@@SmartCookie2022no, if we didn’t have that mid season slump we win the league. Last season April we capitulated, lost to United and drew to relegation teams. This new Arsenal is so much better even if the points only reflect a minor improvement.
It’s not much, much better! It’s evolution. We’re evolving in the right way which is in contracts to post invincible which was the last time we consistently improved year on year.

Barcas entire squad has been pretty injired this year. Its down to squad management not the individual players. Frenlie has everything you think he doesnt, similar to kai's situation before we signed him @zsomalino
Barca have had him on the market for a few years they can’t wait to see the back of him. He has flopped massively
just on the point around 12:30 Havertz is a better left 8 DEFENSIVELY than Xhaka was. Xhaka was only really effective in the defensive third. He didn't often apply much pressure, except for more last ditch attempts.
On the ball it's a different story, tbc on whether Havertz can do more. But the issue with Rice at 6 is that the team tends to lack vertical passing which Partey and Xhaka excel at. Rice doesn't often pass between the lines which allows defences to settle into position.
Hi Charles, I like Sesko. Very good potential. If we can't get Isak then get Sesko. I'm like you. I love Rice as 8 as he is very good at the press, box to box and even attacking input with his drive and runs. Good with both feet. We also need a top 6, maybe a winger and defender. I think we need to get that left side functioning better, and i havent really seen that with Rice left 8 and Trossard or Martinelli left wing. A more creative, ball playing left 8 can hopefully help get more out of Martinelli again
Remember Tuchel commentating on that right side link up we have, and planning for it. I think we need more balance on left to make it harder for opponents

We're not going to score a lot of goals in this game.
We're writing Everton off far too easily. If they had not had points deducted they would have been on the same points as Bournemouth and Brighton and not far behind West Ham, so by no means a walk in the park.

Hey Charles, I'm with you on no big changes for the start of next season, as we have been amazing this year, we have a winning formula in the usual starting 14 or 15 players, what we need to do to is keep new signings back until they have learnt how MA wants them to play in this team, got things to click in their unit and between them and the units around them.
It's a big learning curve as we know. A good pre-season will help, but with the internationals going on at the time there will be players missing, meaning no getting to play in a unit with them or learn how to play in a unit around them.
Last thing we need is a new starting line up at the start of the season, regardless of who we bring in.
Hi Charlies, great content. We're all thinking abour the Man City/West Ham game, but we're all forgetting that we have to win too!
I think the idea of Sesko makes a lot of sense. Havertz deserves to carry on at 9 and I think if we were to sign an Isak or a 'Rice signing' as you guys called it in that position I think it'd undo all the good work the club has done with Kai and upset his confidence...now if Havertz hadn't shown the levels up front, then I think we really would have gone in for a big money, proven striker, but I think what I like about it best is it shows our class yet again in our we treat our players - Eddie who you'd imagine Sesko would probably replace it's not a case of replacing Eddie for a similar age player suggesting he wasn't good enough to be in the squad, it's a signing for the future and allows Eddie to hold his head high and hopefully do well elsewhere.
If Partey is sold then I think Guimaraes is a good replacement - he can rotate 6/8 with Rice. However, I agree that de Jong would be my no.1 pick for an 8. Sesko for €45m is a good deal. Is last year's window a pointer to spend? £105m, £65m, £38m.

Sesko’s release clause is NOT 40ish mil, but actually over 60 mil. How do people feel about that if it’s true? Is he still worth that kind of money?
It’s simple, City have not felt the pain of the referee’s bad call all season. If we are going to get anything we have to hope the football gods spoke to the PGMOL.
I think the man Sam is describing is Eberechi Eze. Who along with Tosin Adarabioyo would be my first two signings of the window. Also I can see ESR at somewhere like Palace, I can see some good business there.
What it’s going to boil down to as it always does is the matchups for the final day.
I know we want a lot of players and that’s awesome but they have to be I’m like you Charles I want Isak but I think there’s absolutely no chance but I really do like Sesko and totally gettable ! Did I Frankie even less chance of getting him cause him and his girlfriend/wife love Spain and are happy there I just think we can’t waste time on non-gettable’s chase players who want to come to Arsenal and I think there are players like that . We mainly need to keep the majority of our players together cause we are getting better and better so tweaks are the best as we are getting closer and closer to titles and trophies. Midfield 6 or 8 as a necessity. Also a central defender. I know that Frankie DeJung has any interest. I do believe that interest in Arsenal is a critical factor for the evaluation.
Rice isn't a number 8...he can play there but when compared to other no. 8s like De Jong, pedri, Kross; Rice isn't nowhere as good passing the ball as they are. He's a world class number 6 and that should he his position. Our biggest weakness in our squad is a left 8. I agree 10000% with Sam, De Jong is the answer or someone close to his profile. Don't forget also that we need another right winger and probably another defender
100% agree. He’s a world class transition killer. But you minimize his efficiency at braking up transitions by playing him as an 8. He’s simply not creative enough to play as an 8 long term. Why pay over 100 million for the best #6 under the age of 25 in Europe just to play him as an #8? I don’t understand stuff like that 🤷♂️
We need a clinical striker. Dropped 10 points at home that cost us the PL - missed a shedful of chances in those games.

I would like to point out Kai's stats since playing up front. On paper he is a 100Mill striker. He also does so much work it is like having another midfielder.. It is so obvious that the most important player to develop is Havertz, his improvement in one season has been amazing.
Rice is a revelation as a left 8 and I would not change that.
To give these 3 a better depth of attack we need fast players wide. Martinelli is great, but sometimes wasteful with the ball, White is fast as f@@k and has burned his mark every week. Kiwior is fast enough and I wonder if he will not get over his bad day and kick on next season. If he does that.... Timber in the 6 position?
Add Saka to that lot and I am sure that we will be unplayable,
Need cover for Rice and Odegard since they are over utilized. Saka also need some breathing space during the peak.

