Thanks for the in-depth walkthrough as always Wade! You're the man! Love seeing you tear down the current in the UltraLite and had a great day on the water with you!
CK1 is my go too fishing /rec boat I had one of these UL and sold it this day it was just a demo I was letting another guy paddle my CK1 I wasn't doing reviews when I had one of these and figured I do a quick review
Hey Wade, I'd be interested to see a short video about the clothing that you are wearing for sport/rec kayaking. You look like you wear long sleeves, hat, ect. (sun protection). Possibly layers. Thanks
Not much to do a video on that one I usually just shorts and astral shoes with Some sort of dry fit under shirt with a tee shirt and a hat with a neck gator on for sun
First ....😎👍 For fishing Im using an Ocean Kayak, Frenzy...also good for a little White Water ....but want to buy a bigger Sit on Top, nice informative video...
I got a Ultralite last year. Fished it a good bit. Lot of small streams and a couple New River trips. Handling is amazing. Its as fast or faster than my Tarpon 120 and paddles upstream as well also. Just need to not get broadside in rough water while weighted down. This yak handles different when loaded. Especially if the weight is high on the deck. Its best to keep the load close to the deck. I wouldn't get it anywhere near its stated weight limit. Also...secure the seat. If the seat tips on ya your getting wet! I dumped 3 times last year. more than i have ever in my tarpon. I was trying to do things in and load out like my 12' tarpon though. Once i realized this boats use case and limits i was fine. The hull shape can cause some weird moments due to its design. Sliding up on bank or on a rock you need to hit em more perpendicular or things get hairy. I am worried that if i catch a boulder in fast water it could get sideways and roll. A normal hull would ping off where the ultralites keel could lead to some unintended consequences. Especially if your loaded out for a day fishing. Luckily the ultralite can pick and chose its line (more so than other yaks) in rapids. A small tackle bag max 3 rods and this yak dominates small streams. I felt at home on larger rivers too! just can't bring as much with me. Even with its cons i love this yak. I car top. I can toss this boat right up on the roof. Dragging it up steep banks is a breeze. Paddles up runs, fast and with less effort than a lot of even larger yaks. Catches less wind than my Tarpon. I can hold and maintain in runs much easier. I was able to break down wide New River runs. I love the open deck. Perfect throw and go Kayak really. Just know its limits.
Nice feedback buddy yeah I agree with everything you said also you have a good point about the design of the hull when launching in and out of stuff it’s rocks side to side so easy and I noted that in the video be careful getting that boat sideways on any moving currents it will catch and flip on anything very fast
I’m a novice. I can’t stay in the dang thing! I have a tarpon 105 and it’s great for me. I want the crescent to work for me but I’m not putting my fishing stuff in it. I’m female 5’2” and on the heavy side. I’m naturally coordinated so I’ve been in shock every time I tump out. I love the layout of the lite tackle 2. I just don’t want to get it if it’s not more stable than the ultra lite.

Yeah good getting out with you guys again
Lightweight and easy to paddle, tracks fantastic for a 10 foot kayak…way better than most people might think.
My favorite color combo too!!
So true I used it all weekend I do love my CK1 though
@@WadeHarrison the CK1 Venture is my favorite on most water too!!!!
Great review. Love Crescent kayaks, especially my CK1.

@@MsKindaSorta you might want to look at the new Crescent Primo!
How would this boat do in the ocean surf?
Not really a surf boat but will work on the inlets and flats
LOL, I am yelling surf it!
hahaha yeah it will surf some, but I had gear with me and didn't want to get to cocky
Easily handles a 250 lb paddler!
Yes
