The cost of living is high considering how much people make there. these are all gringo prices which are ridiculous. I would rather go to Miami or Vegas
Nice haircut dude 👍....and man 🤣😂🤣 that burger 🍔 the ridiculous one ....😂🤣 I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the plate looking like big garden salad 😂😂🤣...😂🤣. 🤣
Jaco and Costa Rica in general ain`t cheap but if you consider how beautiful CR is and all the abundant nature and how safe it is and how friendly all the natives are and many of them speak English for me it`s worth it.
That’s great! I’m very happy that I left when I did. I’m really in a good place right now. I look forward to visiting the Philippines again in the future.
Compared to Thailand and Malaysia, I was very surprised that Costa Rica is expensive. I'm back in San Jose March 26 and then it's off to Jaco for the first time ever for a few nights. Thanks for giving me a preview of the town and prices.
Expense is all relative, if you live in an established stable democratic government run country, like Canada or USA I think you will find the price considerably cheaper. The rub is tourist zone as Jaco will cost more because us gringos can afford it and they know it..as well the Real Estate there is obviously targeting the expats not tourists, keep in mind they are not advertising the cheaper property, there are plenty.
I`ve eaten at the Ridiculous Burger too their burgers are not cheap but you get what you pay for their delicious. BTW Did you see the picture of the mile high burger they sell for a crazy high price I think it was over 50 dollars but the catch is if you can eat the entire thing in 30 minutes it`s free. I doubt very many could eat that big a burger in 30 minutes. It had about 12 patties of meat pilled up .
My friends and I are planning a trip to Jaco for next year (hopefully if the pandemic doesn't cause problems). Your content was very informative. So, thank you for taking the time out to give such an in-depth rundown of the costs.
Cost is all relative, you have to compare to your own living standards and other locales. Very insightful video, thanks Pat! Your burger reminds me of the time I was in Zurich, Switzerland (which to me, is a very expensive city), when I ordered a burger (half the size of yours) that cost me about $20! Yikes.
Coming from the UK, I think prices are reasonable, being a touristy area you expect to pay a tad more. Be careful while walking in the shrubs, watch for those crocs, I think I worry too much, lol...🙂
Great video! As far as the prices, they are pretty similar to what I'm paying already here in the States. I definitely wouldn't go there to save money or retire.
Costa Rica is more expensive than the Phils. But surprisingly, the veg. And others sold in the supermarket is less expensive. Thank you for that info about prices in Costa Rica.
Hi Pat I love this Jaco video . BTW the super markey Mas X Menos is privately owned . All the Maxi Pali that you see in Jaco and all over Costa Rica are owned by Walmart. I prefer the Mas X Menaosone in Jaco . Do you know what Mas X Menos translates to in English ? It means More for Less. Cheers 🥂 , Pat , Lindsay
Thank you for the comment, yes I knew the meaning haha. I also went to the farmers market, but didn’t film it. What’s your favorite area to shop at in Costa Rica?
Your vlogs super. We got to know how expensive the spa there compared to my country Philippines, however restaurant food is reasonable, but onion is $4.40 per kg thats almost three times costlier in India. It's 1.50 usd here in Bangalore, India and internet here is unlimited for a month with tv channels cost you around $14 dollars a month. Visit here Patmax in future. Filipina here from India. I hope you will always do vlog about prices also apart from travel. How about the gym there?
Looks like you are able to breathe free there. The police would have never said a word to you in Manila BTW for breathing freely, I know because they never have to me. Happy travels from the PI 💞
For sure more expensive then a lot of other spots around the world. Do you think it is worth it? Or are there other counties in this part of the world where you clearly get more bang for your buck?

just booked my flight to CR next month
Yay! Have a great trip!
Thanks for budget information. It’s good to know how to budget plan for a Central American trip!!!
You’re welcome! I thought this could be helpful to a lot of people.

I totally agree with you!. It’s definitely worth it!
Loved the video. Very informative. I arrive Jaco April 15th staying 9 nights
Thank you! I hope you enjoy your trip there!
A week after you left, boracay, palawan baguio were open.
That’s great! I’m very happy that I left when I did. I’m really in a good place right now. I look forward to visiting the Philippines again in the future.
Very expensive. We just came back there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but too expensive for our taste.
Sounds reasonable to me

Enjoy your time in Jaco and the rest of Costa Rica!

are most things negotiable?

You’re right. It’s all about your own living standards. Switzerland looks so beautiful, but very expensive too. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you!
You should have mentioned internal flights within the country. They seem pricey. In addition, they charge foreignors more which is disgraceful

Hi Pat...glad to see you’re enjoying CR! Yup it’s crazy expensive there. 😜 It’s like you’re in US.
Yes, it is!
One thing I do worry about is the crocs. I’ve seen RUclips videos of one coming out of ocean in Jaco beach ? Scares me about getting in the water .
Me too! Unfortunately they do pop up in different places too.
Enjoy your vacation in Costa Rica Pat.. from your fan in PH
Thank you so much!

I know it’s pretty expensive here! I hope to visit India some day and go back to the Philippines too
Compare to their PPP, the cost of living is too high for the local.
I can definitely see your point.

Thank you so much!
I think for all foreign for vaction is philippines is for best for them becoz its so much affordable for them. Im proud From philippines here.
You keep saying “ dollars”.. are you referring to US dollars..??
ah and what is the tipping culture like?
For sure more expensive then a lot of other spots around the world. Do you think it is worth it? Or are there other counties in this part of the world where you clearly get more bang for your buck?
