    Great information! Costa Rica is one of the countries I want to go this coming May since I heard that its security/safety is relatively good in central/south America. (is that true?) I've never been to Central/South American but I've been to South Africa and it was not comfortable to always care about your belonging and such. Only downside might also be the wet weather during their summer- (how long do you plan to stay there?). Anyways- thank you for the insight!

    I was also living in the Philippines for 4 months and had to leave too because it got so strict to the point that it made it too difficult to live. Now I'm going to Costa Rica in 3 weeks too. I'll be around Guanacaste but will have a car to tour around the country.

    Thanks for the video Pat! You have yourself a new subscriber! What's funny is you were just in the Philippines for a year and I want to go there but I can't yet because of the pandemic. While I wait for the Philippines to open up again, I've been debating on somewhere else to go and I'm heavily considering Costa Rica. I would like to travel to Costa Rica for 90 days, find a rental property on the cheaper side that would come with good internet for working online and be in a safe area with a hospital nearby if something were to happen to me. If you have any advice or recommendations for me based off of what I'm looking for, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I look forward to following your journey!

      Thank you for the comment and welcome to the channel! I work online too and my experience with the internet here so far has been great! There are a lot of cheaper and affordable rentals around Costa Rica. I think it depends on what kind of area you would like to be in. Near the beach or mountains, more people or less people.

    • @DJ33970
      @DJ33970 3 года назад

      @@PatMaxAdventures I would say I want to be away from the beaches, less people, be in higher elevation with good air quality. Do you know if it's better to search for rentals in person in Costa Rica or online? If online, which sites would you say are the best to use? Thanks buddy

    CR is much more relaxed and the cases are low. All that outdoor living and Ticos are very civic-minded and respectful of what's needed to keep the country open. A truly great place. Be sure and head to the Nicoya peninsula (either Montezuma od Santa Teresa).

    Already many countries are requiring tourists to have been vaccinated in order to visit. I believe going forward this will be the future of international travel to some countries; i.e. a vaccine passport. I told my wife, we should get vaccinated not because of COVID but more because we intend on traveling internationally this year.

When are you going to Panama and have heard Leon and Granada in Nicaragua are fantastic. Are the locals as friendly as in the Philippines? Stay well Patrick lots of love to you and all from an Irishman, Gerry

    The problem is a widespread proliferation of misinformation and contradictory news. Just the other day, there was a story that Wales had no plan to open up until 2022 and then yesterday the chief minister announced easing of rule from today. It is very curious that countries like Costa Rica, Cuba, Belarus, Ukraine, and much of Africa have virtually reverted to pre-Covid positions without rampant spikes when countries in North America and Europe had rampant spikes despite lockdown measures.
