Congrats on your first video! 🎉
Glad you liked the butter chicken 😆
Thank you . This was helpful as I’m planning to go this way 🇦🇺🙌❤️
Thanks for this. Using the ZPT sleeper Sydney / Melbourne return and Sydney / Byron Bay return in June. Found this really informative and helpful. Have read nightmare reviews so it was reassuring. Will be trying to get a bottom bunk though, I'd be petrified about falling out. Surprised there are no safety rails.
I travelled the other way in May, and the XPT wasn't bad, but it was definitely a step down from the glory days of the Southern Aurora back in the 70s and 80s, for one main reason: the shared bathroom! Way back then, each dual compartment had its own bathroom and shower; none of this having to go next door IF it was free unless you were in a single compartment. From unreliable memory, the compartment was bigger, too. The journey was okay, but I'd think twice before doing it again. Overall, the XPT is not as good as what it replaced.
3 seats but 2 beds? Is is possible to book one of these cabins for a family of 3 (2 adults and a 5 yo)?
@Subh8081 I think that is possible, but definitely give them a call and check
did you find the ride bumpy? they have had problems for years especially between albury and the outskirts of melbourne but this is one of the newer ones i found on yt
@Roadrunnerz45 Some parts were a little bumpy, but overall it wasn't too bad. Managed to get a decent enough sleep.
Immediate subscribe since we share a name. Nice to see another Chris Mills in the wild. 😄.. It sounded like the A/C wasn't working correctly in your compartment, worth reporting since these are 40+ year old trains and things can and will break down.
@Sniffy1975 A rare sighting haha! Would be worth reporting, but these trains will soon be retired
I travelled once on the XPT a few years ago. I'm surprised the thing is still running. It's so old now. I used to put my Grandfather on the XPT to travel to Sydney and that was back in the early 1980's. The NSW Government promised election after election for the past 30 years that they would replace it. Try travelling on the Qld tilt train. It's way better than the XPT.
@@robertgarland9342 The tilt train is next on the list!
I’m with you. Come to Victoria our trains are embarrassing. N class locos very ancient rolling stock. Slow as buggery. A complete joke
