I remember DH from that old PS1 game originally, Battle Assualt 2, used to play it with my causins and friends at their house. None of us knew what we were doing, but whoever picked Deathscythe Hell, easily won. You start by using his special move 3 times, where he throws his scythe at the opponent, and the just finish them off with one or two simple kicks or punches. Great times.
The Deathscythe is powered by the rule of cool. Its been a long time since I rewatched but I think its the first time in the anime where the opening song is used to hype the moment to the point that when it was unveiling itself you see an increase in the detail of the gundam.
Favorite Gundam. Favorite pilot. Freaking love those moments when the Deathscythe just uncloaks and emerges from the darkness, terrifying any OZ pilot unlucky enough to bump into it.
The Gundams are so durable most don't even bother with camouflage, they feel being hard to detect on radar is enough and make them brightly colored. What makes Deathscythe and Deathscythe Hell so scary to me is they are just as durable as any Gundam but actually do bother with camouflage, not to mention being designed to look like the Grime Reaper. At night, in the ocean or in space you don't see them till it's too late, and when you do, it's Death itself.
And then they gave it a beam polearm weapon, so in melee it doesn't just cut, it has enough power to cleave through you. And Hell even has a second beam blade, as if one wasn't dangerous enough!

This show aged so well and is still spectacular no matter how many times i rewatch it, rythem emotion is such a powerful song too lmao just a perfect show all round one of the very few anime i prefer dub though
I wasn't a fan of the Endless Waltz upgrades honestly, I thought the visual design became way too "busy", or maybe a bit overgrown. That said, overall Wing has my favorite gundam designs of any of the series, they were in the sweet spot of each having unique and interesting gimmicks without crossing the line into becoming silly like most of the post-SEED series' did.

Anyone ever wonder why Gundam Sandrock had to ram that mobile suit in order to save him ? When seconds later, he used his machine gun to destroy a target that was far away OR the missiles he fired at a secondary target?
There was an old 2-D fighter based on GW for SNES and, while all the mechs had a dash, Deathscythe's was special since it was also his cloaking so it gave i-frames and pass-through.

Took me quite well to find what Hyper Jammer is for Deathscythe but boy it does screw your monitor visuals.
I STILL REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED THIS SCENE AND HOW AMAZING IT WAS. PERFECT ENTRANCE AND AWESOME MUSIC TO ADD TO THE EMOTION.

Back in the day I owned two Gundam Wing kit models: Wing Zero and Deathscythe Hell. The latter was definitely my fave.
