  • Welcome back to another Trackside Adventure.
In this video, we will follow the iconic CP 2816, a Hudson Class Steam Locomotive, as it thunders along CPKC's Red Deer Subdivision between Red Deer and Calgary. For the last several months, the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway has been conducting test runs with this locomotive in preparation for the upcoming Final Spike Anniversary Steam Tour, which is expected to kick off on April 24, 2024. We were lucky enough to seize the opportunity to film the 2816 on one of its test runs in March 2024.
We invite you to follow on this fast-paced chase, and we hope you enjoy the video just as much as we enjoyed filming it.

Any New York Central fan who watches this, could only think of what could (or should) have been, had any J-class Hudson been preserved...

The 2816 has a 3 chime and a 5 chime. They used the 3 chime for most of it!

@@SD70ACEguy I never knew that there was a chime on a train whistle. I thought there was only wind chimes.

@@SD70ACEguy the 5 Chime sounds way better than the three chime honestly, that’s just me though
