Everytime I feel sad about getting older, or time passing by, I smile and thank God I've been on this earth in the same time as so many phenomenal artists like Plant, Page, Jones, and Bonham :) Life is good.
welcome to the zepplin family my friend :) Being only 48, they are slightly ahead of my time, but have listened to them for 30 years, and i must say what ever ya feelin', they got a song for ya. Peace out and keep on that journey of exploration there are so many more great old rock songs out there, you have only just merely dipped your toe in the ocean :D
man led zeppelin is the best band ever I've been in to this band since the 70s my dad had all 9 albums and I've been hook ever since! listen zeppelin ll album the hold album is good side 1 and side 2
Bought Zepllin 1, in 69. No idea what or who they were. YIKES! Went back to my first apt, starting to play and WOW. Needed headphones and a little "tune-up". Next thing I know it's dark. 50 yrs ago! Had never heard anything like them.
@@chrisguevara well Cream did, but they broke up by 69. Both Cream and Zepp spawned from the Yardbirds. The Yardbirds were literally the first heavy band in 65. Only a few of their songs were heavy, but it was a sound that no one heard. Heart full of Soul Is a wicked ass song.
Ya know how you know they are the greatest!!! You listen to them over and over, and over, and it just gets better. Oh yeah the greats are better live!!!
I will add that Bonzo is considered and admired as one of the best drummers of all time. John Paul Jones started as a session player and after Led Zeppelin he continued to be a session player for many other artist. John Paul Jones is a very talented player of many instruments. This video is just before they got famous. Check out the "Madison Square Garden" concert and "The song Remains the Same" video. I can not remember where but Bonzo has a 28min drum solo with bongos. The rest is talent that will never be matched.
Having been to 4 led Zeppelin concerts....I can tell you....its Shock! saw them first time in Montreal. I was 26 years old.. Vancouver in 75 2 nights in a row. Final time was Seattle in 1977. I'm still in shock at 76 years old. Nothing compares...was the highlight of my life seeing these guys and I have had many many amazing experience in my life from shaking hand with the Dalai Lama to hanging out with a royal princess for 4 days...meeting and standing in his garage chatting it up with Elvis Costello..Having lunch with NHL legend......Yep quite the life...Zeppelin well they were something else. Best ever and I have seen many of the greats.
I remember listening to this album for the first time while watching Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon. One of those “where were you “ moments. Still nothing like Zeppelin 50 years later and no equal. Saw them about a year after that and a couple more times🔊🔊🔊 No words to describe other than unforgettable💬🗯
@@megamaniac7402 Wrong. We had been listening to heavy groups like this in Britain since late 1966. There were several on the 'underground' scene. Cream, The Who, Free, Spooky Tooth, The Nice and not to forget Jimi Hendrix.
It's like the world (for the audience) was going from "black and white" to Technicolor before their eyes. Or like the audience was watching something from the future.
it's amazing. I cant remember which song it is but there is a solo in one of their songs from their movie "the song remains the same' probably second or third song featured in the movie (i had to look it up, it is 'Dazed and Confused' i'm thinking of, anyhow, the solo is different from the recorded version and he just shreds it, he's incredible.
What people generally don't realise about this magical performance is it's basically Jimmy breaking the band in, getting them ready for America. He deliberately misses beats and times to get them used to a live situation. Complete Genius. The guy is a living Mozart. They call me the hunter, that's my name.

Same goes for Jimi Hendrix. From the early 60's when he played guitar for Little Richard thru The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Band Of Gypsies and Woodstock. The rhythm in his voice along with being the greatest guitar player in history is my religion. Hendrix above all always and forever

I usually don't like live version videos from some groups like Led Zeppelin because they're typically sloppy, but this video here is really good. Quite enjoyable. Great pick
Robert was still searching for his groove in them days.. the rest of the band were already confident and not afraid to let it all hang out but i think Robert was still a bit gun shy and trying to find his onstage persona and confidence to be himself
This is their first ever performance! 1969...they just started! They beat the SHIT out of the Beatles...just a couple years before. Bad sound quality in the 60s especially on shitty TV. Nobody had seen anything like them! I was 9! Jimmy Page the BEST guitarist ever in the best band ever!
If you want to be hypnotized by the guitar check out Buckethead the song is Soothsayer....out of this world!! By the way he's called Buckethead for a good reason. You'll see

Gesh. This song. Art in its highest form. ♥️

Never heard anything like them since, either.
The GOATS OF ROCK.... in the 70’s their concerts would go 3 to 4 hours long. Try the Lemon Song and In My Time of Dying!!!!
3-4 hours is a real concert.
Kofi's Universe Dazed and Confused clocked in at 28 minutes at their Madison Square Garden show. That’s a must see.
@@melissalemar5372 Oh wow. That's 30 minutes.
Anything LIVE! So much fun to watch them play!
Love how the audience claps very nice while they sit in their chairs....there brains just got fried and they have no idea how to react😄😄😄
Yep...this is the late 1960s....Nobody sounded like this.
The audience was well-behaved because this wasn't a concert. It was being recorded for a television program.

That bass! A lot of the early songs contain random lyrics from old blues numbers.
A lot of every period's songs ARE old blues songs.

Early Led Zeppelin. I’m not sure if the audience was in shock or they were just a really laid back cool audience. But wow! Great reaction, as well.
Definitely chocked. Nothing like this had been heard of at this time.

@@hawkmoon03111951 I hear you. And I agree to a certain point. But nothing had been this consistently heavy before
You're feeling that John Paul Jones driving bass and Bonzo Bonham on drums!!!
Try the 1970 version live from Royal Albert Hall. 20:04 long. By far the best Page solos ever.like 8 of them. Blows this version to bits

They rock
All of 19 years old when he first recorded that song
Sooooo freakin tight!!!!!!
I feel bad for these folks, for their next show, if they saw anything other than Led Zeppelin they were absolutely disappointed.
And this is when they were starting out as a band!!!
Plant belting that voice there aged only 20....very eclectic and experimental times and they nailed it
Get ahold of the BBC sessions, all live. Sit back, light one and listen to two hours of live Zeppelin!
No one reinterprets black blues like Led Zeppelin!
