Are you really still complaining guys? You wanted changes in the commentary. They did. You wanted better graphics (logic - New Gen). They did. They really upgraded the game from NHL14, it's evident. And considering the fact that this game is still selling less (a lot) then Madden or FIFA, we should be very happy with what they've done. Now, stop acting like 4 years old kids and be happy with what you have.
For me, it's about the fact that there are always the same goals being scored on goalies, i'd like to see some improvement in this aspect of the game, and more randomness of goals. It just seems like every year, there are 2 or 3 kind of shots/moves that are basically guaranteed goals, and IMO this is what makes it boring and ruins the game (Especially online play).

It sounds like what he did with NHL Faceoff in the late 90s and early 00s. I was kinda hoping for a SCORE, or DRIVE within either trailer. Hopefully his commentating is more energetic when the game releases.

Looks great, it's a lot more realistic, jersey's move around a little too much I think like when the goalies were warming up Crawford's jersey was freaking out. The gameplay looks very good though, feels like an actual NHL game.

Its better to be scored on because your late period defense sucks than having the clock freeze for 3 seconds, allowing your opponent to score when the clock should've expired. Right Jackets fans?
So many things to complain about to be honest. Those who are saying "shut up" to people complaining are crazy. Most of the complaints I've seen are rightful complaints. For starters, the exciting Doc Emrick you hear in real life isn't the Doc Emrick in this game. In this game he sounds like a lazy, boring Doc that just woke up. Not exciting at all, literally reminds me of the commentary in NHL 2K9. Huge hit along the boards (1:14) and not even ONE comment on it. When a goal is scored there is absolutely no enthusiasm. Doc in real life would jump out of his chair in excitement. I thought the graphics were pretty cool except for the jerseys. For some reason EA made it look like the players are playing in an F5 tornado. If they don't tune that down a little bit, the game would be better off without jersey ripples altogether. The crowd is pretty cool but it could use some more improvements. Going back to the hit along the boards (1:15) early in the game, that looked a little sketchy. On a positive note most of the hits looked pretty good and the puck physics looked great. The handles, deking and passing looked super crisp. The game looks cool but there are a lot of improvements to be made in order to meat up to all the hype and expectations.

Of course I'm going to want it to be perfect, and with a few EXTREMELY simple fixes (that EA will refuse to fix) it could be close to it. So no, there is no reason to shut up. If I said there was nothing wrong with the game I'd be lying, as would you be if you said the same thing.
This game looks amazing overall, I can't wait to play it. Also, I think it would be pretty cool if they added a few minutes of warm up time before the game starts, and be able to make your own warm up drills, basically like create play mode.

I finally figured out the problem with video game sports commentary, that goes beyond the robotic way sentences flow together. They're recording their lines in completely quiet studio. Normally they are trying to speak with 15+ thousand people screaming in the building. It totally alters your voice's volume, pitch and cadence. I mean, it doesn't even sound like Doc because he's using a normal speaking voice, instead of that squeaky/scratchy sound he is known for (which comes from announcing above the crowd noise).
***** The only other trailer that had him in it was actual Stanley Cup commentary. Unless I'm mistaken this is the first time we've heard their ingame commentary.
***** I know they recorded soooo much more commentary, and this barely scratches the surface of what we'll hear. I just hope some of it includes emotion. Listen to the way he commented on Seguin's goal. It sounded like he was reading from a script, not watching a beautiful goal. My point is, big moments that impact the outcome of a game can happen in the first and second periods too. This isn't the NBA where only the last five minutes matter. That's what makes Doc so good at what he does, he brings it for a full 60. I hope it's better than this when they release it.
I really like the fluid animations like the dekes/cutbacks and right after you score. I like the new commentary and broadcast too. Looks really good and can't wait to get my hands on it!
Graphics look great! With out a doubt E.A nailed that part of their game. However, most of us hockey fans are more concerned about gameplay rather than how a puck brushes up against a jersey. From this 3 minute clip many of us "hardcore hockey fans" can tell that the A.I still doesn't react as realistically as many of us were hoping for. Also their are still gameplay physics that are missing from this game. For example, on the back check at 1:50, due to the body positioning that Jamie Mcginn (#11) had on Jonas Brodin (#25), Mcginn would have easily been able to separate Brodin from the puck. This problem is largely due to the fact that sticks can magically go threw players. Luckily, and i say luckily because this doesn't always happen when it should, Brodin did loose the puck on the play. This problem is not the case in real life, because players are able use their legs and body positioning to separate player from puck. However, my point is that it did not look realistic, it just looked like another hockey game created by EA sports. Another example of this is at 2:50 where Reilly Smith (#18) caries the puck into the Capital's zone. Brooks Orpik (#44) has great gap control on Smith, however Smith is still able to get a good shot off because his stick goes right through Orpik's legs. This problem makes it extremely difficult for players to play defense without taking bad tripping or hooking penalties, because they know that the only way to separate a player from the puck is to poke check, stick lift, or flat out hit them. So if you read this Ea Sports, which I doubt you will unless it receives a lot of likes, please listen us about this problem. it will make the game more realistic which is what we all have been begging for.
I can tell you that sport video games are not for the "hardcore fan." Because you will always find something wrong with it. I have just learned that something's they just can't do, and I live with that. I know it's a VIDEO GAME, and there will never be a perfect hockey simulator, or any sport for that matter. I still enjoy playing and can't wait for the demo!

