CA. Certain parts of the piano soundtrack from around the 32 - 36 minute markers triggered a cool memory for me. Back in the 80s, one of the stupidest movies ever made contained one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. It's a short, unfinished 40 second piano piece. (oddly enough, composed by the actor who performed it in the crappy movie) I really can't overstate how moving it is; It has haunted me for decades. It starts at the 20 second mark, after the random key smashing nonsense: ruclips.net/video/uHSOsNt__8Q/видео.html

Lots of van lifers doing the northern adventure these days. Fantastic place, but it's all fun and games until the van won't start. Always be ready.
It sure can be a little scary 🫣 definitely wouldn’t be a fun time if the van wouldn’t start
Your little foxes are so cute!
Thanks!
Amazing video guys!

I’ve yet to see a channel with a diesel heater that works consistently. Why I went propane. Has never failed me. Not once. And it’s silent

😢 watching the eyeball thing 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
It hurt so much when the piece was stuck inside in the beginning 😢 felt like there was a small piece irritating my eye all day after that
@kristascompass hope it's better now ❤️
You need to put something like cardboard in the grill in front of the radiator that will help you to get some heat in the van
We were originally going to and we definitely should have 😅

Your vehicle doesn't look 20yrs old, until I noticed,is that plywood above the driver and passenger seat?

What's in all those warehouses? Hmmm Wonder where the tunnels are? Why so secure? hmmm
Tin Foil Hats maybe?
That why you always have a back in Alaska a stove would been perfect
The date in your journal said Nov 9 but today is Jan 13. Not being a van lifer, why such a delay from taping to reality?
