Okabe retaining his memories is separate from the fact that he is changing the worldline. The only thing Okabe does, is that he sends a message to the past. He himself isn't traveling, so there is no reason for him to retain his memories of the previous worldline. So from that we can conclude that there is a different reason as to why he does retain his memory.
The fact that their open window actually makes it easier to hear their discussions can alleviate some of my doubts about Suzuha. I continue to think Suzuha is from the future and may have something to do with John Titor. 🔥🔥🔥

BUT the mail was sent 1 week back in time, so that time diff+specific text, would have made it significant to have ramifications, as opposed to sending some banana gel back in time 2 minutes or whatever it was then, so even if the gel bananas have significance, the world line is maybe just then getting split/modified, so he doesn't need to "jump", he can just continue on the new path if it was set.
This is one of the first episodes that caught me off guard. Like literally thought i knew something then bam, it's not like that at all. More episodes to go. Im curious, Will you be able to predict the next events?

nah, it's because he analyzes almost every line lol. when I watched it, I absolutely had no idea what this show was about. I didn't know it's about time travel or even its genre so the events hit me hard when sht hit the fan lmao
