i've been waiting for this FOREVER and this looks like a big step in the right direction.
One of the absolute best channels on youtube when it comes to music production! Phenomenal!
Nice breakdown of this early beta for themes. Now that IL have confirmed they will expandi themes to allow the 'meter/waveform' elements to also be recoloured in the next update. I hope they'll also consider including options to change the 'grid colour' settings and include them as part of the theme preset. Oh! And it was cool to see a bunch of my own early theme attempts in your video @ 1:45 😉
The grid color option will be really important to me, as i want to make the playlist background pitch black which would make it the same exact color as the grid -> it would have zero contrast 😵💫
Reaaaaly looking forward to a nice dark theme! Hope similar things to older fl studio skins are possible with this too.
Right off the bat people will want to automate the hue.

FL Studio has since V12 a vectorized GUI which means it´s programmed, calculated by the CPU and doesn´t use any bitmaps anymore...
User Skinning is absolutely impossible... you would have to change the whole code... this will never happen!

I hope they won't. All this time spent doesn't make music production any faster, easier or more fun. I got one thing out of it, the step sequencer in now easier to read. That's it.

What problem do you have with large audio files??
Use "Keep On Disk" for large audio files.
Not really what I need but it's ok.

change the color ok, but what some people are waiting for real advances since lot of years, such as recording midi notes while the performance mode plays and records at the same time.
thanks to this, we would can record patterns of different sizes in same time 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 - 64 (real time live looping)
And they still never made it free… Give us our ability to open saved projects already image line!
Tbh It doesn't look that good 😢 Hopefully they will improve and actually make it good.. I want to change the color of the whole daw!
You can do that already...nearly... you should have a look into that forum thread I showed... there are some nice presets shared from other users with complete different colors for the whole programm!
Nonetheless this is the first incarnation... so chances are high that it will still change a lot!

It's not theirs, it's zgameeditor and it's a free software not developed by them
Hi.Thanks to you I have almost purchased FL 20 ( still sitting in basket ) but I have problem with output movement.Just can't open the plugin .I have small window, empty and after 1min FL crashed.I have trial version, the latest software.Movement is legit, purchased directly from output.I have tried AU, VST AND VST3, no joy.Please advise
i think minimal theming is a good way to go
but this theme issue is an over kill, Ableton has two major theme that are recurring all the time and i think that is better.
Let´s wait what they come up with...
This was just the first version and they will improve on this topic still vastly...

passt zwar nicht wirklich hierher, aber ich habe eine frage. ich möchte einen mono bus in fl studio erstellen. momentan habe ich auf jedem kanal das a1stereocontrol plugin womit ich die einzelnen kanäle oder instrumente panne. mal ganz nach außen mal fast gänzlich in mono usw. ich weiß zwar dass es einen monoregler für jeden kanal gibt, aber leider nicht im minimierten zustand, so wie ich den mixer benutze. die regler werden ausgeblendet. ist es möglich per send channel stereo in mono zu verwandeln? z.B. umso mehr ich den regler nach rechts drehe, desto mehr mono es wird? ich habe versucht einen mono bus channel zu erstellen mit dem a1stereocontrol den ich auf mono eingestellt habe, aber leider überlappen die beiden kanäle. es wird nicht wirklich mono, weil der kanal den ich zum mono bus schicke weiterspielt in stereo. wenn du eine lösung haben solltest, so wäre ich dankbar darüber.
Die einzige Idee wäre über ein kompliziertes Patcher setup auf dem "Mono Bus", bei dem du die Kanäle zu dem Bus nur "sidechainst" aber nicht "sendest" (also sends aber mit zero volume)...
In Patcher sind dann die einzelenen gesendeten Kanäle micht rechtsclick auf "From FL Studio" auswählbar und können seperat bearbeitet ..."monisiert" ... und gepannt werden...
Aber vorsicht: Nachdem bearbeiten in Patcher dürfen die Kanäle nicht mehr in ihrer Reihenfolge verändert werden, da das das ganze routing system in Patcher leider durcheinander bringt!

What is MPE support? Is it not possible to get MPE support in FL studio?? If the MPE support is not available, then how to achieve it?
MPE is the abreviation for: MIDI Polyphonic Expression and is an extension to the current midi protocol...
With this extension it is possible to use a variation of modulations to every single note you play like FLS is capable in the Piano roll for it´s native generators like pitch slides, panning etc...
At the moment MPE isn´t possible in FLS but it was confirmed that it will be added to probably a V21.xx update

What an awful way to do themes. Hopefully we can recolor each individual element, as this is currently the equivalent of putting a color correction filter on.
From what I´ve seen this is coming step by step with more control over the colors too...
Just wait a bit as I said this was the very first implementation and far from being complete...

Das ist ganz einfach... geh einfach in das Playlist Menü zu dem Untermenü "Picker Panel"... hier aktivierst du einfach "Show empty Patterns"!

I think it's just a waste of time. If there is anything I would like to change is to create more bright colours. More you add in FL the DAW getting heavier. FL studio should work more on new tool's if there is anything they want to do. So far FL studio as it stands it's perfect!
But it was requested like crazy... 🙂
@@flstudiotricks6903 I can emagine! At the end of the day...it's really good as it is. I started with very first fl studio. Than I moved to Reason 3-5 and come back to FL and stay by today.
I hope fl created vocal align or sound align

I really don't know, why Themes take a much bigger part in the development than Project Organization with folders (which we are waiting for much longer than theming btw). I also believe that this option could damage FL Studio's reputation as a "kids DAW" even more, depending on how many "bad" designs are then seen on the internet soon. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a hater, i just think it is a step in the wrong direction.
It seems like you're insecure about using FL. I wouldn't worry about as shit changes. They said Pro Tools is industry standard, but everyone I know and watch doesn't mess with it. It's usually FL, Ableton, Logic, Reaper, Maschine, or Dawless off the top of my head. And with the subscription-based model they came out with, people are leaving. I think its nice to have some personalization. Its sucks it won't like the old FL days, but whatever.
@@NotFound-dz9dl im working since fruity loops v2 back in the days and i certainly won't change until i pass away, because of lifetime free updates. but honestly? none of these "long awaited" features like theming the GUI bring anybodys music to the next level, and they don't improve your workflow, and they don't make things easier. They just don't do anything at all for a musician, and instead of implementing features that would really help, they "waste" time for things like "theming". Of course this is just my personal point of view, nobody has to agree with that. 🙃

@@ieatthighs You can't change the SKIN of FL studio though.. This feature you could already do, Minus the screen tint which achieves nothing and looks horrendous.
Even then you can already do a screen tint, And colour filters just off your PC and it doesn't work people have tried in the past...
So to me this feature will probably allow you to colour multiple things within FL studios at once..
When you create a coloured Theme instead of doing it on each parameter.
If you look on the video of the Theme examples. You'll see what I mean, Mixer tracks, Grid, Grid tracks, Piano Roll Grid, You can already colour those in..
This doesn't remove all the Grey boarders as you'll see in the Themes, Because that's scripted into the program.
How to import the themes downloaded from image line forum?
Just put them into the corresponding folder in your user library ("Themes"...create the folder if it doesn´t exist)
The path is: FL Studio\Settings\Themes
This is not new . FL studio have just made it idiot proof. I used to make themes years ago for FL studio but they made it that you could not do it with FL studio 20
