I must have watched this at least 50 times and only JUST realized that the background color of Emmet at the end there is the same as the beginning, so it could mean that the start of this is Emmet on the hunt for Ingo in Hisui after putting the paper away and the darker background parts were just backstory. I know this doesn't matter much but it makes me happy because in a way I can tell myself he's getting closer to a reunion!!
Also this animation is utterly fantastic and I hope in my next 50 times of watching it I'll catch something new again!
