Creating Movement - Fluid Art with Arteza Metallics & the Swipe Technique

Using my Arteza Metallic paints I wanted a puddle pour but on a long 12 x 24 canvas. I didn't break up my colours before I swiped and ended up with some very linear lacing. So I set about breaking up my lines to create movement and flow. I also had my paints a bit thinner than usual so got some very fine lacing. I think it turned out beautifully!

Beautiful colors, Fiona. You mentioned your paints were thinner than normal. Does that cause finer lacing lines? I’m still using a consistency chart (even after almost a year). What consistency do you usually make your paints and how much thinner were these? Thanks!

I sometimes still use a consistency chart too, been doing this for just over a year now. These were a fraction thinner. Instead of being around or just past a 5 on my scale, they were closer to 6. I believe that's one of the reasons for finer lines, the other was because I didn't tilt excessively. My opinion, 😉
