When food is scarce, wolverines are willing to fight in order to protect their meal. What do you think of this claw-filled battle?
those wolverines were related or something like neighbors or friends: they never bit.
Nat Geo WILD awesome
Looked like they were playing.
As ND documtaries on them killing prey?
It looked like wire-fu, just like with any weasel species to my knowledge, just much bigger than other weasels
2 wolverines killing eachother over a half eaten rotten corpse is the most Alaskan thing I’ve ever seen
Oop-I mean...TRUE
maybe not rotten... the weather is pretty cold.
The meat can’t rot it’s too cold, so it’s preserved and fresh. and they don’t care if it’s rotten.
Its Alaska. How tf will food rot?
Victooooooorrr!

Don't forget the Wolverine has starred in X-Men and its own solo movie. It has accomplished alot.
Such a magnificent animal. Especially it's claws.
🤣

"I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do isn't very nice" - James "Logan" Howlett, aka Wolverine, aka Weapon X
Can you imagine a Grizzly bear sized weasel?
Kinda funny how Marvel named a character after an animal and he became so popular that we'll forever have to add the search word "animal" when wanting to know more about wolverines.
I bet this wolverine has mastered all kinds of martial arts.
👍👍👌
This animals body design keeps re-emerging among mammals thanks to convergence evolution. During the Mesozoic a mammal that looked almost identical to this [and badgers] called Repenomamus, filled the same niche and likely looked almost identical. Though repenomamus was likely a better digger...had to be to survive in that fauna.
Notice the word design and think about that
You're not wrong at all.
My dad always had a soft spot in his heart for wolverines, but then, he was from Michigan.
Maize and Blue!
THIS WOLVERINE HAS SOME NINJA MOVES.
brutal acrobatic combat,,,,,, love it
The one and only time I encountered a wolverine I had my pants down taking a leak. As I was taking care of my business, I noticed this dark object coming at me at a high rate of speed about 1/4 mile away. I was over 20 miles, at minimum, from any vegetation at the base of the Moose's Tooth on the Kahiltna Glacier near Denali. By the time I was zipped up, you could hear the snarling and gnashing of teeth as this thing leaped, lurched, and bounded out of the deep powder snow 50 yards from myself. What a noise! I thought it was someone's malamute--and then I rapidly realized there was no dogs in any of the camps on the glacier...I suddenly realized WOLVERINE!!!!! Fear and loathing on 4 feet! Wow! The wolverine was so focused he barely saw me before until I yelled something to get it's attention. He barely missed a beat and immediately made a quick 90 degree turn to the right and just kept on running without a look behind.........
I felt so privileged to be that close to that specific mammal! What a gift!
It'd wouldn't be a gift if it saw you as food...
@Must Rästas wolverines are mammals.
Im concerned about you taking your pants down in such a low temperatures, and catching a cold.
Ur lucky what a gift from the one god allah
Most of your story sounded scared to death, not privileged
Every living being figths for it's survival, at the end of the matter. The meal was crucial for both wolverines, so they did their best in order to survive! But there is the rule: the strongest gets the meal, the strongest survives.
WTF! Even here
It apparently calls everyone bub just before shredding them to pieces
they ain't fears any competition, they brawling even with bears
Luciano Gonçalves
They are the truth fearless animal, more than a honey badger...
"What are you looking at, bub?"
i thought this dog sized weasel would already have enough perks to make him relatively top of the chain there but
"The wolverine is very quick and can run at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour when chasing its prey. The wolverine also pounces on its prey from trees. The wolverine stores its food in caches to eat later. It spray its caches of food with a stinky musk that keeps other animals away."
he's overpowered and we need an update.
1:57 Wolverine claws go SNIKT!
This is the first time I've seen an actual wolverine ever I didn't even know they actually existed until now I just thought they made up that name and gave it to wolverine the cartoon character
That didn't look like a fight...more like hey I can dance and roll better than you contest.
I thought the same. Pathetic effort. lol more like a mating dance
@@UtterlyHooves its spliced footage of two young juveniles playing to learn to fight. And a real encounter.. You can fund the playing clip else where..

Honey Badger: Who are you?
Wolverine: I am you, but better.
Wolverines are one of my favorite toughest animals
As Wolverine would say: Roooookie!!!
Im only here to find out if the claws actually come out or not
What's really cool about the wolverine is there was a prehistoric version called "Megalictis ferox". About the size of a very large modern Rottweiller, it weighed up to 264 pounds (120kg). Size was about 2 1/2 feet (76.2cm) at the shoulder.
Species Gulo gulo is the largest member of the Family Mustelidae, which also includes weasels, badgers, otters, martens and mink. Other common names of G. gulo include Quickhatch, carcajou, skunk bear (despite not being related to or part of the Family Ursidae) or glutton. It is a subarctic species, found primarily in northern hemispheric forests. The IUCN lists g. gulo's conservation status as Least Concern.
Aren't Brazilian river otters bigger?
Yes, and sea otters are the biggest. Maxing out at 120 pounds or so
I've lived in Alaska my whole life and never seen a wolverine. The fact that you got a shot of two of them is crazy.
The last Xmen release !
Aww they’re playin
That looked more like a well choreographed doubles gymnastic routine than a fight.
"Wolverine's claws come out!“...wait Ive heard that somewhere
As anyone can see, it wasn't 'total war', it was a display of dominance. Notice that neither wolverine actually bit the other one.
You are skilled to tell us war, or dominance? Could you show me the display?

Wolverines are undefeated,nothing like them.
A wolverine tried killing me for a partridge once, it had really bad hair with fowl language and was chewing a cigar. He looked at me and said "you're next bub"
Lol, no but it's a true story that I was in northern Ontario camping and we went partridge hunting and a wolverine stole our kill. We just took off running, we knew what he wanted. It was the bird or us. Not that I was scared, I just wasn't hungry lol.
Wolverine,American and honey badgers toughest little guys ever
Makes me want to have a snowball fight with a Wolverine.
Wolverines are awesome creatures but as the climate warms, they are losing their hold on places cold enough to thrive. What a shame it would be to lose this magnificent species.

They definitely put the carcass there lol
I've also thought about making shirts, shoes, socks, and trousers for a wolverine to wear. Since wolverines will always be totally the opposite of guinea pigs.
My favorite animal hands down.
