worked for amazon for several years. Until this last year they made our warehouse work MET (59.5) hour weeks for more than 6 months. At what point do they stop calling it "extra time" and change to "occasionally you'll get more than one day off a week." I got to add this, my warehouse specifically put older people on functions they knew they wouldn't be able to do so they could fire them. sorry I want to also add, the "power hours" were also some how won by the "leadership" (PA's mostly) pretty much all the time. Strange how that happened.
I drove cabs for many years, and Lyft for 7 years, until retiring in April of 2023. I brought people to and from various Amazon warehouses over the years, and heard many, many horror stories about working conditions. They have not changed one bit. I do not recommend working for Amazon in their warehouses unless you have no alternative.
I remember seeing this episode when it first aired...almost a month after I settled with Amazon for forcing me to go back to work after I was hurt. I was living with my parents at the time and the Amazon Liaison who worked to connect us with the workman's comp insurance company (I don't remember which one) even told my dad over the phone "I think it's all in his fucking head". I still have that injury even now and it's hard to lift objects I used to be able to, and I was in my early 20's when it happened
I don’t understand how people don’t remember how insane the Trump presidency was and how close the US came to anarchy! Actually sorry I almost forgot it did!
@@SnoFitzroy I also have not bought stuff from them. You know what the trick is, if I can't afford to buy it elsewhere I don't buy it. I'm poor as hell, but I make due without a lot of stuff. Also most stuff I do get I get second hand.
I guess... No WCB (Worker's Compensation Board) No Health Care No STD/LTD (Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability) 😮 What's so great about America again?

Look in any shark's mouth & there are rows of teeth-in-waiting, ready to replace a broken one. However, I totally agree on Amazon being nasty to their staff

I have to say it. If you're dying, don't ask, TELL. Sit down and take a break. The manager doesn't control your body, you do. That poor worker agreed to die rather than just sit down and not die.
So tired of the attitude privileged ppl have. The guy with his “glad I went to college” well man ask and u will find ppl w degrees working that same warehouse floor. I worked warehouse in bad conditions because I had to even though I have a Masters degree. What I didn’t have a relative who handed me an awesome job just for showing up.
This needs a part 2, especially since after the pandemic. 😮

The nicest thing about Amazon is the smile on the box.
I got hurt at Amazon and got 4 herniated discs. They have done nothing about it
Not surprised.

The ironic thing about all this is we get the word Robot from Hungarian where it literally means slave
I HAVE to see a prestige action-drama about the bear-robot war. Get on it HBO, this is your new Game of Thrones.
I don’t understand how people don’t remember how insane the Trump presidency was and how close the US came to anarchy! Actually sorry I almost forgot it did!
It's almost as if Jared had a concept of a plan..
I loathe Amazon with a passion.
I am a proud non-customer of Amazon. I have never bought anything from them in my life.
okay? Good for you for being able to afford other things? Weird flex but ok
@@SnoFitzroy It's not about affordability, it's about Bezos being a shit human being. I refuse to give him my money.
Me too. Shop local as much as possible. Support local jobs.
changes absolutely nothing

This is why I don't use Amazon.

No WCB (Worker's Compensation Board)
No Health Care
No STD/LTD (Short Term Disability or Long Term Disability) 😮

"Trump Heights" in Israel is a settlement? thats hilarious.
27:15 George Lucas works at an Amazon warehouse? Weird. I thought that they were doing a podcast with Watto…
2:18. Oh yes. 😂😂😂😂😂
Remember when the dumbest thing Trump ever did was put nothing boy Jared in charge of everything?
It was a more innocent time.
Well his and Jared's actions in Israel/Palestine has certainly born horrifying fruit.

Loosing their job could be just as bad. Writing this tells me u have never known true poverty and desperation.
@thomasc5439 I have definitely been I a position that I had to have my job.. but if I don't have my life what's the point.
John I'm begging you buy my mixtape
So Jared failed to get peace.
