    Over 8 thousand rounds of the cheapest ammo I can run (Monarch 115 grain 9MM from Academy) and I have never had but a hand full of malfunctions. All ammo related. Monarch is Russian made and have hard primers. I can almost be certain it is the ammo and not the gun. CZ is flawless. It was designed and tested for the Military.

      U should cast and reload. Then u can totally control the quality for the same price or cheaper . Surplus powder is available and small primers are easy to come by right now . About 16c a rd right now. Maby 14 depends on your lead and powder choices

    I absolutely love my sp01 tacticool. Mine has had zero malfunctions even with WWB. Although, aside from my baby eagle, none of my other 9mms like WWB. If I'm testing reliable function, I will try cheap reloads and WWB to get them to fail. Once broken in, that cz will chew through anything. Much love y'all!

    I think it's the ammo. I have an SP-01 too and have had similar malfunctions with WWB. The SP-01 has the restrike capability with the double action that might have been useful on the second malfunction (light primer strike). The first one didn't let the pistol go fully into battery, so the restrike was not even possible. Still another great video!

    I don't know if you planned it, but the way the camera lined up showed the horizontal eave of the shed just above the horizontal top of the pistol, and that made it easy to see just how little muzzle flip it has.

  • @OMGWUNSIU

    Just bought this gun the other day, haven’t fired it yet... got some Harnady Critical Defense for my carry mag and the other two are filled with S&B hollow points. $139.00 for 125 rounds of 9mm! I’m a custom holster maker so I’m gonna make a standard OWB right hip holster and an appendix holster for when I don’t want to wear long shirts... the slide is longer than my other compact guns. I have been carrying some high end compacts and polymer framed guns (Kimber EDC & Walther PPQ M2) for a few years and the Kimber simply isn’t reliable and the Walther is super sweet, but the muzzle flip makes it hard to get back on target. My thinking is the CZ will solve these problems for me and I will just have to deal with the extra 12 to 15 ounces of weight to get a reliable, straight shooter. The fact that it came with 3 18 round mags is a plus. I’ll also make a double mag carrier so with 1 in the chamber that gives me 55 rounds to get out of any BLM or Antifa clowns that want to introduce me to their special brand of “Socialism” lol. Let’s hope the price of ammo comes down once we introduce these Democraps to President Trumps second term. God Bless The United States of America. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

      A friend of mine just got a CZ 75 SP-01 tactical Cajunized. It handles most factory/range ammo fine, but Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr FlexLock jammed up the slide ... didn't go into battery and had to hold the frame in one hand and strike the rear of the grip with the palm of his other hand to clear it. (Same problem as with the WWB in this video.) He said that the Hornady passed the plunk test, but the gun seems to have something against Hornady Critical Duty. How did the Hornady Critical Defense go? Did you try any other defensive ammo?

    Hey Nolan I almost exclusively shoot 9mm handguns anymore, with that said I was buying the Winchester 124 grain NATO stuff from my LGS for a while then switched to CCI blazer brass 124s, with many other brands in between. All shot fine but were horribly dirty. About a year ago I got on the Freedom Munition band wagon and I really like what they have to offer. I order in bulk so that’s a plus and I’ve had great luck with their 124 grain new and reman, 135 grain extreme hollow point target, and my favorite is the 147 grain new or reman. My CZ’s, Glock’s, and Sig’s love it, AR 9mm pistol too. I encourage you to try Freedom Munition. At checkout use the code “MAC” for 6% off your order, you can thank @MilitaryArmsChannel for that. Nice video as always brother!

    I have a Sphinx CDP Duty that will do that with 147gr. ammo. I have also seen it with a VP9. Some searches found that some Euro guns have tight chambers and will jam like this. Not sure why it would with 115. I have an SP-01 Tactical and have had zero issues. It is my current HD gun...and possibly my best shooting pistol. I love my CZ's...SP-01, PCR, P07 and a RAMI.

    I had my SP 01 Tactical last week and used Winchester white box 115 grain. Out of 84 rounds i had 4 malfuntions similar with this video. I had hard time in slider in the 4th malfunction, so tight and i was able to clear it the following day. I cleaned it and went back and shot 3 diffrent ammo brand (S&B, Remington -both 115 grain...and Blazer -124 grain, 50 round each). NO malfuntions at all. I decided to use the remaining 16 round of Winchester white box...i had malfunction on the 15th round, same issue, failure to chamber/jammed/whatever you call it. Contacted CZ-USA and i was told to send it back to them to check and will try the Winchester. Hopefully they will fix the issue because CZ-75 SP01 Tactical is the smoothest pistol i ever try.

