7:45 - I just love how Marty makes the most basic shit sound cool. I honestly would have given up guitar after a week or two if not for this living legend. Thank you for everything, Marty.
You are the best instructor by far on RUclips! I am a late 60s woman just taking up the guitar and love blues style. Your tutorials have me playing INSTANTLY!! Love it!! Thank you so much!
We need more of this Marty - blues for really beginners. The 1-4-5 chords, various base lines, different turnarounds, and various ways to noodle over those. If you could do some of that it would be great!
Marty I just wanted to take a moment out of practicing your lessons to let you know that 4 months ago I picked up the guitar for the first time at age 54. After sampling several different how to videos, I came across yours, subscribed, and have been practicing with you every since. You make it fun to learn and you teach something new almost every week. Things I struggled with just a few months ago are now getting easier every day. Keep up the great work because you are truly appreciated! If you are ever in Chicago, I would be happy to buy you a beer or two (or 6). Again, THANK YOU!
Marty thank you so much! for a beginner on guitar really, these videos kick ass, also the 3 open D chords to the E, love it! It allows me to play along the scales and IF I don't want to work my way back down the neck I can find a nice root note and then play the 0002 D/E and then work either on the top of the neck or off another E root note! THANK YOU! Awesome for when one gets lost and WANTS to get back somewhere's quickly, you're the man!
Thought you'd like to know. This is an incredible breakthru lesson for me. This is the first time I felt confidant and was competent playing some basic lead over the little backing track that you did. Whoo-hooo. Thank you.
Hey Marty, so great to see you back! I just want to thankyou for the great lessons youve provided over my 4 years of playing the guitar as you are the main reason why I have got to the standard i am today. Keep up the great work you do and looking forward for the "Marty Music" project to get better and better!😊
I almost feel guilty getting such awesome lessons for free, I've had 2 teachers in my short 43 years and they lasted all of 4 lessons combined, I am so happy to have met you where can I send you a bottle of rum?
I am a future Blues Guitar Hall of Famer and in the course of my first 6 months on the six string I have crossed paths on RUclips with many "instructors" who just wanted to show off their musical wizardry and did't have s flippin' clue how to bring it down to a "newbie's" level of understanding, ability or comprehension. Neither do you. Just teasin' !!!! For a lil' Jewish Guy, you have got it goin' on and I know, cuz I am another member of the tribe. You know, the tribe whose parents wanted a doctor not a rock star. Oy Vey
Hey Marty. Great to see you sharing new content on UTube. This one gave me a quick "Huh?" and then laugh from the intro, when you could hear the backing track. I thought you were playing it as well as the lead notes, but couldn't figure out how you were hitting those notes until you pulled your fret hand off...silly me.
could you combine your blues playlist in marty music with the videos in guitar jamz channel? This is systematic but that one was having things that are not in this.
Oh, boy.. I haven't picked up my electric in so long. I mostly play country rhythm and a few finger-picking stuff on my acoustic. Thought I would finally try to learn some scales and how to freestyle a bit, but I'm finding myself being frustrated to the point that I'm about to put my election back down. My timing with picking a scale sounds way off when I try to play along. I also can't figure out what else to do besides going "up and down" the scale, which gets boring and repetitive after a while. I've been doing the Am scale for years, but can't do anything with it. The electric is taking me some getting used to after not practicing on it in years. Not to mention that it's an uncomfortable piece of crap to play sitting down. I made the mistake of buying a B.C. Rich Warlock when I was first decided to learn because I thought it looked cool. I wish that I had a telecaster instead. I just have a Peavy Vypyr 15w amp. After about 5 years of having it, I finally figured the knobs out.. A clean tone with a little reverb is easy to find, but I can't say that I can find or tweak the settings for a distorted tone that I like. They all sound kinda muddy, but it also might be my guitar.

hey marty, when you gonna get the t shirts printed up?
How to you loop a chord progression or something like you did so that you can solo on it? Is it a pedal?
How the 6th note fits on the pentatonic escale as the chord note is the 7th?
