I agree and I loathe the racistcolonialethno state project more than I could have ever imagined possible. I email the White House and call during their hours (Tu-Th 11-3) every day and vent my rage and opposition to the barbarism of their policies. On the other hand every Palestinian, ever since I began my deep dive into the issue, has impressed me with their great souls. Free Palestine!
So hard to imagine the devastating daily impact of brutal control of one country over a huge population that they keep in an open air jail, I am ashamed that we Israeli I knew nothing of it, as though we live somewhere in the Midwest of the US, and not in the Middle East.
I think elevating the work of Palestinian writers is key in this moment, as Ahmed himself says, especially vibrant and intelligent works of fiction and theater as he has provided through the years, exactly to counter that process of dehumanization of Palestinians that has set in and that hinders any prospect of peace. I am the Italian translator of Ahmed's 2 novels "Vanished" and "Come What May" as well as his play "The Shroud Maker", and I think those of us who have actively engaged with his work internationally need to redouble our efforts to find ways of disseminating it.

I was really struck by the fact that the few Gazans who did manage to get as far as Egypt have not been granted asylum in any other country. How are they living? Are their movements restricted in Egypt? @OwenJonesTalks please follow up with their stories and let us know if there are ways we can exert pressure to get these people resettled.
