I am friends with the Borders farmer lady who is responsible for the Wojtek statue in Princes Street in Embra where Wojtek lived with Polish troops on her Fathers' farm.. My Dad was part of the Polish forces in WW2 in Italy at the battle of Monte Cassino, and ended the war with The 1st Polish armoured division in North Germany. He knew of Wojtek and often took me to Edinburgh Zoo when I was very young to "meet" Wojtek . An fascinating story :)
It’s all about the Monkeys and the Bears ! Great story, I reckon it’s true. Glad you are enjoying life on the Monkey too. I find they are so infectious to ride, and I now begrudge spending fuel money on my bigger bikes. 😁👍
Another grand wee trip on your wee Monkey Bike. Your trip with Mikey to the Alps will be something I'll really look forward to. Your Borders countryside is almost as good as our Highland, almost. Thanks for taking us along.
The answer is yes, for us the viewers it was worth you getting absolutely soaked, another quality production. I'm down the Alps ;ate August, I'll now be on the lookout for two Monkey's there.
Well I enjoyed the Wojtek story and bits to see. If your ever up Montrose way look for the statue of Bamse the dog. (Bamse seems to be Norwegian for bear)
Thanks for sharing about Wojtek ,re Bamse /Montrose ,the sculpture /info board is next to Life Boat Station, also recommend Stroma Restaurant across from Bamse .Check what day Stroma may be closed.Defo Bear paws.Nastrovia 🇵🇱🐻❄️🏴

Thanks Hugh! Aye, it's nice around the borders and East Lothian and we don't get as many camper vans!
I hate camper vans! 😠 The NC500 has really brought problems.

Spot on Mike, though I can't condone a bear vandalising trees. Calm doon Wojtek!
Ha ha! Calm doon Wojtek ya radge!
I thought it was pronounced white adder reservoir. Every day's a school day. 👍😎
We've always called it the "whitadder".
@@yodagoat just local pronunciation probably, my favourite through my way is kilncadzow pronounced "kill-caigie" 🤔🤣
Cool video with the Monkey.
Btw there's a typo in the title (solider, soldier)
Thanks for that! All correct now?
@@yodagoat It looks clean. And I just subscribed.
Thanks!
