Some ppl in chat were all-out on calling anything left-leaning cringe as is typical among gamers, but there's also some who were recommending that he watch some stuff by slavoj zizek when he was talking about the personal as political, so yea it's an odd experience. In my head with this game I can see it from multiple angles at once, like there's part of my brain that's perfectly able to engage with the story on its own terms because I can see what it's trying to do, but also at the same time I can definitely see the ways the story kinda sucks ass, lmao. But is it fair to say that it would be easier to engage with it in good faith if it was just "better"? Die hard conservatives would cope endlessly about how the game isn't political at all, and lefties would form a fever dream fandom like Disco Elysium. True colour is a lot of things sure, and it's lacking in some areas. But my god its so much better than this long, meandering, BORING game. Not to mention that the performances in True Colours are easily the best in the series. Alex is the only protagonist in the series who even vaguely resembles a human in terms of character.
