172 is really good considering you only started in August though. When I started birding in 2021, I started in March and only saw 144 species thar year. I saw 192 in 2022, 294 in 2023, and 264 in 2024.
It was an awesome year for birding and a real pleasure to watch your videos! For myself, this was my 2nd year birding and I got to 313 birds species worldwide and 307 in my country. A total of 296 birds species seen this year with 108 lifers!
Wow 271 on video in 2024 is a great total! As a fellow RUclipsr I know it must have taken you a long time to put all those short clips together…. I believe I had about 230 birds shown on my channel last year - hoping for more in 2025.
It was a few days of editing and going through old clips haha. What an awesome start for your channel! That's about 40 more than what I had last year in my first year on RUclips. Hope you have an amazing 2025!
Thank you for sharing this awesome list and the images! Two things really hit home for me while watching this: 1. Biodiversity rules. 2. There are still A LOT of eponymous bird names to change. Looking forward to birding in 2025!
Good Morning 🌅 to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Just two more days before the New Year. I’d love to see what new species of birds you can capture 📹📸on your ‘LIFER’ list. Looking forward a Great New 2025 as well as to your new video adventures. Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR has the Oriental Magpie which is somewhat larger and much stalkier than the western counterparts. We also have several species of Egrets ( Lesser) Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Greater Egrets, Chinese Egrets) in the New Territories of HKSAR along the waterfront promenade along with other shore birds (Common Kingfisher, White-throated Kingfisher, White-breasted Waterhen, Black-throated Laughingthrushes, Masked Laughingthrushes, Oriental Magpie Robin, Black Kite, Greatee Coucal, Red-billed Blue Magpie, Common Tailorbirds, ………etc. too many to name ……😁😁😁😁😁
Congrats on the lifers! I've enjoyed your birding trips, and to learn of all the birds from your side of the world. Have a wonderful new year, looking forward to more!
Wow, Jordan, this video was quite the undertaking! What a great showcase of western birds! Some favorite clips: Dipper, Varied Thrush eating the berries, and all the grouse species especially my nemesis Ruffed Grouse which I never saw back east. (Was it in Utah?) I looked up the Brambling - had never heard of it - good find. Thank you for all your editing work and creating this awesome record. Happy New Year! ~Sandy
Hi Sandy! Those were some of my favorites to see! Ruffed Grouse was in Utah, and if you ever come visit, I can take you to them! Brambling was probably the rarest bird I've ever seen in Utah! Thanks so much for watching!
What a collection of birds! The woodpeckers are always favorites for me personally. Thanks for the shoutout it was so awesome that you got me more into the hobby and I’m glad to have been a part of your channel this year!
Greetings from Melbourne in Australia. Congratulations on an amazing 2024! You've done a terrific job locating so many great birds. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching every episode and always look forward to receiving an alert that you've posted a new one. All the best for 2025. P.S....the Pink Robin is waiting for you!
Happy New Year!! What an incredible year of birding for you. I had my best year of birding this year also and am so grateful for your virtual friendship and for the community you've created!
Happy new year!! It was such a good year! Super happy to see how well you did this year as well! And yes, I'm so happy we are friends and can't wait to see what happens in 2025!
Such an awesome video! Hopefully you dont mind if i put in a suggestion/ request/ hope for 2025, and that is that you and Hawkin team up again for 1)go owling, 2) go back to the Uintas, 3) do some bird festivals and 4) go seeking the Greater Sage Grouse. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into these videos. I look forward to them each week. And good luck with all your schooling and happy healthy new year to you and your family 🎉
Congratulations! I’ve loved watching your channel. I have a RUclips channel that I’m signed into, but I hardly ever make videos for it. I’ve thought about making some birding videos even though I’m still a novice birder. I’ve thought about trying to video or photograph (and make a video slideshow) of at least 100 birds and upload them this year. Compared to 270 it’s a tiny number, but I have trouble with undervaluing my abilities. Plus I hate my voice on video. I’d still like to try.
Thanks so much! I appreciate it! My advice to you is: GO FOR IT! There is no shame in trying it out! There is also no shame in trying it and stopping. Best case scenario you end up loving it, worse case you decide it's not for you! Give it a shot :D
It's been great to see this channel grow. You're one of my favorite bird tubers and I really admire the work and thought you put into it. You deserve a bigger following and I hope 2025 will bring more subscribers, and that you'll be able to get to some new locations to bird. I wish you the best in your studies and hope you and your family have a healthy, prosperous new year.
On Christmas I went to this really cool hiking trail in San Jose California it was on top of a mountain I got a tip from someone on Facebook that it a great place to see golden eagles. I saw tons of eagles the hiking trail was called Sienrra Vista trail. I had a really fun time watching them fly by me really low to the ground amazing place I want to visit that place again in the future
Congrats on 316.
I'm at 172, but I started in August.
I'm hoping both of us can get even more next year.

Congrats on an amazing start! Remember, it's not about the number of birds, but the journey! Amazing work!

Hey I made the cut! Glad to see the birds we saw together here in San Diego. Very cool seeing all those birds you filmed last year!
Absolutely! Thanks so much for the awesome San Diego guiding! Looking forward to returning sometime soon!

Woodpeckers are so so cool! Thanks for joining me on these adventures! I'm looking forward to 2025!
Amazing collection! I share your videos with an 85 year old family friend in India who also enjoys them immensely. 💜
Thanks so much! Aw I'm really happy to hear that! I hope you both have a fantastic 2025!

Thanks so much for watching! I like your suggestions! I'll see what I can do for the upcoming year! Happy new year!
Love the video! I did however notice that you put Red-breasted Merganser in there twice at #55 and #153
Thanks for watching! It's probably Red-breasted and Common. I'm surprised I only mixed up one bird. Thanks for the heads up.