    I love Cz’s but at the same time I will fully disclose anything about any gun that’s not good. I’ve seen a few problems with sp01’s over on gun forums and a RUclipsr Connor over at Guns & Stuff finally ditched his sp01 for problems that would not go away and bad customer service from CZ. I’ve had great luck with CZ guns but apparently even they let some lemons out the factory sometimes. Run it hard and see does it get any better, but I wouldn’t be willing to say it’s definitely ammo related just yet. I’ve been thinking about getting a sp01 phantom to carry this winter

I used the questioned ammo (Winchester white box 115 gr) without any malfunction. I tried Tulammo 115 gr steel-case and no issue. I also tried 50 rounds of hollow point and any brand will fire smoothly. To date, i shot 1,200 rounds. This pistol is one of my home defense firearms now and very confident of it.

    WWB runs poorly in many guns. Hard primers are the most common complaint but loose tolerances on brass size and seating depth happen frequently, too. CZ’s tend to run their cambers a little tight, too which is part of the reason they have such great accuracy.

  • @makotoyuki2199
    @makotoyuki2199 3 года назад

    I’m pretty damn sure it’s ammo. Winchester White Box can be two things. It can be relatively decent and reliable, and sometimes can be total schitt. It cannot be magazines since CZ mags just don’t fail like that, so WWB is probably the reason for that weird malfunction or two.

  • @william629
    @william629 6 лет назад +1

    If the round made its way into the chamber, it's not the magazine's fault if the round didn't fire when the primer was hit. I've had the same issue several times over with Winchester White Box in 9mm.

    Must be nice to prefer and get whatever gun you want. Here in California we can only get the safety version of the SP-01 because it was already legal when our stupid handgun roster came out. We are stuck to what’s only on the the roster. From what I can tell we never get the newer stuff unless it meets our ridiculous laws. We are so limited here. Can’t wait to move out of California.

    A little constructive advice. Better to sling shot the slide stop when chambering a round, rather then releasing the slide stop (it's not a slide release) forward. The sear takes a severe pounding which will lead to bigger problems down the road. I found out the hard way. Enough side. Awesome shooting. I could hear the steel ring from two rooms away!

    • @prairiehawkaerialimagery2443
      @prairiehawkaerialimagery2443 6 лет назад +2

      Sling shot release of the slide can result in slam fires. The slide stop is aptly named as it stops the slide and locks it to the rear on the final round, but it is also used to release the slide from that position. The sear on the SP-01 has nothing to do with the slide stop being released, and during the firing cycle is experiencing a far more violent movement than simply releasing the slide from the stop. Perhaps you had other issues with your firearm that were incorrectly diagnosed?

    • @Rocketman9mm
      @Rocketman9mm 5 лет назад

      @@prairiehawkaerialimagery2443 Just how the hell would a gun with a firing pin block safety slam fire? Especially from slingshotting the slide to load it but not from the slide actually cycling at super speed?

    • @prairiehawkaerialimagery2443
      @prairiehawkaerialimagery2443 5 лет назад

      Rocketman9mm the slide stop is positioned by the manufacturer to release the slide from a captive position where all forces are optimum to chamber a round from stop. Slingshot adds extra force because of the added travel. This is from manufacturers and NRA instructors, not my opinion. Also, while firing pin blocks are great and all, they are still a mechanical device that can fail at any point for a multitude of reasons. I’m not telling you that you must do this or your weapon will explode in your hand. It’s safe and prudent weapon handling. Do what you like and shoot safe.

    100% ammo related. I've seen numerous different types of pistols jam up out of battery to the point you have to grab the slide and judo chop the grip to get it out like that and every time it's the round that is out of spec. The misfire may just be a dud round. Did you try to shoot that one round again? I know one upgrade Cajun gun works does is put an extended firing pin in the gun for more reliable ignition specifically because some cheap ass ammo can have hard primers.

