- Building Hobbyboss RAFALE M 1/48 scale model kit as weathered French Marine colors.
A lot of correction, weathering, scratch building and more.
Is it possible to make this model into a suitable Rafale just as it comes out of the box ? Many parts of the fuselage are compatible with the prototype version. Many details are not given. Some should be changed. Reskit has nice sets on this subject that you can use in this model.
If you want to make a realistic Rafale with this model, the steps I have experienced will be useful to you. I have collected the dozens of corrections and additions I made to the model under 9 main topic. You will also see other corrections under each main topic:
00:56 Correction 1: Cockpit.
07:17 Correction 2: Pylons.
07:58 Correction 3: Nose.
09:38 Correction 4: Lights.
10:49 Correction 5: Flare Dispersers.
12:13 Correction 6: Gun Section.
18:19 Correction 7: Decals.
20:18 Correction 8: Lower Engine Compartment.
23:50 Correction 9: Wrong Panel Lines.

Lots of surgery to turn out a nice model. I still have the revell A and B version in my stash. Will try to build one soon.
Revell is better than HB models, so i think, your progress will be much easier 😉

Good job. I have not your skill to do a such result with this kit. Perhaps one day Tamiya or Eduard will launch French jets as the Rafale and the Mirage.
It is a very famous fighter, but there is definitely a lack of model of Rafale.
If Tamiya produce a Rafale, that would be awesome!

@ericchubb1025 I used translation but I didn't understand anything from it either. Yes, many parts of the model, including the decals, were bad. I'll keep in mind the decal company you mentioned.

Can you tell us who makes that triangle cutting template you used? FANTASTIC build!!!!
It is products of Border model, but i dont like it so much. Because it is full metal, so it often damage the knife. I mean, sharpness of the knife it alway reducing. I prefer it as cutting matt.
I love this. Im plodding through the Revell kit.....so much of this is familiar! What is the metal template you used for the tape cutting, it looks an excellent tooland the effect is superb.

@@ugurkenel ok got it few years ago and have yet to build it.have it in storage till I can get a place.rv is not big enough to build some of these kits...lol
