I use the flagship S23 and definitely think it's just better. Battery has been solid, cameras are better than I expected, and software support will definitely be a no issue with the S23. The SD 8 Gen 2 and UFS 4.0 don't at all disappoint on my version. I recommend this device to anyone who wants a small compact phone that offers it all.

I recently got the S23 mainly for 3 things; camera, size and processor, I edit a lot of videos in my phone and the import and rendering time is incredibly fast (I use filmora go), and the process of editing is super smooth. The video is beautiful, the pictures in pro mode are great (hate the optimization in the normal mode, too saturated and blurry, I wish I could remove that ) and the size is perfect, I have small hands and my previous phone the A71 was too big.

If you did not know this already (sorry if you did!), you can select 'Settings to Keep' in camera settings and just use Pro Mode as the default mode with all the settings you want. It will by default open the camera app on the Pro Mode. I use this on my S20 FE and it feels very nice lol, don't have to go and select the Pro Mode all the time.

Any 4K recording basically adds blur and makes the image not really clean. If you check 8K recording then you see how sharp everything is and its not because of resolution but because of lack of processing. Usually when you record on your phone it looks fine as long you don't zoom in. If you zoom in you see the problems.@@CevherNeDer

Actually, I would have been satisfied with the A54, and happy with the S3 FE, however with trade in (S21) through my carrier, I didn't pay any more for the base S23, which my main point of preference is the size, I prefer smaller phones. My wife on the other hand traded her A52 for the S23 FE (She prefers the larger phones). Comparing my S23 with her S23 FE, the plus & minus between the two seems pretty insignificant. The FE unsurprisingly does get better battery life, but not by a lot. As casual point & click camera users we are happy with both. We do NOT like the FE's shiny back, but since we cased 'em up anyway, no biggie there. Display/smooth operation etc. is pretty similar. Neither of us could care less about bezel thickness unless it was a good bit more than the FE has.

It's GPU was always throttling down to like 30% of its use for no reason, all the time. I hated the thing. I was determined to trade it in and never get another Samsung phone. Shockingly, All of that was fixed with updates in time. I think that's why I kept the damn thing so long. After all the updates, the phone actually became really good. Just got the S23 FE 6 weeks ago. So far what ive discovered, as a fairly average user is....battery life sux but it charges very quickly in my experience. The screen protector that my carrier provided along with the Otterbox is too slippery and delicate as well. I already have a nice ding and crease after a relatively minor drop. Im not sure of the brand.
Back to the phone... i dont much care about whether or not it looks or feels "premium" as compared to another model or brand.
Theyre all made as if theyre intended to be used as a suppository imo. I cant even hold the darn things before i acqure a good case with some grip.
IMO the S23 FE looks pretty good, feels pretty good. I like the look of the 3 round protruding cameras. Kinda a retro look imo.
As far as performance goes, the cameras are good. Im no expert or camera snob but they seem better than my old iPhone XR and my previous Galaxy A20 and another more premium galaxy that i dont recall the model of, so no complaints. Although i swear i think my LG.....whatever, from 2013 or so tops them all for extreme closeups atleast.
The speakers sound pretty good and have decent volume.
Im not a techy kinda guy. I ride motorcycles, shoot guns and live my life outdoors as much as possible so i dont know the proper terminology let alone understand the actual operating system or the differences between them.
I just need a phone that stores 900 contacts, handles my emails and text messaging, handles my banking needs, gives me a useable notebook, lets me surf the net, takes good pics and stores about 8,000 of them at any one time and plays music or lets me RUclips when i want to.
All i can say is so far this phone does what i require of it and aside from the battery life i cant fault it.
    So far im digging it.

@@techwithbenefits Indeed... But I find that weird... I don't think a micro SD card facility can be considered as "bells and whistles" as most Android phones used a micro SD card in the beginning. It appears that Samsung's relationship with Microsoft is the reason for the removal of expandable storage in favour of One Drive - as well as following Apple.
As a Samsung Fan, I would want to restore the micro SD card capability, add some more 'pro' features to the camera system such as recording RAW video Log, a larger 7.5" screen, a couple of USB C ports for external drives, and faster charging... I guy can dream. 😅

The S's and T's on the S@23 are MUCH sharper than on the FE which is critical for those who don't hear higher tones. In short, the FE recording sounds like it's slurring it's words.

The price difference between these 2 phones are rather minimal in Canada. We just picked up an S23 and it was like only $50- bucks more that the FE, but it is one sweet handset and it's lightning fast and also efficient. Even tho you may get a larger battery in the FE, the SD8 Gen-1 is a one power hungry SOC, just like the SD-888 which was in the S1-FE, we still have (for sale) lol. While the FE is somewhat larger, it's thick bezzels reduce the actual display size to almost the same as the S23 has, which is a perfect one handed phone.

Comparing an $800 S23 to a $400 S23 FE seems odd. I think the better comparison would have been FE to the $325 A54. The S23 is a flagship but it’s also priced like a flagship at twice the price. The FE Snapdragon chipset was the same one as in last year’s S22 Ultra and performs great. I’ve noticed no overheating or throttling whatsoever and the battery life is fine too. Samsung has obviously worked out the kinks on the Gen 1 processor. For $400 the S23 FE is a great phone and I don’t think the S23 is worth twice the price.

i`m in love with the fe. especialy the mint color wich is nearly on part with the one from my a52s wich is getting its last os update this mounth so i`m gonna need to change it preety soon and i can`t not egnolage how the 23fe is gonna be what the a52s was when it launched: verry capable, nice looking and feeling phone with a great display for a rly good pryce and this makes the s23fe my best option(especialy bc i don`t want to spend that much on phones even tho i`m a phone entuzyast.
ik the s23 beats it in every category but i like bigger phones so i`l have to compaire the fe with the plus and the pryce gap just isn`t worth it. tbh,the pryce gap betwen the 23 base and the fe is a bit of a strech. u get 99% of the s exclussive software, getat performance(stop shitting on the exinos,is not that bad, especilay for this pryce range) great screen, build, etc. main point, the s23 fe is amazing for its pryce and i can` seress that enough. also, based on the a54`s pryce evolution(and ofc, other phones but this is the most recent data) i`m gonna make an educated guess and i think the phone will verry soon get to around 500 $(add or take some) and for this pryce,is a no brainer for the midrange market. don`t compaire it with a true s bc is not. is a mash up between the s23 ad the a54 and i`m all for it. if anything, this phone should be compaired to the s22 from last year and even this is a bit more expensive and its exinos is worse. i can go back and forth with this but main thing is:if u`re looking for a midranger that`s 99%of an s23,wait 3 mounths and get it at ~500$
btw,the complains about the fingerprint are just stupid anoying. u need to press longer bc is a light based fingerprint, not a sound one like the one from the s23 and,i think is actualy better bc u can use any screen protector and not interfear with the sensor. with sound u can ony get silicon or glass with a cutout for the fingerprint. with a light based one,the light goes trough both so it isn`t that big of a deal

I got the FE for $120 CAD with $200 worth of merch and so far so good. I thought it was a brand new phone until I heard the S24 is coming out in a couple of months lol.

Just upgraded to S23 FE few days ago from Samsung A70. It's been superb! Not much of a camera gal. Battery life could be better though. It's just funny, A70 has much thinner bezels than S23 FE lol (except for A70's chin which is barely noticeable)

Hi! How long can battery last with moderate usage through the day?
      And does it overheat?
I have a70 also :D its overheating while gaming, but the battery is pretty solid.
