1:01:29 What Mod Mark says here is very important, because it reflects the hastily made updates that eventually led to other poor decisions. For me EoC was one of those rushed pieces of content so it could be that "next shiny thing."
He also says they should've fixed what they had starting 5-6 yrs ago instead of just looking forward. To me this foreshadows why 2007 was their only fully restored backup for oldschool servers. I think he knew all along, and I also feel he's been wanting to get this off his chest.
Lastly, it puts my mind at ease to finally hear Mod Mark say these words, and acknowledge the truth. Ty Mod Mark. :)

Ellinger RS I actually admire Mod Mark. And actually, look at what they've achieved! (EoC is actually amazing, they've improved it massively; same with a bunch of content that's been updates).
EoC should have been in testing longer, and they should have given better ways to add feedback etc. Does that mean EoC was the worst idea ever? No, of course not! EoC NEEDED to happen in order to actually compete with WoW and various clones out there. And, right now, I think they've got a nice system, which is both up to date, and unique! (No MMORPG I've ever played has a better quest system than RS, and I've played ALOT of MMORPGS!)
My ONLY issue with RS3, is Treasure Hunter. (And honestly, that's the owners fault, not Jagex's.) If they'd scrapped the SoF/TH and focused on SGS (Cosmetics don't harm a game, unlike free xp/bxp/skilling buffing items etc...), then RS3 would actually be a near perfect MMORPG. :) Huge admiration for all the staff at Jagex tbh!
+Harry Stringer Runescape was great because it WASN'T WOW. WOW shits all over rs3, never should have tried to compete. rs2 was > wow because rs2 was one of a kind.
Harry Stringer eoc is not runescape, it's their attempt at making runescape a modern mmo

I really like how personal JaGex has been getting with their players in the recent years. I find them much more likeable and can understand most, if not all, of the dicission's they've made that I didn't necesarrily agree with prior to them being so social.

Mod Ash is my favourite, he seems like a really nice and cool guy.
Unique content and social interaction is the reason I fell in love with Runescape. I long for the days when my brothers and I would get on after school and train skills or pk together. Compare the content of Runescape3 with the content of Runescape back in the day. Today, most of the content is centered around leveling skills in the most efficient way possible. To me, content was never about a means to an end, it was about the telling of stories.
No other game could boast of wise old men, or of wieldable rubber chickens, or of a dwarf with an insatiable desire for redberry pie. Was it practical? Not really. Did it make the game unique? Hell yes! Generic grinder MMORPGs cannot compete with games that are rooted in storytelling, community, and social interaction.
I am so excited that Old School Runescape is coming to free to play. I can guarantee that as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the 18th, the sweet sound of Newbie Melody will echo through my house.

This "story time" was a lot different than what i thought it would be. It was incredibly entertaining hearing Mod Mark, Mod Ash, Mod Wilson, Ian Gower, Mod Meldor talk about their personal experiences really makes me think of them in a different light; as fellow players of the community! Great job on this video, very interesting!

I really enjoyed this as I've played Runescape for 10ish years and it was interesting to hear how they all got into Runescape and Jagex. To work at such a place is awesome I would love to do that.

One of the songs from WGS in Rs2 I loved. Literally the only song on RS I really enjoyed listening to in a loop. I think it was the one that played before or right at tormented demons.