Love Isak as a player but at the money that you'd need to put up to sign him you've got to look at his injury record and wonder if we'd basically just be swapping Jesus for a player equally prone to be in the treatment room and not on the pitch? With Kai clearly well suited to the 9 role in Arteta's system I think a 'project' player like Sesko might be the move and would free up budget for strengethening elsewhere
Yea I'll take sesko if we can keep the deal under 50m cos we need another DM cos can't trust Partey to stay fit. Just forget Isak Newcastle will only sell to balance the books so will demand at least 100m 🤦

I think Arteta should sign Zubimendi to free Rice in the 8 to add on the attack.another right footed defender to rotate with Saliba and a new winger like Xavi or Niko Williams. Then we should be able to compete both on domestic and Europe 😊😊.

I don't understand why people talk about goal difference when we all know that if City equals or betters Arsenal's goal difference it would mean it has won their game. Which would mean they would have won the league
Obviously, I'm staying optimistic about Sunday and I'm going to say here that I've been putting it all on Sunday and West Ham where we win the league. I've been saying this for at least a fortnight even though everyone thought it would be either Fulham or the shite down the road who would do us a favour.
It's not just me either, it's some of West Ham's players who have said that they'll do City...... including their striker Antonio.

Need a proven high profile players to go to the next step you can rack all the talent in the world but you need experienced world class players in the squad. We have seen how close arsen wenger got to the tittle on multiple occasions but just crumbled every time under pressure.
Priorities are center forward and midfield. Cover for saka is crucial next season the fact that he played while limbing for a couple of games is just criminal.
Eberechi Eze can be brought back to Arsenal.

If any club wants to compete with Monopoly City you need 2 world class strikers. City have Haaland & Alvarez. Arsenal have a makeshift striker in Havertz & Jesus who is not a 9.
Basically Arsenal do not have an out-and-out striker.
It's a miracle Arsenal are challenging the club with 115 FFP charges that has 2 world class players for every position. With the exception of injuries to Partey & Timber, Arsenal were relatively lucky this season with injuries. An injury to any key player leaves Arsenal's squad bare like what happened with Saliba. Holding was not a good back up for Saliba. Who else can play as a 9 if Havertz is injured?? We definitely need to sign a striker, LB + CM in the summer & another winger to cover for Saka & Martinelli.

Kai Havertz is the best false number 9 and Arsenal should prioritize to buy top midfielder young for long term as well who can play along side Rice because Partey is always injured and Jorginho is getting old.

No shame to losing to avliia twice. However, why don't we talk about the Chelsea Away (when everyone was beating them) and Spurs home games, which we drew. Those were down to stupid errors by players Arteta trusted.
Lucas Paqueta would be the best fit for left 8. Creative, silky, crafty, can score.
Hey Charles, what do you think about Arsenal keeping the forwards we have and bolstering the right wing to allow Saka to rest? Kai performs well upfront and Gabi as a number 2 to that position is strong. Martinelli and trossard are great on the left but Saka gets run into the ground the entire season. I think if we had support for him, I think it improves the team massively. Saka plays less but better when he does and Arsenal have another goal scorer added to a front line that already works well.

Not fully sure about sesko. He is good in box but don't know if his link up is good enough and whether he can hit the ground running immediately.
However as Charles said ..if Kai is the starting CF next season we can afford a younger st option off bench
interesting thought but do you think arsenal still scouting for younger players is a felfection of them being wary about the core of the team leaving one day? we have such a strong young core to our team (saliba, odegaard, saka, etc.), and if we don't win a trophy next season the reality of one of them leaving becomes a lot more likely. Winning isn't guaranteed, so could these younger project/prospect signings (with loads of clear talent) be our method of filling in those gaps if that dreaded day of one our starting 11 being poached away by one of the richer clubs does come?
Not to mention, if we do win a trophy and the younger players are on the bench still, their marketability only grows (profit in player sales).
Also what do we think of ollie watkins?
Isak would be so dangerous as a left wing, we could play a front three of Isak, Havertz and Saka - that's menacing for any team.
The defensive duty might be an issue for Isak but going forward coming from the left is terrifying, speed. Skill. Long quick feet and finishing technique is top notch

AFC needs to sign a forward. It’s no fault of Havertz but surely teams will figure out a way to neutralise him in the 9. Having a new forward gives opponents something different to think about. It also needs to be something that gives them a weapon against mid blocks

We need someone who can emulate Odergaard on the left hand side, I’m not confident that Rice will be useful against low blocks playing the 8 role.

We don’t need anymore project signings now it’s all about world class or top draw additions I.e Frenkie De Jong, Alphonso Davies, Mitoma or Leao that’s the level we must add.

Sell jesus and bring in Isaak who is a massive improvement on jesus, Newcastle could be open to a swap plus cash deal. Isaak can do all the things jesus does but can finish much better . We got havertz there as well and with Isaak being able to play off a striker/wing and can play as a ST it's a no brainer . And with the rest of the money we have we can go and get zubamendi/onana and a young centre back like Hato. I would rather go for Isaak then Bruno guimares as what we were missing this season was a clinical striker in some games not a midfielder .

Golden glove has always been meaningless, which is why it doesn't get any fanfare - defending is a team sport, as the saying goes. Raya has won the glove despite maybe not making a single top class save all season(?) or directly winning any points with his keeping - he has won it because of the defence in front of him and the way the whole team defends.

I think you should always look to better yourself in Football and life and not use your energy watching the guy across the road or whatever another person is doing. Better yourself and focus and not look for excuses or speak on things you know nothing about.
