Just before opening RUclips, I took a coin and flipped it to figure out whether I should participate this year or not (yes, that is how I make a lot of decisions when I'm in a fix); and the coin said I should. I opened RUclips, and this video is the first thing I see.....

I love the tip about doing writing sprints and taking breaks to be physically productive. Helps writing, keeping the brain fresh, and getting other chores done at the same time. I'll definitely be trying this out

Hey Sara! I published a book yesterday, got my first paperback copy today! I just wanted to say that you are a huge inspiration for me and I am using these tips to write the companion novel I have planned (which I am already 11,000 words into)

11:40 OMG. This is the best. I couldn’t stop laughing,… in a good way ;) it reminded me of the Trolls movie when Bridget has the happiest day of her life, “I’m so excited I could just scream” and she whisper screams. Lol. “That’s your happy shout?!”
    You da bomb girl!

Great set of tips! I definitely need to take advantage of every moment next month (SAHD with 3 kids) and remember that every moment counts. So far the last 2 years I've managed 50,000 words in... 3 months starting in November. We'll see what I can manage this year.

I have written one book so far, this will be my second. I technically have like 4 books in progress and I have like 12 fully outlined stories. I am super excited to participate in NaNo this year.

Thank you for the tips 😊 i just did some writing and it feels great 👍 can't wait to get to November and start working on my NaNo project 😃 for editing as you go, you might consider just make notes as you go in your notebook if you need to make any changes later.

I often found myself stuck at how to make story grow. I can rapidly write a short scene in a paragraph around 100-200 words, but to grow the story, that's currently biggest problem for me.

These tips were very helpful! I love your celebration dance, I think I'll have to do something like that myself. I finished my 50k goal last year for the first time after trying for ten years, but I didn't do little rewards for myself, and you're the second person I've seen have that as a tip in the last week so I'm feeling like that's something that needs to happen this year!

Yes about the first draft being bad! I used to teach college English and literature, and I would assign Anne Lamott's chapter "Shitty First Drafts," from her book Bird by Bird. Same concept (but funny!).

Good afternoon, Sara! You look beautiful in the video, and I loved watching this vlog. Thanks for the advice you gave to inspire others who are doing NaNoWriMo this November including yourself. Have you thought of what story you're interested in doing, or is there a new story that you thought of instead? I'm going to be working on my story I'm already in the process of writing. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your week. Happy writing, planning, editing, or whatever. ❤