+Justin Marinelli yeah and there ARE many little things that they could easily fix aside from gameplay. for example, why can't I save the pre game sliders so that I dont have to rush to set them up before my opponent looses patients and leaves before the game even starts. Also why can't i edit and save the lines that I want so that I don't have Ea's horrid lines and have the same problem with people becoming impatient. also why can't I play co-op online team play so that I can play at my house and my friend and his little brother can play on their playstation with me at theirs. and for that matter why can't we play co-op on EASHL. you can argue that you wouldn't be able to do it because of the close up camera angle, but mostly all people i talk to use ice or one of the custom views. I can go on and on with these easily fixable problems that have been solved by many other games such as madden and FIFA. I can only assume that the creators of the nhl franchise are just lazy and don't care about their fans. and they seem to only care about hyping up a few insignificant changes such as jersey movements and commentary that gets bland eventually, no mater who the the commentators are, and state that they improved the A.I by giving it a fancy name to gain money. so I say #Firerammer because he has given up on what is actually important, the fans.

Ps the jerseys movements affect gameplay, like the puck catching on someone's jersey and slowing down.

I'm really excited for this, and have already ore-ordered... But... Growing up a Devils fan, I've heard Doc call countless games. This doesn't even sound like him save for his voice. Where's the enthusiasm? Where's the volume? The raspy yell? A guy gets a breakaway and he calmly says "he brings it to the front of the net"? Not to mention the weak way he says "scores" in this video... That isn't Doc at all. Somebody failed to tell him to get excited and not read the paper in front of him.

It will get better just like NHL does every year. This game is better than last year but still all of you will try and find the slightest thing to complain about.

One thing that made me very impressed is that instead of inaccurate computer-generated announcers in the game intro, the announcers in this game were recorded in real-time and edited into the game as if they were there in real life. Plus, the the real-time city clip setup a great transition. In general, the presentation leading to gameplay was nice.
regarding commentating....lets remember that no matter how many lines they say they wrote for doc and eddy...their speech is prompted by gameplay thus the robotic commentating
Those jersey physics are atrocious. Jerseys move too much, the back side looks like a cape sometimes. Please fix this shit. If it's still in there when the demo comes out, I probably won't be buying NHL 15. That is absolutely the dumbest physics I have ever seen and should not have got as far as it did. 2K has had realistic physics for clothing in their games for years now. I genuinely cannot even be focus on the rest of the game, it's too distracting. I know they don't give two cents about what we think. It will be the first NHL I have not bought since 97. They haven't had a great reputation with fixing things and tend to just leave this unfixed. From reading the comments however, perhaps there seems to be enough backlash that they might change it. I do hope so.

I love this! The NBC Broadcast is awesome! I expected the new commentary to be a little choppy since it's the first year. I think it's pretty good considering it's new. The graphics are amazing, also, and I really didn't pay much attention to the jersey movement. It is a little much, but it's not bad enough to distract me from the gameplay. I really need to get an xbox one.

