@@appelusaSorry, can I just ask you one question, did you use different softer cushions for the back wheels on the skate that spins or keep the original cushions but loosened them a bit? Thanks again.
@@randomguy4820 I have cushions for my body weight. It doesn’t hurt to try different cushions if you’re having a hard time pressing. But I do loosen the truck for the spins appropriately. Obviously if they are loose and you are still having a hard time after pressing with all your night it might be a cushion issue
Spinning left - so left outer forward yes for sure. On right foot it would be right inner forward and right outer back. Left foot would be left inner back and left outer forward :)
My fave spin instructor! So I've been looking for forward inside edge spin help .. is there no such thing? I can't seem to find any tutorials on them? Edit: ok you showed a little bit in the very beginning of this video I will keep looking
Aw thanks for the feedback! forward inside spins are hard. Most people lean their whole body inside and then can’t hold their other leg up. So key is staying centered without letting the top of your head, shoulders or hips lean towards the inside, only the foot presses while torso merely rotated Ill look into making a video :)
Hi Brian! I know Deb very well, but we are both certified coaches with vast experience :) And we are both daughters of rink owners! We are actually working on doing a tutorial together!
It's a bit strange for me seeing you like this, your true self. Weird way to start a comment, let me explain. The first time I saw you was in the famous chet faker video, "gold". The experience of hearing the song and watching the video at the same time was something otherworldly, entrancing. That song was speaking to my ears in a time it meant a lot to me what it had to say. And at the same time, you three appear on scene, that road, that pitchblack night and dancing on rollerblades (it was the first time I saw that style of dance, never even heard of it before). I don't know if any of you felt something deep while you were recording at the time, I guess you must have been concentrated on the job, which is quite impressive. However, the final product (the videoclip) is something that steals my soul everytime I come to it. And specially you; I don't know what it is you have, but you feel like a goddess of the night in that work. And now I come round to what I said at the start of the comment: seeing you like you are, a human being (it still sounds weird, sorry), shocks me. There will always be a part of you encapsulated on "gold", 3 minutes of footage of you being something open to interpretation, of you being art. And in a strange way, I will always carry that part of you in a little space of my mind, even though I dont know you at all. I love that idea, it's beautiful. Again, I ask you to excuse my weirdness. You make wonderful videos and I'm subscribed. Just thought I wanted to get that out of my chest. Keep those tutorials coming!
I’m super flattered to read this from you. Yes - human - guilty! 😆 in all honesty I had to try really hard to play that part - doesn’t quite come naturally. The sexy skater part- not the skating itself 🤣 Yes tutorials will keep on coming! 🙏🏻
@@appelusa Your humility is remarkable, but I must say otherwise, as long as the "sexy skater" part goes. However I didn't think your performance was just about sexiness. Maybe I'm reading too much into the music video, but that's the beauty of art: you can throw away the original vision of the artist and put in there anything you want, specially if you have no idea what their work is about. I'm just kidding, but you did a spectacular work, I insist. I'd like to add that I'm very grateful for you answer. It means a lot to me: I'm talking to this person I've seen so many times in a video on youtube!!! You are incredible, thank you so much. I'll stay tunned.
@@appelusa That is sad. Quite the sacrifice. I'm Sorry. But thank goodness you still have your passion to skate and share your knowledge and love for skating. No one can take that away. Hugs my friend.
Art skating doesn’t rank in level 1,2,3 etc. there are however artistic skating tests, and the 1/2 turn jumps are in the first and second tests in freestyle. We don’t call it level 1,2,3 though. You are more defined by what event you skate in.
@@anaraquel1973 you could consider beginner level one, intermediate level two, and advanced level three- perhaps skating rinks would classify it that way. Beginner is learning to fall safely and get up, push side to side and stop. Intermediate is scissors or bubbles, crossovers, one foot balancing, backwards, etc. advanced is advancement of those mentioned and backwards crossovers. Spinning and beginner jumps. Transitions… Then you get into art skating disciplines and testing programs
@@appelusa . Am I in Intermediate or advanced basic level? Do the basic levels in most roller skating clubs follow the Star Skate Learn to Skate program?? What is your email address and the cost of classes? I am interested in them.😊
Hey thanks for breaking that down. I've been trying to wrap my head around that for months now.
Can't wait to practice this spin💕
I love the way you explain and break down everything. Very great teacher!!
Thank you Taliaa! Made my day :)
@@appelusa you’re very welcome!!
Thank you for this. I’ve been wanting to learn. Looks so pretty
Thankyou for helping me to get this spin by breaking the move down, it's a really difficult spin!❤

Perfect timing! Just started learning this spin last week, thank you so much!
Ah great! I have the artistic intro and exit to the spin coming next!
Did you ever do right outer forward? ❤ this video!!!! So hard to find roller figure skating vids.

Thanks Appelusa, Your breakdown of this is perfect for me.. and after eluding me for so long I'm now on my way to mastering this spin ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨✨✨✨

You should do lessons with Deb from Dirty School of Skate.

No I think you are right, there is something more there for sure. But just a little backstory on a personal level 🤗 💙
So....this is your parents rink, will this rink be opening again for skaters to be able to skate? So good to see you skating.

How loose should the trucks be for this?
It’s a personal preference. Cushions also make a difference (and quality of boots and plates!). But they should have some give!
