Mitch and Alex’s uncle-niece bond/relationship was so underrated and deserved more screen time and episodes of them together. They had the same idea of what Christmas tree they wanted and the same view on symmetry and hearing them sing, plus how Alex stood up for him.
Mitch and Alex were among the smartest and most successful with their work through their dedication and intellects.
Imagine all the storylines the writers could have explored with them.
One in particular I would have liked is although science was Alex’s passion, had she decided to look at or pursue law and becoming a lawyer, Mitchell would have been happy to teach and give her all the advice and knowledge she would have needed.

Prejudice exists but we love that this show addressed- in a funny way- that people can be overly sensitive, looking for prejudice that isn't there.

They really do. The two of them were among the smartest out of everyone else in the family, and I feel that their uncle-niece relationship was severely underrated and deserved more moments and storylines exploring their dynamic.
For one thing, Alex I think would have been a great lawyer - if science wasn’t her passion - and Mitch would have been happy to give her as much support and knowledge to pursue it.
