Ibn Kathir(may Allah have mercy on him) stated:
"Allah criticizes those who ignore Allah's commandments, which include every type of righteous good thing and prohibit every type of evil, but they refer instead to opinions, desires and customs that people themselves invented, all of which have no basis in Allah's religion. During the time of Jahiliyyah, the people used to abide by the misguidance and ignorance that they invented by sheer opinion and lusts. The Tatar (Mongols) abided by the law that they inherited from their king Genghis Khan who wrote Al-Yasiq, for them. This book contains some rulings that were derived from various religions, such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Many of these rulings were derived from his own opinion and desires. Later on, these rulings became the followed law among his children, preferring them to the Law of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger . Therefore, whoever does this, he is a KAFIR who deserves to be fought against, until he reverts to Allah's and His Messenger's decisions, so that no law, minor or major, is referred to except by His Law."

That INCLUDES those who promulgate laws for people that are contrary to Islamic laws, to be a system that the people follow. They only promulgate those laws that are contrary to Islamic laws because they believe that they are better and more beneficial for people, because it is known on the basis of reason and sound human nature that no one turns away from one path to a different path unless he believes that what he has turned to is better and what he has turned away from is lacking. People need to learn their religion. As a Jaahil myself, I took this initiative and started learning. May Allah guide me as well as people like me. Ameen. I literally had no idea about these Ahadeeth or these rulings. I didn't even know what Khawarij means. I didn't know anything. I am still learning and just started. I have wasted 40 years of my life. I don't want to die as an ignorant. May Allah accept my efforts. Ameen.
A humble request to all the people as well, learn your religion in depth. Not to refute or to boast but to understand. We will be standing in front of Allah at the day of judgement. There will be no way back or any way to correct any mistakes. With every breath Allah is giving us time. Please utilize it wisely. Learn knowledge with intention of getting yourself out of ignorance and others around you as well.

Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "Hence the saved group is described as Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah, and they are the greater majority and the vast multitude. As for the other groups, they are followers of weird ideas, division, innovation and whims and desires, and none of these groups reached anywhere close to the size of the saved group, let alone being equal to them, rather some of these groups are very small in number. The sign of these groups is that they go against the Quran, Sunnah and scholarly consensus. The one who follows the Quran, Sunnah and scholarly consensus is one of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah."

Obedience is to the ruler who have sharia in place. Secondly there is no bayāh since there is no khilafa. That is according to the statement of muhaddith imam albani. Thirdly democracy is a kufri way of life ( kufr al akbar in of itself) so the leaders who implements this cannot be called muslims because they have taken democracy as their deen similarly if monarchs places their dictations and whims as a way of life to govern people with then also they fit the category. Rulers are not above the sharia(don't bring the example of parents in a case for rulers because Allah in the qur'an commands us to be dutiful to parents Even if are not muslims aslong they don't command shirk, sins etc...)
As for muslim rulers (almost none remains EXCEPT SAUDI ARABIA or controversially Afghan Rulers Taliban ) obedience is given by those who are the subjects of these region.

Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf was a tyrant ruler and he was way worse. A well-known Tabi’i like Al-Hasan Al-Basri R.A is a perfect example on *how muslims today should react towards oppressive or neglectful rulers* .

    • @ossamabinabdallah

Did you as a Muslim just say "why do you have to look for justification from the Qur'aan and Hadith? That is literally a fundamental method that a Muslim should abide be in all aspects of his/her life. You need justification from the Qur'aan and Sunnah whenever you embark on any given situation, that's kinda the whole point!
Secondly, this has nothing to do with Palestine. These Ahaadeeth are in relation to obeying the Muslim ruler. There's no mention of war or Jihaad anywhere, so I'm not sure how you processed it that way.
As far as support, the UAE and other GCC countries have done what they can in terms of political, and humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
If by support you mean arming Hamas; a Muslim Brotherhood, anti-Salafi, anti-Saudi, anti-UAE entity, propagated by the Iranian Raafidhi regime, then respectfully, you're out of your mind, or you're just unfamiliar with geopolitics.
Or if you mean intervening to combat the zionists in general, that is not only unrealistic, but a losing gamble, because this zionist state is like the Salaah-u-deen of the Judeo-Christian world, and fighting it means you fight all the Western world and their gargantuan war machines. They're not just going to idle by as you plummet Tel Aviv, that's not how it works. I'm Saudi, and I'm old enough to remember what the West did in their conniving ways through sanctions over Khashoggi, who's literally a traitor of Turkish origins, a mouthpiece for the West against his adoptive country. These people have an agenda against the Muslims, and guess who's helping them with their rhetoric...the Khaarijis!
I think many Muslims need a thorough course on politics and geopolitics, most specifically, so that we can analyse things more maturely and implement a more realistic and strategic objective. None of this can happen without firstly adhering to the Qur'aan and Sunnah and the way of the Righteous Predecessors.
Some things are easier said than done. It's an extremely sad situation because the innocent Palestinians have been dragged into this turmoil endlessly, and Muslims are pointing their fingers at the wrong people. You should ask yourself who stimulated this specific barrage, and who stands to gain from it? The zionists kill more Palestinians, they take over the land, that's literally whay they want, a warring Palestinian, to give them more justification to move in on more land, how do you think they amassed all this land since 1948...through war! They hate diplomacy because it's a soft power that works and is binding, and is usually their most fierce opponent all the time. Furthermore, Iran wags its' finger and moves its' militants (yes, Hamas is one of them) in its' favor. But, nooo, it's these GCC leaders, they've been at it all along 🙄
