    You have to consider that there are some people who are willing to spend more if the testing process yields consistent results. You should have expounded on the benefits of purchasing the BIOSENSE over the other ketones testing methods. Considering that the BIOSENSE device is a one-time purchase and does not require changing the sensor after X amount of uses. As of right now, no RUclipsr has done an in-depth comparison between ketone breath analyzer devices such as BIOSENSE and Ketoscan.

    Urine sticks are meant to approximate WASTED ketones. Blood ketones measure CURRENT ketone level. Breath meters are also measuring waste

    The strips worked very well at first and after a few months they show nothing for me. My mojo is lots lower after 3 years also. I rarely get over 0.6 unless I fast and than it takes about 24 hrs on a 36 hr fast to get it above 1.0

    So I just ordered a Keto-Mojo for my son for a Christmas present - he needs the motivation to stay on track. They are currently having a promo and actually send you a discount code before you order (so many places send you a discount for your “next” order instead). Hope it reasonably lives up to the hype.

      i have the old style Keto Mojo and and they now have a new style and a "trade up" program where you trade in your old style unit, I upgraded mostly since Keto Mojo is no longer making testing strips for the older style. The have an an app where the new style tester will connect to your phone and keeps track of the results for you

    Hi, thanks for the informative video as ever. I do think that if you are serious about getting into ketosis and staying there a blood ketone meter is the only way. I no measure my blood sugar and blood ketones once a week which I find enough, having been following this way of eating for a couple of years now. I use an On-Call Meter (UK) which measures both blood sugar and ketones. So one device for both, it's very easy.

    If you can taste a constant sweetness in your mouth, is that acetone? Urine strips no longer show anything for me, even with a 24+ hour fast. Ketodoc meter is apparently out-of-date technology, I can no longer find the strips.

    What about your body actually using those ketones? When in ketosis does your body regulate the ketones it makes (demand / supply) or does it just crank out lots of ketones whether you need them or not and you discard what isn't used? Surely your body makes what it needs and so potentially you may not be showing high ketone levels in your blood???

    Are the fancy "300 dollar range" acetone breath meters really that much better than the cheap Chinese ones that you can get on ebay at around 30 dollars? If the same technology is used, a semiconductor that senses acetone in the breath, then I frankly don't think so. I have a cheap, Chinese one myself and I think it's reliable and shows consistent enough results for everyday use. The blood strips are just too expensive...

    • @SeahawkAz

      breath meters only register acetone, BHB is what is important and breath meters will not detect that

    • @altmuligmannen3086
      @altmuligmannen3086 3 года назад

      @@SeahawkAz Breath acetone meters are a reasonable alternative way of tracking your level of ketosis, and I am fully aware that breath meters don't measure BHB. Breath acetone levels are just another indicator of ketosis, and tends to correlate with BHB levels. Breath acetone will also be a more immediate indicator, as BHB levels can have some lag to actual momentary ketosis. What makes you think that measuring BHB is more important?

      I have been keto for 4 years. Stage 3. My GFR has gone down steadily 1-2 points over the years with my GP telling me there's nothing that can be done. I finally went to a Nephrologist in Feb and he rec'd cutting out veg.
      I have been Ketovore more close to Carnivore since. My labs are checked every other month. My GFR went from 47 to 66. My final visit is tomorrow and I am excited to see my new and even more improved number.
