The whole game, I thought she was supposed to be some sort of non-human entity that wasn't supposed to have feelings and then I got to this part...her voice actress is so great~

I've just realized, Lumina has the same voice actress as Glame Princess from Adventure Time, now I'm going to be expecting her to tell Lightning to "DO THE SPLITS!!!" :-)

Ehhh... she BARELY manages to win me over. This, in addition to that one line she says before she disappears, Lightning asks her something like "Who are you really, then?" and Lumina responds "Just somebody who should have never existed." I really feel they should have done more with Lumina's vulnerable side, though. Made her more sympathetic, and human/relatable.

That's probably Lumina's purpose though. To be tricky and vague as possible, just like Lightning's suppressed emotions. She only expresses emotion to the degree that Lightning does (Which is not often hence why she's always shown to be the opposite of Lightning). Why is there a huge shift in Lumina's personality in this scene? Lightning finally understands Serah is going to die and she begins to express care and worry for Serah. The moment that happens, Lumina begins to take on Lightning's real personality and stops playing games. They begin becoming one of the same person because Lightning is beginning to realize what's happened to her.

Hmm... I think it's because Lumina doesn't like to be alone and you saw what Lightning did to her......she abandoned her......remember when Fake Serah said "You deserve to be alone!" and then Lightning says "No.....don't leave me alone" and you'll see Lightning accepting Lumina? My point is, Lumina doesn't want to be completely abandoned by Lightning but she was in this scene but then it all changed (Think about it, the only person who you love just abandons you)
I think Lumina was saying out loud what Lightning was feeling. Lightning had a feeling she knew what would happen next and didnt want that fate but she felt she had to do it. So when Lightning left lumina, she was actually leaving her true feelings.
kazameltis I dunno if you played persona 4 but the phrase that always appear in the beginning of the shadow boss fights 'I am a shadow, the true self" applies here.
