Fun fact regarding ON: right before JK’s solo part, when they all peel off in that vertical line, they are doing so in order of age! So it begins with JIN, on down the line, ending with JK. Pretty cool! Also, I saw in the comments where someone was talking about Korean age versus Western age, and how Korean age is one year more than how we would count. What they do in Korea in calculating someone’s age, is they count every calendar year that you’ve been alive. So, if you’re born on December 31, then on January 1 you are two years old (even though you’re actually only two days old)! Kind of crazy, but they have several interesting customs regarding age in Korea. Don't listen to those who comment on the pausing you do as you please its your channel, and I am sure most of us don't mind. Okay now to V and his hair i agree its my favorite style of his black and shaggy . Its great you are getting to see the dancing . Also when you are ready do some more live performances they are great. One of my favorites is when they were on Jimmy Fallon doing butter. They actually did it from Korea due to the pandemic , they did it on a huge bridge, they all looked so great and you get to see a dance break. Another great reaction from you thanks.
I just about died when you pulled out the iron, that was awesome. Your phonetic mimicry is really good! In case you haven’t seen this yet, a lot of their songs have lyric videos and while the translations aren’t always great, they’ll often include a romanized version of the lyrics in Korean. If there are words you’re not sure how to say, you could use the lyric videos to figure out the pronunciations. (Not a comment on what you already do, I super enjoy you regardless, more just throwing out a potential resource in case it’s helpful! 😁) loved the jam session!! 💜
I think in the future I will get more like "accurate" but right now, I feel like a sponge just absorbing as much as possible! Like knowing how they kind of say it is good enough for me for now, but maybe in like a year I feel like I really could get the words down at least for my favorites :)

Yes - "Autogenerated subtitles" generates what it thinks is English but is actually Korean. So you will end up with nothing but nonsense except maybe for the few English lyrics in their songs. English closed captions means someone has translated it and added it to the captions. Big difference. If you can't find English closed captions, then search for a video with "eng sub" in the title. You can do that for music videos and live performances both and it doesn't work in only very rare cases, in my experience. For example, I did that for "Dope" and this is the first video (among several) that came up: ruclips.net/video/2p1Wtc6WFfs/видео.html. Doing that probably isn't any worse than the lyric videos, and at least you're watching the MV or the live performance, which is much more interesting for us viewers (my humble opinion).

The same thing happens to me, none of my friends listen to bts and i tried to teach them but they don't like the kind of music they can't understand, i don't care about that, i started listening to bts in 2020 and i couldn't let them go, all of They are beautiful and attractive, they completely caught me even more with their way of being and with the lyrics of their songs, they heal the soul.
Same for me too. I've tried & tried to get my friends to listen. They just say "I don't listen to that type of music." I'm not going to give up though....they will eventually come over to the BTS side. I also enjoy watching with Lex because it really is like listening with your best friend. I feel so much better that I'm with all of you guys because you all understand "the BTS effect". And, yes Maria, they do heal your soul. 💜

I would love for you to watch Perfect Man performance by BTS. It is THE live performance that really introduced Mr Park Jimin to the world. They are all fantastic in it (RM was not in the performance cuz he was sick or injured) but it is simply unforgettable. Jimin with orange hair in all black🔥🔥🔥

The choreographer for this performance of ON is the woman front and center at the beginning of the MV. She was 19 when she choreographed this and her name is Sienna Lalau. There is a behind the scenes video of her teaching them the dance and also the taping of this performance. I love watching the behind the scenes stuff. YES! RUN BTS is so funny and worth doing here. The episodes are free and don’t get copyright strikes. My 2 absolute favorites; Episode 31, The Amazing Tomato Song and Episodes 102 & 103 are actually a 2 part episode, Avatar Cooking. Bangtan TV channel has all the episodes. Once you get into them you’ll want to see all of them. The variety of games and competitions is really genius. Maybe you could pick a day of the week like you are doing with The Rise of Bangtan? They’re @20 minutes. Mr. Rogers, the headphones game is classic 😁👍
Love the jam sess at the beginning, and the iron made me laugh. I totally sang too and since I also don't speak Korean I also end up making up words as well..haha ON Era V has one of my favorite hair styles, the wavy hair just suits him so well. Both of the dance are so good. Edit: Also I forgot to mention so the channel 1andK is another channel that has the official MV and for Dope is has the English subs. But FYI not all their MVs have subs. So always check on the hype channel first.