Love all of the trivia Doc says early in the game, that's specific between the two teams playing. Something that they had in the previous game that's even better. Overall, the presentation is obviously a lot better. I love that it's based off of the NBC broadcasts, even though I miss Jim Hughson being in the games. The game looks even better than last year, and the gameplay itself looks fair. I'm kind of disappointed they didn't go out all the way and fully change all of the presentation when moving to a new console (like they did before), such as the beeping sound when the period is down to the final seconds. Other than that, I love how this game is turning out.

People don't realize how big of a difference a new game is compared to an old version. I remember putting on 2010 and I thought my tv was broken because how bad it looked compared to 2012. I'm just grateful to play nhl again and reclaim my number one spot. Switching to the ps4 almost killed me this past year with no nhl. Hope you all master the demo because I'm gunna snipe score celly all day!
You guys need to put in multiple commentators. CBC people for games in Canada, NBC for the states. Would be epic and it would keep the commentating fresh!

I finally figured out the problem with video game sports commentary, that goes beyond the robotic way sentences flow together. They're recording their lines in completely quiet studio. Normally they are trying to speak with 15+ thousand people screaming in the building. It totally alters your voice's volume, pitch and cadence. I mean, it doesn't even sound like Doc because he's using a normal speaking voice, instead of that squeaky/scratchy sound he is known for (which comes from announcing above the crowd noise).
Somebody get this comment to EA RIGHT NOW!!

***** I know they recorded soooo much more commentary, and this barely scratches the surface of what we'll hear. I just hope some of it includes emotion. Listen to the way he commented on Seguin's goal. It sounded like he was reading from a script, not watching a beautiful goal. My point is, big moments that impact the outcome of a game can happen in the first and second periods too. This isn't the NBA where only the last five minutes matter. That's what makes Doc so good at what he does, he brings it for a full 60. I hope it's better than this when they release it.

I really like the fluid animations like the dekes/cutbacks and right after you score. I like the new commentary and broadcast too. Looks really good and can't wait to get my hands on it!
Graphics look great! With out a doubt E.A nailed that part of their game. However, most of us hockey fans are more concerned about gameplay rather than how a puck brushes up against a jersey. From this 3 minute clip many of us "hardcore hockey fans" can tell that the A.I still doesn't react as realistically as many of us were hoping for. Also their are still gameplay physics that are missing from this game. For example, on the back check at 1:50, due to the body positioning that Jamie Mcginn (#11) had on Jonas Brodin (#25), Mcginn would have easily been able to separate Brodin from the puck. This problem is largely due to the fact that sticks can magically go threw players. Luckily, and i say luckily because this doesn't always happen when it should, Brodin did loose the puck on the play. This problem is not the case in real life, because players are able use their legs and body positioning to separate player from puck. However, my point is that it did not look realistic, it just looked like another hockey game created by EA sports. Another example of this is at 2:50 where Reilly Smith (#18) caries the puck into the Capital's zone. Brooks Orpik (#44) has great gap control on Smith, however Smith is still able to get a good shot off because his stick goes right through Orpik's legs. This problem makes it extremely difficult for players to play defense without taking bad tripping or hooking penalties, because they know that the only way to separate a player from the puck is to poke check, stick lift, or flat out hit them. So if you read this Ea Sports, which I doubt you will unless it receives a lot of likes, please listen us about this problem. it will make the game more realistic which is what we all have been begging for.

