    Great video Eric! Ten generations! That's a lot of experience in becoming an expert at the things you do. A lot of experience with your local companies and knowing the reputable ones that will stand behind their advice and work. Lots of experience with longstanding companies that know the weather conditions and workloads of the projects they complete. Looks like you've got a great contractor for this build. So only compliments from here on all the decisions you've made, the work you've put into the job, the workers you've hired, and the quality of the job.

    • @puirYorick
      @puirYorick 2 года назад +5

      He could have at least ordered the poly-fiber stuff mixed into the concrete for convenience. Skipping mesh/rebar completely seems like a sketchy decision. Concrete WILL crack so you need to control how and when as best you can.

    • @jdjd7127
      @jdjd7127 2 года назад +1

      Cattle on the concrete as well as heavy machinery I believe it needs rebar along with getting frost in PA I hope it doesn't crack this winter...

    • @puirYorick
      @puirYorick 2 года назад +1

      @@jdjd7127 For sure that concrete won't last as long without some kind of mesh. I heard good things about the fiberglass mixture but not all places supply it.

    • @jdjd7127
      @jdjd7127 2 года назад +1

      It seemed to get super thin towards the bunker I couldn't really tell in the video I'd say maybe 2 inches... what are your thoughts... I kinda cringed thinking it will all just crumble and break right apart... especially with the equipment coming in and out if that area...I don't work concrete but I've been around a little

    • @puirYorick
      @puirYorick 2 года назад +1

      @@jdjd7127 Even *with* reinforcements and perfect setting/curing all concrete will crack. It just happens worse and sooner when shortcuts are taken. The only thing worse than relying on advice from strangers on he internet may be NOT relying on it sometimes. However, trusting the random trades you hired is a gamble too if their word has no professional association backing like with a professional engineer for instance. Once the stuff fails, the guys' words aren't worth much in court. That only counts if the guy is a certified professional with papers. Best of luck to them.

Looks like you have been really busy with the addition and getting ready and chopping silage. Did you meet your 100 loads for the bunker and did you meet your expectations of the corn crop "silage " this year ? I always love your drone footage and the segments of the chopper and catch wagons as they look flawless. Everything you do,for your operation is like 1 more