For Jin’s first verse I also hear Jimin’s voice so it’s very odd as well and then when Jimin said this is Bangtan style sounded more like JK 🤔 Maybe they changed it like they did spring day for example

I think Dope is so awesome! I just saw BTS for the first time live last month at their LA concerts and they began the concert with ON. They also performed Dope and did all the same choreo, and it was incredible!!! Yes! I love the choreography, and the charisma of the performances of both ON and Dope! (RM is adorable in the latter!) Though, I know you have basically reacted to three versions of ON already (and that you have a long list already as it is), but I do hope you can tack on the official MV of ON, as well, since it's such a different experience from the others. Also, the dance party at the start was so fun! And like others, your bringing out the iron cracked me up!
Finally! The choreo in ON never fails to stir my heart! The intense look on their faces during the final dance break says it all! AND I agree that this vid shows Tae's hair at its best, but Namjoon looks stunning in his blonde on black on white! Dope was a favorite in my early ARMY days (still is), and ON still just blows me away. In some ways I think it's the best 1st vid of BTS to show people (depending on their tastes). It blows the 'boyband' stereotypes right out of the water, and showcases them at their most powerful & dynamic, and it's just SO GOOD. Anyway :). I was just thinking, you came at a really good time. A comeback announcement is looking pretty imminent, possibly the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, although I we never know with Bangtan. But regardless, it won't be long, and you'll get to be a part of the whole thing, if you want to. The thought crossed my mind, and I got all excited for you :). This is the longest BTS has ever gone without a new album, and they are in a very different position now than they have been, with more of the industry watching, and more fans than ever before. It wouldnt have made sense to film them broken up like that back and forth so they just mouthed each other's parts for the mv. They eventually even changed it in their live versions but yes the studio version is not Jimin singing that first line. So proud of you already knowing their voices so well!

17:58 So I'm PRETTY sure .... when they recorded this, each line is swapped back and for the between Jungkook and Jimin (Jungkook: "This is Bangtan style" / Jimin: "It's different from the lying wacks" / Jungkook: "Every day is a hustle life" / Jimin: "I gotta make it fire baby"). But maybe once they looked at it when they added the choreography they decided that it made more sense for each of them to take two lines (Jimin: "This is Bangtan style. It's different from the lying wacks" / Jungkook: "Every day is a hustle life. I gotta make it fire baby") and so from the music video to now anytime they perform it live, the lines are split to match the music video. So the reason why it doesn't sound like Jimin is because it's JK. This happens a few times, like Spring Day, that whole first section through that first RM rap is all RM in the studio recording, but once they started performing it, Hobi sings that first section and then it goes into RM's rap.

In Dope music video they are represented with different jobs like jungkook is the police officer, sugar is like a captain of a ship, jhope is a race car driver, rm is a navy officer, jimin is a office worker I think, v is a detective , and Jin is a surgeon .
Regarding “Dope”, there is an explanation video by dkdktv (they are Korean) which will answer all your questions, including those you didn’t even imagine having! I highly recommend it. Also, PLEASE NEVER NEVER use auto generated translations. If you watch this video again, paying attention to the auto generated translations, I guarantee that you will laugh. I think these are the costumes that they were wearing, someone correct me if I'm wrong: Suga - Pilot RM - Bell Boy (Idk if that's the name in English, like he works at a hotel I think) Jimin - Office worker Jin - Doctor Jungkook - Police Officer J-Hope - Racer V - Detective (He was wearing a cosplay of Decective Conan, which I think is an anime) Also, some of the older videos that don't have English subs on Hybe Labels have them on the chanel ITheK, BTS used to have their videos posted there as well as on their offcial chanel but only have subs on the ITheK chanel. Also (lol) when you said "this doesn't even sound like Jimin" it's because it was actually JK's voice, the audio of Dope and the way they are lipsyncing in the video is actually different. When Jin first appeared in the video after V, it was actually Jimin's voice we could hear on the audio, and then in the bridge whe Jimin and JK kept switching places after singing 2 lines, of the 2 lines was actually not them. So when Jimin came on the bridge it was JK and then the next line was actially Jimin, then when JK started singing, the first line was JK and then it was Jimin and then they repaeted that. Idk if that made any sense lmao.

Don't listen to those who comment on the pausing you do as you please its your channel, and I am sure most of us don't mind. Okay now to V and his hair i agree its my favorite style of his black and shaggy . Its great you are getting to see the dancing . Also when you are ready do some more live performances they are great. One of my favorites is when they were on Jimmy Fallon doing butter. I just about died when you pulled out the iron, that was awesome. Your phonetic mimicry is really good! In case you haven’t seen this yet, a lot of their songs have lyric videos and while the translations aren’t always great, they’ll often include a romanized version of the lyrics in Korean. If there are words you’re not sure how to say, you could use the lyric videos to figure out the pronunciations. (Not a comment on what you already do, I super enjoy you regardless, more just throwing out a potential resource in case it’s helpful! 😁) loved the jam session!! 💜

Always select closed captions (CC) if available....NEVER never auto generated ones. Besides their 1st MV, they usually have CC for English lyrics. 😁💜🎶
Some of their early MVs like Dope don't have captions on Hybe's channel, but they do have captions on the 1theK channel.