I can tell you that sport video games are not for the "hardcore fan." Because you will always find something wrong with it. I have just learned that something's they just can't do, and I live with that. I know it's a VIDEO GAME, and there will never be a perfect hockey simulator, or any sport for that matter. I still enjoy playing and can't wait for the demo!
KingEdits Yeah man, but it seems like there are really small things they could fix pretty simply but just don't. All negative things aside, I'm also pretty pumped for the game and demo.
+Justin Marinelli yeah and there ARE many little things that they could easily fix aside from gameplay. for example, why can't I save the pre game sliders so that I dont have to rush to set them up before my opponent looses patients and leaves before the game even starts. Also why can't i edit and save the lines that I want so that I don't have Ea's horrid lines and have the same problem with people becoming impatient. also why can't I play co-op online team play so that I can play at my house and my friend and his little brother can play on their playstation with me at theirs. and for that matter why can't we play co-op on EASHL. you can argue that you wouldn't be able to do it because of the close up camera angle, but mostly all people i talk to use ice or one of the custom views. I can go on and on with these easily fixable problems that have been solved by many other games such as madden and FIFA. I can only assume that the creators of the nhl franchise are just lazy and don't care about their fans. and they seem to only care about hyping up a few insignificant changes such as jersey movements and commentary that gets bland eventually, no mater who the the commentators are, and state that they improved the A.I by giving it a fancy name to gain money. so I say #Firerammer because he has given up on what is actually important, the fans.

There is also new physics, new AI, new celebrations, improved skill stick, improved crowds, custom arenas, apparently skyline shots (which is very, very minor but still kinda cool). Ps the jerseys movements affect gameplay, like the puck catching on someone's jersey and slowing down.

Growing up a Devils fan, I've heard Doc call countless games. This doesn't even sound like him save for his voice. Where's the enthusiasm? Where's the volume? The raspy yell? A guy gets a breakaway and he calmly says "he brings it to the front of the net"? Not to mention the weak way he says "scores" in this video... That isn't Doc at all. Somebody failed to tell him to get excited and not read the paper in front of him.

Some of you are ungrateful. You are on here complaining about the commentary.. No nothing was worse than the previous announcers. Its the first year with Emrick on the call. It will get better just like NHL does every year. This game is better than last year but still all of you will try and find the slightest thing to complain about.
Hopefully the NHL team pulls a Madden and steals quotes that were recorded on air for next year.

One thing that made me very impressed is that instead of inaccurate computer-generated announcers in the game intro, the announcers in this game were recorded in real-time and edited into the game as if they were there in real life. Plus, the the real-time city clip setup a great transition. In general, the presentation leading to gameplay was nice.
regarding commentating....lets remember that no matter how many lines they say they wrote for doc and eddy...their speech is prompted by gameplay thus the robotic commentating
And don't forget that he's a bad actor too, that doesn't help.

Those jersey physics are atrocious. Jerseys move too much, the back side looks like a cape sometimes. Please fix this shit. If it's still in there when the demo comes out, I probably won't be buying NHL 15. That is absolutely the dumbest physics I have ever seen and should not have got as far as it did. 2K has had realistic physics for clothing in their games for years now. I genuinely cannot even be focus on the rest of the game, it's too distracting.
I know they don't give two cents about what we think. It will be the first NHL I have not bought since 97. They haven't had a great reputation with fixing things and tend to just leave this unfixed. From reading the comments however, perhaps there seems to be enough backlash that they might change it. I do hope so.

I love this! The NBC Broadcast is awesome! I expected the new commentary to be a little choppy since it's the first year. I think it's pretty good considering it's new. The graphics are amazing, also, and I really didn't pay much attention to the jersey movement. It is a little much, but it's not bad enough to distract me from the gameplay. I really need to get an xbox one.

Love all of the trivia Doc says early in the game, that's specific between the two teams playing. Something that they had in the previous game that's even better. Overall, the presentation is obviously a lot better. I love that it's based off of the NBC broadcasts, even though I miss Jim Hughson being in the games. The game looks even better than last year, and the gameplay itself looks fair. I'm kind of disappointed they didn't go out all the way and fully change all of the presentation when moving to a new console (like they did before), such as the beeping sound when the period is down to the final seconds. Other than that, I love how this game is turning out.

People don't realize how big of a difference a new game is compared to an old version. I remember putting on 2010 and I thought my tv was broken because how bad it looked compared to 2012. I'm just grateful to play nhl again and reclaim my number one spot. Switching to the ps4 almost killed me this past year with no nhl. Hope you all master the demo because I'm gunna snipe score celly all day!
You guys need to put in multiple commentators. CBC people for games in Canada, NBC for the states. Would be epic and it would keep the commentating fresh!
