    UXUI Career- • UXUI Designer 2022- JO...
    So, this video will take you through my journey of sailing. How I got into sailing. What all things I did to get admission into the marine college. What all experiences I got from my hostel life and academic life. Everything I said here is solely my perception of the Industry and my way of living the life I want. So please feel free to share yours in comment too.
    I am an Indian middle class guy, with same family issues as most of you & whose college degree is not helping out in any way and thinks that you have wasted your father’s super hard earned money. I know it is hard. So what I did was to find the combination of work that matches my skill and knowledge. I had good technical skill due to engineering background & I am creative. So I found out about the field called UXUI designing. Did a course, read a lot about it & practiced for some months and viola currently working for an amazing startup as UX/UI designer.
    I know it is not as easy as it sounds. But the good thing about brain is you can fool it. *Tell your brain that things are easy even if it sounds complicated.*
    If you are feeling low, take breathe, sleep well, eat good, binge watch series. Read, research, try & find out about yourself. World is big & so is the opportunities. You just have to take that one step, the first step. Remember, One step at a time.

    Well being a sailor I can completely agreed and happy that you take this courageous decision on time.. Because if age pass like in my case then it becomes completely trap ..this video is very eye opening for all young youths who just join merchant navy thinking only dollars and visiting countries.. Best wishes for your career ahead.

    • @ArupKarmakar98
      @ArupKarmakar98  2 года назад +10

      You have correctly used the word "trapped".
      It is not because of the cadets. I guess.
      They are tend to be attracted towards money and all. But I guess it should be responsibility of parents also to know first fully what the field is, then also support their child if he wants to transition his career. Already our generation is too much confused because of too much resources.

    I really liked how honesty u portrayed your story except one part where you said who dreams of oiling and greasing,dear friend I must tell you there are many who dream of this job.As per me ,No profession is bad or good it's just every person is born for a different purpose in life ..I hope you get it.

    • @ArupKarmakar98
      @ArupKarmakar98  2 года назад +3

      Ya, I understand you. Probably you are right. I shouldn’t have said that. However,
      1. Oil and greasing is a metaphor for the physical work. Everyone knows that engineers are not hired just for this.
      2. Well just because many people dream about this doesnt mean it is not right or wrong. I try to take one stand, I do not try to be neutral.
      3. I could’ve edited that part, put its suppose to be candid and I kept it as raw as possible, showing the person I am and view I have without any filter. You may disagree, I may be wrong. But its ultimately me.

    Very true! It is far better to understand and leave the field in early stage if you find it unsuitable for you. This way one can keep him/her self and other shipmates safe. Last thing i want in engine room is an engineer who is a dead weight.

      I wouldn't recommend you to go and it is not because of hazardous nature as there are companies which are super safe and you have to mark and sign the checklist even before climbing ladder.
      I wouldn't recommend you because you if something happens to your mom or dad and you are in mid pacific then noways you can meet them before many days. These may sound very specific and minute thing to some people, but for me it matters. And as they grow old and you have wife you need to be with them. So as a social person myself I would not recommend you that.
      Rest is your call. But do think specific. Earning more money wont mean anything if you are unable to spend it with your close one.
      Choose wisely.

      That's why it is said that context is very important.
      Tightening nuts and bolts is a metaphor for the maintenance of machineries done on board and personally I feel that, engine dept. job is 90% about maintenance. If you know how PMS are important.
      And it is not called judgment. I was in that scenario and have seen everyone working around me. It was my perspective and so does my story and so does everyones.

      Bulk carrier is also a type of cargo carrier. Cargo like LPG LNG ships are better and more safe than other dry bulk cargoes like minerals or something.
      Containers are also safe.
      In terms of safety, LPGS & LNGS tops but although depends on the flag of registry, management and age of vessel.
