I just wanted to say that I'm so impressed with how you're doing. I think you nailed that feeling of "coming down" from the highs of your weekend. That's the beauty of sobriety, that you can actually think things like that through. This journey, no matter how one goes about it, requires a ton of self-awareness. It all goes back to being present, which at first is pretty overwhelming. Like you've said before, you have to "sit with those feelings" and it can be a bit unsettling even after a long time. But, now you know that any bumps in the road can be navigated. A few videos back, you were waiting for a cable/internet hookup. I thought if a person can stay sober through that, they can handle anything. 😄

Im still in the process of moderating/quitting drinking. Your videos on that were so incredibly helpful for me in a dark time. 💛

Keep being yourself. Of course, try to be sensitive. But you help so many people and i think the reality is (harsh as it sounds), somebody out there will be triggered by anything.

how do you stay sober? I want (and have wanted for about a year now) to not drink alcohol. but, at the same time, I struggle to understand the point of stopping. there will still be war in the world.... there will still be inequality, evil, injustice, homelessness, hunger, etc. around the world. it's just hard for me to understand why I should stop at times when I know I can't change the disgusting things that occur in our world. at this point, im drinking to slow my racing thoughts. I feel like I cant relax unless im drunk because I have so much anxiety about the world ugh

Hi Grey. I totally understand where you're coming from. I've found myself wanting to drink lately with everything happening in the world. But the one thing that helps me is reminding myself that no matter how bad things are, drinking will not make them better. At least when I have a clear mind, I have some chance at living a life I deserve and helping others through their own journeys. But if I was drinking, I honestly feel like I would just be adding to the destruction in the world by hurting myself the people I love, which can have much greater consequences than you may think. When I feel sad or angry or anxiety-filled, I do things that I know will make me happy like reading or going on a walk or cooking. But sometimes even those things don't work and I'm forced to just sit in my feelings which is hard but also a beautiful part of what makes us human. I hope this helps. DM me in IG if you want to talk more @stephmstill

You should get into the science of alcohol addiction. If your ever having an alcoholic craving it's because your body is trying to access the replaced dopamine alcohol used to fill. Alcohol LITERALLY changes your neurological pathways to trick your brain to thinking your body needs it to be happy...SO. if you have a craving. Do like 15 jumping jacks or some push ups. Give your body natural dopamine. Or eat a piece of candy. I'm being dead serious. 15 push ups will remove a craving. Great content thanks again. 5 days sober btw.

If you try not to offend anyone you will be miserable and not genuine. Be you. Also, social media is terrible.
