Picard always had the most eloquent ways of telling people off, lol.
"You gonna bark all day, Mr. Klingon, or are you gonna bite?" - Mr. Earl Grey
The Hottest of quotes
The average Klingon _at that time_ thought Humans and Starfleet by association were not Warriors. The then Chancellor knew their potential, which is why he was so dedicated to keeping the alliance alive - he may have remembered the history of when the Klingons were at war with the Federation and _did not win._
He knew something that the average Klingon did not, that Starfleet was a sleeping Dragon.
Did the opinion of the average Klingon change after the Dominion War (and the short Klingon/Federation war that proceeded it) when they saw just how powerful Starfleet was and how _violent_ battle hardened Humans could become?
"those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people will become as nasty and violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon."
That last quote was by Quark on DS9 right?
@RegBeta The Siege of AR-558, where they're stuck helping battered Starfleet personnel defend a communications outpost from a ground assault and Nog also loses a leg.
You are a legend for quoting Quark!! Keep ip the stream of wisdom 😊 .
I largely agree with you. I think you can compare Gorkon to Gorbachev. Gorkon and Gorbachev knew that times were changing. Both the USSR and KE were at bad points. Both leaders recognised that being at war with the UFP and the USA, is not going to end up well for them.
If a Klingon ever calls humanity weak just hand them a history textbook and watch them realize how wrong they were.
Kligons were afriad of Sisko. Worf was scared of him.
I believe fake Dax said he intimated mr Wolf, er Worf
@@JohnSmith-xq1pz Fake Dax?
@@danielhaire6677t host in series but ye wtf why she is fake or he think abaut episode when somone im not tell who
Doctor
Make another one but is not the same episode
Sisko has a whole list of klingons that fucked around and found out
@@defiantlytrill probably put him in his place. On the floor like he did Q
Sisko was bad ass
Sisko also punched Q, fully aware of what Q was capable of. That's confidence.
@@defiantlytrill Something along the lines of, "I wouldn't be too sure about that, if I were you."
As well as Jem'Hadar & Marque
I would say Kirk, but he was more than a captain.
And his first death in Generations still brings tears to my eyes.
First?
@@Chet_Manly Second was kind of bad
@@eillee8394 idk what he means by "first" death though...
@@Chet_Manly The one at the beginning where everyone _thinks_ he died getting blasted out into space by the Ribbon while saving the ship from it.
@@Ki_Adi_Mundi ooh, ok. I was thinking maybe he was referencing a novel or something.
Well actually 🤓
Sisko punched Q and he could've erased him from existence
That being said, Sisko was part of a different Starfleet, one more militaristic.
Picard one the other hand. He was basically raised on pacifism and yet he smacks others around at great risk to himself....
I mean dude almost died in a fist fight and here he stands, ready to go at it again with a Klingon this time.
You are both right!
I thought of the sisko/ Q thing right away too.
Both bad ass captain.
@@Koox0018 Very true.
Funny thing is, Sisko is half-Prophet, so Q probably _couldn’t_ do anything to him, or didn’t want to, either because he didn’t want to piss them off, or he knew that Sisko was going to be important in the future (Q being as least semi-nonlinear himself).
If they actually planned that at the time, it’s a brilliant piece of foreshadowing.
Of course, if Q is anything, he’s _not_ a bad sport. When Picard or Janeway won out, Q didn’t punish them or anything; he just made like Mr. Mxysptlk and went home to plan the next game.
Sisco would do the same, lol
"Right now I've got 5000 photon torpedoes armed and reday to launch. If you don't believe me then feel free to scan the station"
- Capt Benjamin Lafayette Sisko -
How's that for "Fuck around and Find out"?
"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational battlestation"
You have to figure the accent can still do some of the lifting here even lightyears away from Brit- I mean France.
“British conquered France” if you want to be universe-accurate
Janeway did Stick it the Borg Queen…
Sisko would've knocked him on his ass
True.
Then Sisko decked Q and Janeway picked fights with the Borg on the regular. So there's those as well.
Sure, Picard was the Great Diplomat of Starfleet captains, but dude didn't take crap from nobody, and he knew EXACTLY how to deal with Klingons in particular
Captain Kirk is the greatest Star Fleet Captain of all time!!
Come at me Bruh 😁
Do you remeber thing Worf say in ds9 when he went with several people visually modified into Klingons to Kronos undercover... you speak quietly, you don't look at me, are you afraid of me or disgusted by me? ... I feel like Picard spoke quietly and slowly on purpose xd
Kirk would be tearing his shirt off to "Real American", and asking Duras what he's gonna do when Kirkamania runs wild on him! :)
Ya'll say Sisko, but we old timers all know he was really Hawk all along.
When Sisko got angry, I occasionally expected him to walk into ops with a badass attitude, shades, and a monster .44 magnum.
to be fair, Kirk probably would...
Kirk hands down.