  • @yankfromthehills
    @yankfromthehills 3 года назад

    Handloaders will understand exactly what happened cz barrels are tight and not forgiving to longer rounds the 9mm headspaces off case mouth so a locked slide out of battery is excessive headspace for that barrel

    I had a bad mag from the factory with my sp01 tactical, don't know the cause but any malfunction out of 5 mags (3 purchased elsewhere) was the same mag, other then that flawless

    Welp I was looking up reviews on this gun thinking about purchasing one but not now lol. My glocks have never had a problem with this or any other Ammo lol. Not one single malfunction in 20 years of shooting glocks… I’ll stick with Glock, sig, HK lol dammit. I really wanted this gun lol

      I’ve certainly had problems with Glock. It’s a new gun I’d assume the chamber had some burrs and sharp edges. I’ve got a Glock with a lonewolf barrel that has tight chamber the rifling sticks in the projectiles and is sticky. Slide sticks all the time and when dirty hangs up chambering. It also hung and jammed because the extractor dug into the rim and it would load but I beveled it with a dremel. Don’t kid yourself all guns can have issues especially running various ammo. I had glocks blow the magazine out. They don’t have a fully supported chamber. And the trigger is mushy. But their ok . Not a nice cz or a beretta to each their own.

    I think the malfunction was ammo related, ive had soo many failure to fires running reduced power springs in my glocks to the point i stay away from Winchester. I stick with Remington and never have problems.

    is it just me or at 3:12 if you look at the front of the ejection port. is there something hanging out? but id say its either light hammer spring or hard primers on WWB. i dont own this pistol but i have a shadow and it has a light hammer spring.

    My SP-01 tactical has been fussy at times also with failures to feed and eject in particular. I haven't been able to pin down the cause but it runs great most of the time and it's certainly one of my favorites. The gun just feels great in hand and hits what you're aiming at.

    Does anyone know whether or not the CZ 75 SP-01 has what is considered a "match" (tight) chamber? If it does, this might explain the failure to go into battery with a cartridge that was a little larger than specifications and could be one of the reasons that the CZ 75 series of pistols shoot so well...?

    • @gregmccoy1020

      I've had same experience on my CZ p09.. they have short chambers. If any reloads are alittle long or wide THEY WILL NOT CHAMBER & or go in battery. I believe that's y they shoot so good. Powder coated bullets I've reloading are the biggest problem. Most work & then you'll get a few that don't..really pisses you off. Buddy of mine had same problem n Glocks. I believe it's bad bullets/out of spec. But I'll never get rid of my CZs. I've got 3.. CZ craze. Nice video

      @tauneutrino1able 7 лет назад

      Sand-Paper-Pistol-Grips my SP-01 has never had any problems, I'd be willing to bet the one round was out of spec and the other had a bad primer. About all I shoot is "cheap" ammo for practice, save the good stuff for "important" work (self defense and the few competitions I've done), and the only issue I've had in 5k+ is a hard primer that went off with a 2nd hammer strike. I think the accuracy CZ'S have is more to do with the full length rails and how the barrel locks up with the slide as opposed to a tight chamber.

    I shoot nothing but Winchester white box and have no issues with it. From what you have shown it is the gun not the ammo. CZ sp 01 is known for not going into complete battery.

    Great gun and video... this happened to one of my pistols after about 30 rounds, we had to push the slide back against a wood block for the ejection... it never happened afterwards. It was some range reloaded ammo, We assumed it was breaking in being i shot two boxes of the same ammo without any problems afterwards

    The mags that come with CZ are a pos. I had to buy new mags (they were different mags) and everything went perfect. Although with the stock mags I never had a malfunction like yours in the video I did have issues with the stock mags not pushing the slide release far enough to catch it on the last round and it felt like i was shooting an AK-75SP01 lol

    There is good ammo, there is bad ammo, and there is un-usable ammo. Winchester white box is un-usable ammo.

  • @lon242

    Hmm... I know tbe SP01 has a good rep but I've seen more than a few of them with issues. They're not thr same gun, but I had an Israeli Jericho that just wouldn't stop FTEing. You can maybe chalk it up to WWB, but do you think your M9 or Glock would've ran those rounds perfectly? I'd count on it.

    • @quinnwall5771
      @quinnwall5771 7 лет назад

      lon242 its the ammo, Winchester white box is the worst ammo on the market

    • @lon242
      @lon242 7 лет назад

      I'm not sure about that. WWB is kinda wimpy but it's not the worst, Winchester steel case is even worse. And a hard lock up like that, I dunno. I hope it works out for Nolan.

      @prairiehawkaerialimagery2443 6 лет назад

      Yeah, I've had M9's, G19's and G17's that would lock up with WWB. I have run just about every ammunition through my SP-01's including hand loads and the only failures were with WWB. Over 2000 rounds fired with just those malfunctions.
