I just don't understand why people can't just put LED bulbs in the older exit signs instead of replacing the whole thing. Besides the modern LED exit signs are not even replaceable when the LED's go out. They stay out forever. So you might as will keep the incandescent exit signs and just put LED bulbs in them.
In order to put LED bulbs into an Exit Sign that was designed for Incandescent or Fluorescent light, you would need to add a LED Retrofit kit. These Retrofit Kits are usually a similar price of a new standard LED Exit Sign, so many people tend to just updated older looking Exit Signs. i totally agree with you plus i don't think they last that long as stated in the video when it comes to full brightness of the LED ones. they may "last longer" but the brightness SLOWLY dims overtime so it's not as worth it in that respect either in my mind.
@@tanyasobsessions2131 don't forget that exit signs today are garbage with crappy plastic and generic exit signs that fail. Ever since the 2000s exit signs and emergency lights have gone to crap. (Except duel lite and select lithonia products and some hidden gems) there made out of cheap plastic. They don't perform as well as older signs. the design of newer I really HATE. The new exit signs scream unoriginal. I Would hate the newer exit signs becuse of its design. It always this stupid rectangle on every sign I find(except from some like the duel lite light forms series) I would be fine with LED if it wasn't so cheap. The newer exit signs are form over function. The older ones can last years. The old daybrites in my old elementary school is still standing and work. If I had to choose a old sign that didn't fit in modern architecture that looks like an eyesore or a crappy generic that comes doa. I would take the old sign.

I would been fine with led exit signs if they weren’t so crappy and looked like the older exit signs.