Yes - "Autogenerated subtitles" generates what it thinks is English but is actually Korean. So you will end up with nothing but nonsense except maybe for the few English lyrics in their songs. English closed captions means someone has translated it and added it to the captions. Big difference. If you can't find English closed captions, then search for a video with "eng sub" in the title. You can do that for music videos and live performances both and it doesn't work in only very rare cases, in my experience. For example, I did that for "Dope" and this is the first video (among several) that came up: ruclips.net/video/2p1Wtc6WFfs/видео.html. Doing that probably isn't any worse than the lyric videos, and at least you're watching the MV or the live performance, which is much more interesting for us viewers (my humble opinion).

The same thing happens to me, none of my friends listen to bts and i tried to teach them but they don't like the kind of music they can't understand, i don't care about that, i started listening to bts in 2020 and i couldn't let them go, all of They are beautiful and attractive, they completely caught me even more with their way of being and with the lyrics of their songs, they heal the soul.
Same for me too. I've tried & tried to get my friends to listen. They just say "I don't listen to that type of music." I'm not going to give up though....they will eventually come over to the BTS side. I also enjoy watching with Lex because it really is like listening with your best friend. The choreographer for this performance of ON is the woman front and center at the beginning of the MV. She was 19 when she choreographed this and her name is Sienna Lalau. There is a behind the scenes video of her teaching them the dance and also the taping of this performance. I love watching the behind the scenes stuff. YES! RUN BTS is so funny and worth doing here. The episodes are free and don’t get copyright strikes. My 2 absolute favorites; Episode 31, The Amazing Tomato Song and Episodes 102 & 103 are actually a 2 part episode, Avatar Cooking. Bangtan TV channel has all the episodes. Once you get into them you’ll want to see all of them. The variety of games and competitions is really genius. Maybe you could pick a day of the week like you are doing with The Rise of Bangtan? They’re @20 minutes. Mr. Rogers, the headphones game is classic 😁👍

Dope was a favorite in my early ARMY days (still is), and ON still just blows me away. In some ways I think it's the best 1st vid of BTS to show people (depending on their tastes). It blows the 'boyband' stereotypes right out of the water, and showcases them at their most powerful & dynamic, and it's just SO GOOD. Anyway :).
I was just thinking, you came at a really good time. A comeback announcement is looking pretty imminent, possibly the end of Jan/beginning of Feb, although I we never know with Bangtan. But regardless, it won't be long, and you'll get to be a part of the whole thing, if you want to. The thought crossed my mind, and I got all excited for you :). This is the longest BTS has ever gone without a new album, and they are in a very different position now than they have been, with more of the industry watching, and more fans than ever before. It wouldnt have made sense to film them broken up like that back and forth so they just mouthed each other's parts for the mv. They eventually even changed it in their live versions but yes the studio version is not Jimin singing that first line. So proud of you already knowing their voices so well!

But maybe once they looked at it when they added the choreography they decided that it made more sense for each of them to take two lines (Jimin: "This is Bangtan style. It's different from the lying wacks" / Jungkook: "Every day is a hustle life. I gotta make it fire baby") and so from the music video to now anytime they perform it live, the lines are split to match the music video. So the reason why it doesn't sound like Jimin is because it's JK. This happens a few times, like Spring Day, that whole first section through that first RM rap is all RM in the studio recording, but once they started performing it, Hobi sings that first section and then it goes into RM's rap.

Regarding “Dope”, there is an explanation video by dkdktv (they are Korean) which will answer all your questions, including those you didn’t even imagine having! I highly recommend it. Also, PLEASE NEVER NEVER use auto generated translations. If you watch this video again, paying attention to the auto generated translations, I guarantee that you will laugh. They even “translate” the English phrases hilariously. Once again, thank you for your generous and genuine enthusiasm! Also, it was very nice to meet Shawn. Now we “know” the whole family. 🤙🤗🥰

Also (lol) when you said "this doesn't even sound like Jimin" it's because it was actually JK's voice, the audio of Dope and the way they are lipsyncing in the video is actually different. When Jin first appeared in the video after V, it was actually Jimin's voice we could hear on the audio, and then in the bridge whe Jimin and JK kept switching places after singing 2 lines, of the 2 lines was actually not them. So when Jimin came on the bridge it was JK and then the next line was actially Jimin, then when JK started singing, the first line was JK and then it was Jimin and then they repaeted that. Idk if that made any sense lmao.
