    What strikes me as one of Japan's most outstanding feature is how most people (read everyone) are so extremely courteous and considerate of not just visitors but also of each other. Etiquette and efficiency is of course top notch, and while I'm sure Japan, like other countries, must have its problems, its people have seemed to keep the positives alive..which is what makes Japan so special in my eyes. I've heard stories from my grandaunts, dating some 30 years back, about how even strangers will rush to help if someone on the road is in trouble or distress. And we all know the system of Japanese slippers/shoes, that are kept facing outwards, making it easier to put on while exiting a room. It is one of my life's biggest wishes to be able to visit Japan one day. What a great video, and how gentle you were with opening/closing doors, walking, etc... Thank you for sharing with us :)

    I was a sailor on a warship. When I finished my service time on that warship, I vowed that I would never get on a ship again. But if I am to spend a night on this ferry, I would not mind getting on a ship again. Quiet and spacious. The ferry looks better than a cruise ship to me.

    Hello from Austin, Texas USA! I am loving your videos, they are very relaxing. I have never visited Japan (although I did fly through once) and have always wanted to go. That cabin is unbelievably nicer than the cruise ship cabins I’ve been on in the US. As far as transportation in my country goes, the one thing I do like having once or twice a year is an Interstate Highway trip. There is something about watching the city fade away into countryside that is mesmerizing and soothing. I also like the fact that you can drive for a while, stop when you want to stop, and control the pace of your trip however you wish.

    こんにちは from Sydney, Australia. Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them and find them informative. Thank you for the English subtitles. My parents were business people and loved touring Japan in the 80`s. When Japanese delegations would visit my home country of New Zealand, we would entertain them in our family home and invited them to try both Western and Japanese cuisine... which pleasantly surprised them. I also hope to visit Japan one day. ありがとうございました and さようなら.

      Honestly, it's nicer than any cruise ship I've been on. I don't think you would find that much space in the stateroom or on the balcony except in the most luxurious suites. A "balcony stateroom" on, say, Norwegian cruises tends to have just enough room for two chairs and a tiny table, and the bathroom is about the size of a linen closet.

      The best bit is probably the air conditioning for sure right? Whoever did a HVAC installation for every room was a genius.
      Even on the Marella Discovery 2, a decent sized cruise ship, they didn't have decent AC for the rooms.

    • @cammyboy011
      @cammyboy011 3 года назад

      @@dumbbellenjoyer I missed that part about the HVAC system but it would be cool to see the setup. Typically we would use so large HV chillers to cool down water before sending that off to the actual AC units that then condition the air for the rooms. The more important the cabin... The fewer cabins are on that AC station 😏 and no the captain and crew are not considered important for the most part 😆

    I am glad I found Kuga's Travel. Kuga's vlogs are the morning (or evening 😉 after) a sensory overloaded weekend. There is an ASMR quality to the vlogs that is definitely calming and soothing. I'm not sure if this is great editing or a reality that has a 5 on sound and a color palette warmth on 6. The camera angles are reverential and gives me a feeling of respect for the views. Nothing appears out of place or happenstance. Except for people. Kuga gets 4 stars (of 5) on my vloggermeter. Great job! I wonder if Kuga offers guided tours (music included). 🙂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The ship was so bright and spacious,,an escalator! to board by... didn't seem to be many passengers,,, we slept in the open space areas / sections for about 20 people at a time ( cheapest way ) and found that a novel but comfortable experience... one of about 6 passengers in deck spaces for over 100. For tourists, this is often cheaper. You leave in the evening, have a hotel stay on the ship, and arrive in the morning. Very efficient and you don’t need to pay for a hotel stay. Otherwise, you pay for the flight, get there in the late evening, then pay another $250 for a hotel.

    To get from Tokyo station to Oarai ferry terminal, the bus in the video is the quickest option I think, and it takes you straight there. To get there by train, the nearest station is Oarai on the Kashima Rinkai Railway, so you'd have to take an express train on the JR Jōban Line from Tokyo to Mito and then the Kashima Rinkai Railway Oarai-Kashima Line train to Oarai and then walk about 20 minutes (1.5km) to the ferry terminal. In total, that's a bit longer than two hours (3 hours if you take local trains instead of the express train), and you have to go through two different rail companies. I know I'd rather take the train, but the bus seems much more convenient here.

    Hi Kuga! Great video! Very nice ferry! Here in Alaska, we have many ferries as a lot of our coastal areas are islands. Cheers from Alaska!
