- You watch this video, because you’re in love with Byzantium, and the Roman Empire, so what if Byzantium returned in the 18th century? Russia had a plan to restore Byzantium and destroy the Ottoman Empire. How is that possible, and what would it look like, let us find out!
Russia at the beginning of the 18th century was an emerging power, with great potential. Russia was lacking in one thing; this is access to the world’s oceans and trade. Sweden and Poland-Lithuania were blockading the Baltic Sea, with the Ottoman Empire controlling the Black Sea, together with their vassal of the Crimean Khanate.

Suggestions:
• What if Poland followed the Piast doctrine (pushing for post-WW2 borders but in the 1920s)?
• What if the 8-Nation Alliance lost to the Chinese in 1900?
• What if Cyprus seceded and joined Greece in the 1830s (which would negate the whole Ottoman treaty with the British)?
• What if Serbia and Romania united in the 1870s?

@@BigScreamingBaby nah, just something out of pocket. He did a scenario already about Serbia uniting with Bulgaria to create Yugoslavia before WW1, and he did a scenario about Bulgaria uniting with Romania. Now it's time to see Serbia x Romania. It's just hypothetical.

@@NovikNikolovic yeah but the Bulgaria one was an actual proposal that could have happened if Bulgaria chose the King if Serbia as their king after ousting the former one I don't see how Romania and Serbia could have united as neither of their Dynasties held claim to the others throne.

What if the republic of Corsica United Italy with Napoleon as king emperor of Italy

A few things that l would change , l'd give some if not most parts of the macedonia region to bulgaria kinda like the san stefano borders , and l tkink that neo byzantium to have a similar system to poland-lithuania where the people can pick which monarch can rule over them (correct me if l may be wrong ), but l'm not sure if it would even be possible at that period . And l would like to see a follow up on this scenario like nepoleon becoming the king of this byzantine empire .

If Byzantium survived the Napoleonic wars in this timeline, I feel they would be dangerously affected by the revolutions of 1848, with Albanian, Bulgarian, and Turkish uprisings. Great video!
Not neccesarily turkish uprising. While Turkish lands around Aegean sea are undeniebly Turkish it was only that way after the failure of Megali idea after ww1. In this idea Greece was supposed to get all of Aegean including coast of Asia Minor but when they lost the war Greeks in Asia Minor all packed up And left to modern days Greece . In order to preserve balance of powers Ottomans wouldnt be destroyed completelly but would likelly loose large part of Middle East and all access to Aegean, probably would end up the same way as Megali was supposed to

I would like to see What if the Greeks were ruled by an actual Greek monarch following its independence instead of Otto, that way it could pursue its own ideals and interests, like harassing the Ottomans as they declined further in the aftermath of the Napoleonic wars, and it could use Ottoman weakness in the Russian wars as opportunities to make gains.

Suggestion: What if the convention of 1800 failed/never happened?
The only problem was that both Russians and Austrians had (traditionally) no regard of the orthodox interests and positions of the local populations.
For them was just a game.
This is why the local population was sometime even on the Turks side rather on the "liberators" side that only wanted more land and nothing more.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I happen to live in Azov, its an interesting historical city in southern Russia, it has some old fortifications leftover from the times of Krimean Khanate ruling this land and centre is a very beautiful part of the town, it's architecture is really nice and looks like historical buildings from Saint Petersburg or Moscow. Basically centre and historif parts aee only worth to check out if you have a chance, other part of the town is just sad soviet architecture...

- Anastania Romanov DID SURVIVE (NOT DEAD NOR MISSING) from the massacre from the Reds
- The Whites won the civil war
- Anastasia became the Tsarina
- Peaceful negotiations and reconciliation between Whites and Reds
- Russia will became more federalize, liberalize, and democratize as a constitutional monarchy similar to UK with socialist principles

The thing is both Byzantium and the Roman Empire was alive and well in 1790. It was under Turkish rule. Changing it to Russian rule is not restoring. It is just changing the rulers.

The straight line was an actual proposal by Austria, I'm not making it up.

Dude why when you talk about austria annexing serbia it shows also annexing macedonia. Its a rightful bulgarian territory.
He used 1914 borders so macedonia was included as it was apart of serbia
It would the the Roman Empire being brought back. They could have done it and the population there wasn't to far removed from the days of Rome. It would be a hard struggle to get back on its knees. Either that or just move the capital to Constantinople rather then Moscow. This might have an interesting situation if they could manage it.
