I like his songs, but his versions of them are always so cheesy and gratituosly emotional! It's like some corny youtube cover that "uncovers the hidden emotion and depth" that was lying underneath a good rock/pop track. What I liked about oasis was that their songs were sweet yet played with attiude. Strip them off the attitude and you completely miss the point
thats the beauty of it tho, he wrote his first few songs probably in a dirt cheap flat where he'd let out that emotion in his writing, once the band prospect came with oasis, he could bring his masterpieces to life
