that’s not the point but ok. even at 250-300 the 150amp rig torch is gonna pop. and when you’re filling up some heavy ass pipe from the root you’re gonna need all 250-300 amps to get moving. that’s the point of a 26 style torch over a 17.
@@chronicsalt2735 Yeah but you can get a cheap 26 that would have been a more even comparison, the cheapy would have won if the test was how well it did in super tight spaces.. Pointless test you're comparing a cheap torch doing what it's not meant for to an expensive one doing what it's intended to do, might as well compare an apple and an orange based on how well they make a mimosa
This is NOT an apples to apples comparison! A 17 series torch against a 26? Find a cheap 300 Amp rated tig rig (most will also have a separate gas hose also). and do the same test. That would be the only credible comparison. Yes more expensive proven tools will outlast cheap ones but at least to an actual fair comparison.
With the right rod they can certainly learn technique but don't buy one new. AC used to dominate in stick welding long ago but the industrial machines were usually higher OCV than a buzzbox. You can do a surprising amount with AC and 7018AC rods exist so if that's all you have get to practicing!
You should be 17.5 years old, but! We are filled up for quite some time so you can apply as soon as now so your application is processing while waiting
That might be a #2 cable. A lot of ppl get it confused because a #2 is #2 AWG. You’re not really supposed to say 2 AWG because it’s too similar to 2/0, you can kind of see where it gets confusing.
i wish to be one of your welder sir... im from Philippines with 5 years welding experience, 4 on shipyards and 1 year on heavy equipment repair.... how to apply on your company sir?
This video started so wrong Hondas are one the best engineering in general they even have F1 cars 🏎️ is not the car it’s the driver, it’s not the welder it’s the welder 👨🏭
Lesson learned, don’t run 2.5-3x rated current.

Leather work boots are more durable than Crocs, totally apples to apples.
That is not a 2/0 i have 2/0 on my welding machine there is no way you would weld with that heavy lead that is probably a #2 welding lead
I think he meant to say a #2
We’re can I purchase that green Tig Welding one at ?
That's not a tig torch anymore, its a torch.
The Welding Academy instructor shows how to use the WRONG toch. Try a 2-inch, 20-lb power cable, it will hold more amperage haha.
Is the ac225 stick welder good for a kid to start welding
Try to get the AC/DC model and it will open up many more options for you including running tig.
No definitely not. You want something that is DC not AC