Well Done
At this point I would like to point out that in Star Trek, they often say how much bigger and stronger Klingons are, but on screen and in canon, whenever they fight, Starfleet is almost never outmatched by them. At all.
The best captain only said one thing in his old age and I'll never forget it. To quote, "Beep"".
I still think Archer is best overall with Insanely a close second. Picard was my favorite as a child. Archer and Janeway werent in run of the mill diplomacy situations like Picard was.
Archer & Kirk, I think were the best to respond back to foes in a unique way. Picard is a close 2nd. However, his style of diplomacy was different due to the Federation's appeasement policies and lack of need for updating weaponry. Have to show them you had more teeth in the game instead of having a ship that is a glass cannon & has families on board.
The best Picard moment is when he dies laughing. I couldn’t help but smile
Tapestry is an excellent episode :)
I disagree Captain James T. Kirk and Benjamin Sisko both ass captains would tell any species in a heart beat.
Sisko didn't give an F
ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY! Picard is the man, stan!
I agree that Picard is the best captain but I think most captains, at least hero captains, would say something similar. If only because it's the right answer when dealing with a warrior race.
I agree that Picard is the best captain but I think most captains, at least hero captains, would say something similar. If only because it's the right answer when dealing with a warrior race. Although Sisko would've probably decked him straight away.
Get bent!!! CISKO IS THE BEST CAPTAIN EVER!!!!!
Sisko probably would, he would probably just punch the Klingon, I mean he did punch a Q
IlJamyway kill thevfeat and Sisko punch Q
There is a hard choice xd
Archer would have just punched him.
Best Saturday night message ever xD
Title is a LIE!!! Everyone know that Sisko was the best captain.
Calm down, Benny
@@Chet_Manly Picard was not the emissary of time traveling beings with the powers of gods. Star Treks version of Moses and the guy most responsible for defeating the Dominion. Saving the entire aplha quadrant. And also maybe part prophet himself as they manipulated time to have him born from a woman possessed by a phophet.
Hats off to the amazing Patrick Stewart.
Picard: quit your barking
My man, these are called shorts. I believe the algorithm likes those.
Picard didn't intimidate Worf like Siscko did. Picard did not stare down the dominion, Siscko did. Siscko was probably the best captain other than Kirk. He even told God like beings to act like the gods they were pretending to be.
*Was
And then Picard ruined him.
Jean Luc Picard is a fan of the classics period he said play stupid games and win stupid prizes.
Thats the sorta balls you need a wheelbarrow to move around lol
Sisko poisoned an entire planet because he was pissed off at one man. He can live with being an accessory to murder if it helps save the Alfa quadrant. That's bad ass!
He’s alive
I just came into the comments to say Sisqo is the best Capin to make it hapin
Was this ever in doubt?
I mean, you aren't wrong 😂
Kirk or Sisko would have.
Sisko all the way
I thought there was a longer version of the video up.
Rare Picard W
I can think of a few more.
Facts
Kirk
Kirk!
Kirk, Sisko, Archer, Janeway...you know pretty much every major captain...I could actually see any of them dealing with this in this way BEFORE Picard. If anything this is out of character.
Archer & Kirk are high up there.
Truth be told Kirk, Sisko, Archer, hell even Janeway would done the same thing, only Picard could tell the klingon to piss off and in his own tongue. We wouldn't get someone like that until Beckett.
Janeway wouldn’t have been on Quonos to start with. If Gowron called and told her the Duras faction has stolen the coffee, she’d have been like “say no more” and flown off to kill them.
😆
Goated thumbnail I love widecard
???
@@LoreReloaded wide Picard
Least half of Kirk's career was doing that... An Sisko spent half the early part of his series basically saying and when needed DOING that so much the Klingons eventually said "so be it" an learned to role fairly heavy when it came to that too. Especially since he basically told the DOMINION the same thing.. an the Cardis AND Romulans an some cartels too an had to demonstrate in several ways to them all a few times too. It was basically his series in a short nutshell
Was just thinking yesterday about what the actual govt system of Starfleet and the Federation was, and I thought, _"That's a question for _*_Lore Reloaded_* .... what's happened to Lore? Is he okay?"
Honestly picard, sisqo and Kirk were all great captains. Sisqo and Kirk had meaner streaks than picard, and Kirk was more of a playboy but well the ship they captained symbolized alot about themselves.
Kirk: Am I a joke to you?
Sisko bitch slapped more Klingons than I can count.
Sisko. He took no crap. Even worf told jadzia he intimated him. Which Susko found amusing
Picard being the best captain would be true if Sisko did not exist, but he does so Picard isn't.
Sisko had faught off a group of Klingons bording party. He also just said to a fleet of Klingons, I wouldn't do that if I were you. And after the first volley, he was like do you give uo yet.
Picard would smash that Klingon’s fists against his hardened face. Kirk… or Riker on the other hand…
Worf respected Picard but respected and was intimidated by Sisko.
Answer Sisko would. And then end that Klingon.
