One day a guy DM'd Zoe on Instagram and told her he thought she was really pretty and that he wanted to get to know her better. He said he was interested in finding a girlfriend (Yup). Zoe kind of knew him, she knew of him but had never really met him or talked to him before. So, she started looking though is account and noticed that they had a mutual friend - Kiara.
She texted her friend, not so much for dating advice, or relationship advice, but just to find out how well she knew this guy. Well, it turns out that Kiara was all about setting them up and making a love connection. Zoe's first reaction was not all that great really, she wasn't interested in him, wasn't attracted to him, but she still decided to give him a chance. She was intrigued by him because she had never met someone who was so direct, so forward, and it was refreshing.
He told her how pretty he thought she was, and that he really wanted to get to know her, and that was the most bold thing a guy had ever said to her, especially considering that they had never really talked before that. So after a few weeks of getting to know him she actually ended up liking him back, and after awhile, even though it was never really official, everyone just knew they were "a thing," and item.
But then she was at Kiara's house and her friend told her that he had called her a really nasty and terrible name on the phone the night before. Zoe was totally shocked and surprised and asked if this was a word that he used a lot, like regularly, and then Zoe realized that regardless, she was done with him. She never wanted to talk to him again.
She called him out on it and confronted him and he acted like it was no big deal, that he just used it casually and when he was joking around with his friends, and that made it even worse.
Because that word is not a joke, not funny at all, in fact it's a slur.
She had really liked him, and it was a total shock. She swore to herself, I Will Never Speak To My Boyfriend Again. She got rid of him on Snapchat, un-followed him on Instagram. She just wanted him out of her life completely.
So much for her first high school relationship.

Something similar like that happened to my sister. Her ex boyfriend's new partner called her number and kept calling her the N word and even had his mom call her just to harass her. So with me being big brother and having a huge hate against racist bigots, I decided to call him up myself and hurt his ear by playing an audio of Wario screaming at max volume.

So a few years ago I was friends with a group of people and there were 2 or 3 boys (who are white) that would actually say the n-word repeatedly and at that time I knew it was an offensive term but I didn't know how much as I do now so I would always say "look you can't say that it's an offensive term" and they never listened and they even started teasing me about it started saying "ok ni-" then would stop, pretending when they were about to say it, now I personally wasn't offended by them saying the n word but I just knew it's not a nice term and I didn't want anyone else to get offended by them saying it bc you don't know who you can offended and I truely didn't want that. It got so bad that I had to shout at then to stop saying it, and they did. I'm not friends with them anymore (bc of other reasons) and I haven't heard them say it since.

I used to have a friend who would constantly say the f slur and r slur, and I would tell him to stop, because they’re both two slurs he cannot say. And the thing is I’m gay, and it he knew it, and I told him that it hurt me. And he was like “oh I just won’t say it infront of you” like Idc who you say it to, YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY IT AT ALL PERIOD. And he would say stuff like “oh I just say it as a joke around my friends. I just call them f*****s sometimes” And he used to say “it’s just a joke” it’s not a joke, thats a slur. And the fact that he knew I was gay, and I opened up to him and told him my experiences being gay, and the fact that he continues to say it just hurts me so much. From that day on I stopped talking to him.

I went through the exact same thing. I dated this girl and my best friends are black, and they are like sisters to me. My ex told them she was going to call them "fried chicken," and asked one of them, "are you half white, bc you don't sound ghetto," and literally uses the "n-word." Can we talk about how much the animation has improved over the years. Like honestly the character design (ik they're real ppl but I rlly don't know what else to call it) has improved so much and they put much more detail into it. Me, who doesn't even know what the N-word is: *Visible Confusion*
It's a racist slur. Don't ever say it unless you're black. I'm not black so I can't tell you the word but it starts with "N" and ends with "R" or "A". If you don't know anything about the slur, just Google
"The N-word Wikipedia" but only for educational purposes. Not to use it in the future. The N-word is REALLY hateful.
White people started using the slur to make black people feel bad about themselves, so after the black people were free, they adapted the slur and made it into something only they 'can' say and to something 'cool' I guess. They basically adapted the slur for themself to make the racists "lose power" over the slur I think.
It's like when homophobes say the F-Slur (Fa**ot). We gays adapted the hateful slurs and made it cool and badass in our community instead. But it's still hateful if a queerphobic person says it to us. Same goes for Transphobic slurs like "T****y". (I'm trans/Non-Binary but I'm still gonna censor the slurs here).
Same goes for disabled people like myself. I have Aspergers and ASD and I'm allowed to say the R-word/slur to myself because I am one and it actually makes me pretty confident to say that about myself because we're making it sound cool and funny to me and other disabled people, which helps us forget about the original and hateful meanings behind it, kinda.. ✌✌✌

Since I'm Black (African) I can say it. The N-word is "Nigga" or "Nigger"

No, he’s not racist. He just uses a derogatory term in the context of “friend” or “buddy” - The same way most people use it. If it is as bad and hurtful as it’s told out to be, then nobody should be able to say it. I agree that it’s a very hateful word, so why even have it around at all? If he was racist, he wouldn’t have dated + asked out a African American Woman. It’s logic. Why didn’t she think of that?

I really can relate to this video. I never have been in a relationship with someone that called my friend an N word. I have been dealing with that all the time people in my building call me the N-word. I get mad, I don’t like when anybody call me their N word. I really want racism to end..
