😅 now as someone who had had a crush on a friend’s mom when I was younger. I do think part of it stems from not understanding or seeing how similar or different your friend’s mom treats your friend in private Vs how they treat them in public. To explain what I mean. In public your friend’s mom might be very friendly, cheerful and lenient to whatever they say or want to do. But in private they are strict and uptight and very demanding. So while we the audience saw Judy’s not do flattering moments via Jimmy. Carl likely only saw the positive side of her. Could also just be that Carl has a thing for older women. But who knows.
That jar scene was a really weird episode that made me feel uncomfortable as a kid. Now, that I sadly understand the full meaning of it, I hated him even more! 🚩🚩
Who prefer Carl x Elke better? I don’t know why shipping a minor with the adult was just a running gag or an adult joke. Carl is better off with Elke and Judy is better off with her hubby Hugh.
I agree, I thought they were funny and cute as a child because my brain was not developed at the time but now as an adult? It's a big no-no, it's pretty disgusting-- The idea of a minor being in a romantic relationship with an adult that could be his mother is so gross, tbh.
